New here, needing a quick “how to”

Go easy, I am new so it sounds stupidly basic. However Just saw lots of people in other threads replying directly to peoples posts/comments, yet I have no clue how to do this!

All i know is to use the @ followed by the users name. But this does not seem to directly relate to the post i am refering to. Just sits as a new comment. Any help?

Also what determines how your replys/comments get cut and chopped? I have tried posting replys and comments, only for them to have been cut automatically!

Looks like you've figured out the quoting function. As for chopping and cutting of posts, there is a known issue when you post from a phone and use an emoji, the rest of your post disappears.

You don't have to use less, you just need to use the forum ones (little smiley face above the text box when you're creating a post)

Yeah, I should have been clearer: phone keyboard emojis are the ones that cause issues. Built-in forum emojis are fine.
