Last summer I tried to swing across the monkey bars and was still too heavy and didn't have enough upper arm strength. This summer? Three times across without a problem. I could have continued, but opted to climb up and down the short climbing wall with the eight year old instead.
OMG, I can SO relate to this. I have a 7 year old grandson that I'm seeing soon and I'm going to give those monkey bars a try. I for sure couldn't hang from them last summer, but I'm a new person this year!22 -
Back with the pants victories: I went shopping today, just to see where I’m at in terms of the type of jeans I’ve been wearing for several years, always in XL. I must admit, I posted on my profile, with all caps, immediately from the dressing room, I was so happy. Then, I got home and compared the new size L jeans to my old ones I’ve been wearing, and was even happier.

Wow! That's a difference!! Congrats! I have some pants victories too. I've been pulling out all the pants I've been unable to wear to wear again! I'm not quite at my smallest (few more lbs), but I can wear all but one size pants again. I'm close to uncharted territory! To dark wood of pounds I've yet to lose! So close!
But for now, I'll be happy in my new jeans I'm wearing that makes my bum look pretty good.16 -
Realizing how much better my complexion is now that I’m drinking more water and eating properly. No more adult acne, no stray whiskers on my chin, to not be worried about sweating profusely when it’s warm out and having embarrassing stains on my tshirts and to be comfortable in a tank top!22

Second day of summer session day and was talking with a fellow student. She was stretching her arms and excused herself - she's in theatrical dance and sore from the previous day. I reiterated that I understand, I run and lift weights, soreness happens. Her exact words made me smile.. "I knew you had to work out too, you look amazing". That pretty much made my month. I have never been told that I "look amazing" in my entire adult life.36

Here is an odd one - people at work have pretty much stopped commenting; I have been maintaining for 3 months and was losing so slowly the last couple of months that I was essentially the same size. The reason that is an NSV is that people are becoming used to this being me. I am starting to also.39

I have been deliberating on just this point this morning. While I get a bit embarrassed when receiving compliments about my weight loss they do help motivate me. I also relish the feeling of looking slimmer and fitter and feeling healthier. However, I am a bit in fear of the day that I forget what it was like when I was fat (I am still just outside normal BMI - 8lbs to go) in case that lack of 'glow' makes maintenance harder.16 -

I am a broken record on that. One word - diligence. Motivation has a short shelf life and boosts in motivation will become less frequent. We have to be prepared for that. I am hopeful that if I forget what it is like to be fat, it will be because I am adjusted to the new lifestyle that keeps me thin. I have started being more social and meeting new people who only know as a little guy. One of the things you learn is that some thin people often say some pretty mean things about those who are overweight. I certainly don't, but I hear it now. Positive reinforcement is better, but it does provide some motivation. I don't want to be regarded that way. While I don't say mean things and try not to regard people differently, I do see my failure to take care of myself in the past as something of a character flaw. I would be very disappointed in myself if I start to slip. This is different than how I viewed things in the past, even at the bottom of my yoyos, because I never really made it down to a truly healthy weight, stayed there (for months so far) and got in better shape.18 -
Still have weight loss and fitness goals but I now weigh less than I did twenty years ago.24

I hit 100 days today, and celebrated by adding new notches to my old belt and hitting a bench press PR.25

I went and tried on some shorts, last time I bought some, I was between a 22 and a 24, 24 were too big, 22 were just to tight to be comfy. I tired on 22 and they were TOO BIG, I tried on 20, 1 pair fit perfectly, 1 pair was a touch to big..... hippy ya hooy!!!
Verrryy gratifying, especially since I have not been very good in the eating or workout dept since Jan.23 -
I saw my Dr. today for my physical. My last visit was March 2017. He nearly *kitten* his pants when he saw me! He was very happy with the weight loss and my health.
Normally after my physical I immediately make an appt for a month later to go over the lab results. But this time he said "I already know how the results are going to be. Just make an appt for the fall."32 -
I can see my knee when I sit down! The left one. The right one is still a mushy dough blob at all angles. Not sure WHY my left leg is significantly thinner than my right, but whatever. Progress is progress, right?23

Bought new hiking trousers and shorts for my holiday next week.
I thought the UK size 10 I ended out buying when I tried them on must be a vanity size. Turns out it isn't...17 -
Great job to everyone here for all you are doing!
These past few weeks or so have been very taxing -- we're short some people at work, and workload is increasing. Also my husband is traveling for work, so I'm doing everything by myself. It's ok, but I get home and I am pooped! I struggle to cook and eat a decent dinner, let alone do a workout! Yesterday though, one eyeball was looking at pending rainclouds and the other eyeball was looking at an overgrown lawn...before my brain caught up to my body I was mowing! It was done in like, three minutes (tiny yard!) but actually doing something after work was invigorating; so much so that I went inside and did a leg workout! Followed by a yummy stir-fry-esque dinner! I got to work this morning and told my friend about my evening last night and I really surprised myself! My body just moved and my brain was along for the ride instead of pulling towards the couch like usual!!24 -
Two days ago, I went to the bakery (I live two floors higher than it). A month ago, it would have involved buying a Nutella donut, a brownie, a pain au chocolat, and a huge macaron to eat all by myself. Here, I bought just a plain croissant to have as a treat, and I feel very proud32

I have been noticing the same thing at my work. If I do get comments, it's about my walking around the block while others are taking smoke breaks, and during my lunch half-hour. Even the owner of the company comments on the walking occasionally, but never in a negative way.15 -
I took a shower yesterday and noticed I was able to wrap my towel fully around my body!
Also, my jeans that I bought a few months ago, I barely fit into them and I now can fit in them comfortably.20
