So I follow a progress pic group on Reddit and I finally got the nerve to post a before and during pic of myself. Someone messaged me and said I was ugly, asked if I was Jewish because I have a huge nose and said I’m still fat. I clicked his name and saw his previous comments to other women being rude. I blocked and reported him, but I also took my post down, I just feel like crap now

Things are only as important as you want them to be. I’m guessing that that terrible person is a troll and not someone important in your life so don’t give their opinion any weight. Find inspiration in the positive people and things in your life, that’s what really matters!

I have a BMI of 21 and am sitting right at my ideal weight. I look good and I know it. A while ago, some guy here on MFP told me I was fat and ugly. I LOL'd at him. It was an obvious lie intended to tear me down and it didn't work, because I couldn't care less what random trolls think of me. I know what their purpose is. And it's not about enlightening us all to the truth. They just want to wreck people's feelings. Guys like this throw insults around at everybody and hope some of them stick. Don't let this guy's ugliness stick to you.
He's just another miserable troll getting off on the idea that some woman somewhere was crushed by his nasty comment. Made him feel powerful to say it. He must have seen you actually being successful and felt threatened by it. There's an excellent chance this guy is super pathetic in real life and can't handle other people being happy while he's miserable. His comment says nothing about you and EVERYTHING about him. There's no denying you've made tons of progress. You look good, and you know it. Ignore the troll.

Everything the others wrote is true. The troll sits and writes probably hundreds of messages a day. In real life, he’d probably be attracted to you, feel impotent and too intimidated to ask you out, and deal with his frustration by going home and - coward that he is - insulting more women (while remaining safely anonymous).
I think his unconscious hope is that if as many women as possible can be made to feel less confident, less happy, generally just *less,* then maybe he might, in relation to their decreased self-worth, be seen as somehow *more*.
The problem for him is: while we may not know who he is, he does. He has to live with being that kind of person, that guy. How depressing. Gross.
Meanwhile, you are bravely demonstrating persistence and self-respect.

You look fantastic, I wouldn't place any value on what someone that hides behind their computer thinks, how sad his life must be to spend time tearing others down, I have had guys tell me I'm old, fat and ugly...I know I'm not ugly....lol3
