6/7 145.0 finally ate a decent day! Ate under calories and didn’t eat sweets. Going to really try to stay away from sweets and ice cream these 10 days! Been really hard this summer.
6/8 145.6 ate good!
6/9 147 ate horrible on the boat all day. Eating seeds, junk food. But I exercised!
6/10 forgot to weigh!
6/11 147.2 grrr ate a lot this weekend! Need to get back on track!
6/12 146.4 ate better
6/13 145.8 continued to eat better. Didn’t do bedtime snacking for once! It so helps to weigh each day! Keeps me on track
6/14 145.2 slowly going back down, so glad I weigh myself every day to catch the gains!

Age 60, 5'4.5" and eating in a livable way = It's. Not. A. Diet. I eat back exercise calories, or I would be starving and cranky. Hubby does not like cranky me. Changed MFP setting 5/5/18 [R39] to 1/2# per week loss ~ within 10# of UGW, weight loss had stalled 3 months + was feeling hungry more often.
MFP SW 195 ~ Goals: #1 = 150 / #2 = 145 [normal BMI] / #3 = maintain 140 - 145 / no goal dates ~ I get there when I get there
Thrilled with my 2/15/18 annual physical: BP 110/68, pulse 64 and BMI 26.14
Ecstatic with my 5/15/18 annual workplace Health Risk Assessment: waist smallest since 2007 and BMI 25.6
My digital scale only has 1/2# increments, and I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale. Weigh first thing in morning / comments reflect prior day.

06/02: 153.0 Friday 6/1 was annual Girls Day Out w/ mom (81yo), aunt (70yo), sister & SIL ~ we've done this since 2005. Day was filled with family , shopping, pedicures and, of course, eating! Fabulous lunch, everyone else had paninis but I had fusilli with shrimp, artichoke hearts, white wine & sun-dried tomatoes ~ so good! We always have an afternoon break for dessert & this year we had pie break. I indulged in caramel apple pie ~ yum! Before leaving home for day, I walked dog 3.07 mi 53:19 and ate mango overnights oats (yum & filling) for breakfast. Fitbit 14,217 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 & 20 floors. No logging of food or drink + no regrets! It was a day to enjoy.
06/03: 153.5 Farmers market / walked dog 3.24 mi 55:51. Moved 3,196# (I did the math) of retaining wall blocks (17# each), with hubby of course, from pallet in driveway, around garage, through back gate, across backyard, up berm and placed along 85' back fence. I started by carrying one in each hand (indents in blocks) but when pallet was > 1/2 empty I couldn't do two anymore, and only carried one at a time. Took us 3 hours total & I weeded berm as we went. My workouts are paying off ~ my arms weren't too sore, just my hand grip and lower back from lots of bending ~ took Aleve after and felt fine next day. Round 43/Round 1 for me
SW: 152.7
UGW: 125
RGW: 130/135
Weekly goal: lose one pound, exercise 6 days a week a minimum of 30 minutes. Minimum 30 minutes cardio daily.
6/10: 152.7 - humbling moment after not weighing myself for two years
6/11: 151.5 - in an ironic twist of fate I ate lots of "naughty food yesterday but kept portions in check and lost a pound. Got in lots of exercise so that helped I suppose. Getting back in the swing of logging everything. Today's goal is to continue to log and up my protein intake -- trying to balance macros better.
6/12: 151.7 - kinda what I expected. No exercise yesterday, too much salt in my diet yesterday, three days till estimated TOM start day, whole lot of insomnia last night. Suffering from really bad allergies, headache and asthma, smoke in the air from wildfires and I don't feel like doing a darn thing. Today I'm focusing on gallons of water!
6/13: 152.6 - back to where I started, ugh. PMS, bloat, emotional eating last night and no exercise the last two days. Zero motivation. Trying to not beat myself up and instead treat myself gently and get curious about why I feel so stuck and unmotivated and frankly, depressed. Trusting it's just the standard PMS hormones that will hopefully resolve on Friday or Saturday.
6/14: 151.5 - A little drop despite mild cramps, bloating and PMS. Got myself moving yesterday with Herculean effort and the encouragement I got from reading everyone's posts. Stayed consistent with calories but too many carbs! Guess the gallons of water I ingested yesterday worked a bit.

]I'm fully back on Keto, and it kinda feels like I never left. I haven't had an official weigh-in below 190, but I have seen it on my scale, and I'm really excited. The end of last round was fantastic (~5lbs in 3 days), and it looks like it "stuck." Going on vacation next Tuesday for 1 week (and with my in-law side of the family... 10 people... in a van), and I'm really happy that I got back on Keto before this. It's just not THAT hard to maintain, and it gives me an extra reason (for them) to stay away from things I've always wanted to stay away from.

Day/Weight/Comment
6/07 = 190.4 (+0.2), BF% = 15.3 (no change). I'm really happy to see this number, as I was not fully convinced that yesterday's weigh-in was accurate. I snacked a bit much yesterday, which led to me eating at about maintenance. I'm feeling super-positive right now. I have basketball and the weightlifting tonight. I think I'm eventually going to alternate my weightlifting and basketball days; I'm not sure it will make a difference health/fitness-wise, but it should improve the likelihood that I get my weightlifting in. At this point, when I have to sacrifice something (because of time), I just do legs at the gym, not upper body.
6/08 = 191.2 (+0.8), BF% = 15.3. This is "one of those days." I played basketball last night, I had a healthy dinner, and I ate well yesterday; everything indicated that today should have been, at worst, maintaining my weight. Daily fluctuations; sometimes they make sense, sometimes they don't. But, given my current Zen state, I'm going to see this for what it is. Basketball was mediocre last night, but I didn't get hurt. I'm experiencing some ridiculous drama at work today (petty personal drama), and it has me in a bad mood.
6/09 = 190.2 (-1.0), BF% = 15.3. Basically A WHOOSH™. I ate well yesterday. I'm right in the edge of 189.x. Trying not to obsess about it. I play basketball in a little over an hour, and I'm going to stop at the gym. This could be the day. I'm going to eat very mindfully today. Going it for drinks tonight for a friend's birthday, so it's going to be tough. 2 drinks max, and they must be Keto-friendly.
6/10 = 190.8 (+0.6), BF% = 15.3. Yesterday was a mixed bag. Basketball was great, eating, not so much. My wife was a horrible, insidious influence. I know my eating is my responsibility, but she was in rare form. I need to find a kind way to talk with her about this, because I can deal with temptation, but not sabotage from my wife.
6/11 = 192.6 (+1.8), BF% = 15.5. I feel like this is "leftover" from my day before, because I was within calories, macros, and whatever. Maybe I had a "little" more bacon last night than I should have. I have been a little light on sleep the past few days, and I've also been a little light on water, and both of those could be affecting things. I'm playing basketball and going to the gym tonight. I'll keep trying to figure this out. Not going to let this get me down.
6/12 = 191.0 (-1.6), BF% = 15.3. Total BWHOOSH™ (formerly known as BOUNCE BACK™). Finally a decent weigh-in after basketball last night. My knee felt loose/sore at basketball, though, so it wasn't all good news. I went to the gym before basketball last night, lifted weights (including legs), but I have to admit that I skipped the gym last Thursday and Saturday (but still played basketball). I know better. Thinking back, I'm pretty sure I know what's going on, as it's happened before. Part of me (hell, all of me) wants to be "normal" again, someone who isn't dealing with the aftereffects of reconstructive knee surgery 20 years ago, including pretty severe osteoarthritis. I would love to be able to play basketball and NOT need to lift weights every time I go in order to keep my reconstructed knee and associated leg in its best possible state (which still sucks). This experience, once again, reminds me that this day will never come. It's a little depressing, but this is old, old news. If I go to the gym regularly (one gym workout per one day of basketball), I generally feel much better. I'm recommitting to doing this. Again. On a happier note, I'm going on vacation for a week! I will not be weighing in again until Wednesday, 6/20. Anyone have any ideas regarding how I should "report" this in my history (SW, EW, AW, etc.)? *Edit* Last night I asked my wife to take the following phrase out of her vocabulary when it comes to me and food, "Maybe you can just have a little."
6/13 = no weigh-in. Driving to Sedona this morning for a weeklong vacation with my in-laws (9 adults plus one 5-year-old and and infant). I got very little sleep last night. Our plan was to rent a huge can and drive together, but that fell apart last second, and we spent an extra 2 hours coming up with an alternative (renting a car and a Suburban). I'm exhausted, but excited about keeping to my Keto and trying to at least maintain my weight until I get back.
6/14 = no weigh-in. I did pretty well yesterday when I was in control, but ordering pizza for dinner I couldn't do anything about. Just ate the toppings and threw away the bread. I different did my best, but I'm hoping for some better choices (opportunities) for food. Sedona is gorgeous.

My habit of logging here is working as well in maintenance as it did while losing. Wishing everyone a god round!
Round 42 GOAL = Log every day. Get 5 cardio workouts. Get 5 mini strength workouts.
6/7 - 126.4 - whoosh of -2 pounds in a day. This takes me back to my pre-vacation range, getting rid of the bit I gained AFTER coming back. Yesterday just under maintenance calories, 30 min elliptical arctrainer, and tested my recovering knee in a 1.25 mile run ... it passed!
6/8 - 127.0 - Yesterday right at maintenance calories, RAN 2.2 MILES, walked an extra bit, and got my 10K steps.
6/9 - 127.4 - Yesterday under maintenance by 100 or so, ran 2 miles, and did a little body-weight strength workout, just starting. 10K steps.
6/10 - 128.0 - Yesterday 170 over maintenance calories and I LOGGED IT ANYWAY (that has been a fight for me so yay). Left Knee has gotten jealous of Right Knee and decided it wanted extra massage, the neoprene sleeve, arnica, and biofreeze TOO. Unfortunate, but maybe I shouldn't have done so many body weight lunges and squats barefoot on a cushy rug while watching the Warriors win the title Friday night. Nonetheless, 10K steps and a short walk.
6/11 - 128.4 - Yesterday under maintenance calories, 13K steps, and a workout that mixed short run, elliptical with sprints, and a little strength
6/12 - 126.8 - Yesterday under maintenance calories, 8K steps and at least got a few strength exercises in. Emotional day.
6/13 -126.8 - Yesterday under maintenance calories. It was just a day to get through and learn from. Here's to less self-caused emotional drama today.
Progress report: have accomplished 3/5 cardio workouts and 3/5 mini strength workouts so far. Time to finish strong, I see how anxiety the last couple of days affected my plan.
6/14 - 126.0 - Yesterday under maintenance calories - I have a little insurance built in and try to stay under as I let my fitbit burn sync up, and I consider that total to be "maintenance calories." Great run last night, most since the knees started feeling fragile: 3.75 miles.

2. Drink 2L of water a day
R43: SW: 218.2
Day/Weight/Comment
6/07--219.2 I have no idea where the increase came from. Working on water today.
6/08--218.2 There it goes. Got my water in yesterday.
6/09--218.0 Going back down slowly. Working on making sure I get my water in this weekend. It's supposed to be a rainy weekend so I am planning on getting out when there is a break in the weather and get my steps in.
6/10--219.2 Chinese food water retention. Based on my past experience the water weight will stick around for 2-3 days. Got my steps in yesterday and already did Kettlebell for today. Going out to a bbq today, so it will be a good challenge for me to stay focussed on my balanced eating.
6/11--219.3 Surprised it wasn't higher. Between the soreness from Kettlebell and the small amount of water I drank yesterday, I was expecting more water weight to show up on the scale. I kept within my calories yesterday even though I went the bbq, so that was a success.
6/12--219.5 Sore from Kettlebell and not a great sleep. This has been a weird round for the scale. I will just keep doing what I need to do and let the scale do what the scale wants to do. Got walk in yesterday.
6/13--219.3 Woke up feeling heavy this morning. I looked back over my food diary and realized that for the past few days I have had little to no vegetables and very little fiber. I am going to work on increasing both over the next few days and see how I feel.
6/14--218.0 Feeling less heavy this morning. It's amazing how quickly your body can respond to a change in eating habits. Will continue to be conscious about the amount of fiber I am eating.

This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
6/7 136.5 I was feeling frustrated when I weighed this morning until I realized, I am still below my original goal weight. Working on changing my mind set.
6/8 136.0
6/9 136.5
6/10 136.5
6/11 135.0. Yesterday we cleaned our daughter’s carpets since they were gone until last night. Lots of going up and down stairs which I would not have been able to do a year ago due to knee pain. THANK YOU KETO!
6/12 135.5 Awake and up before 5. Too darn early! Today is my 1 year JGM10D anniversary. Although I was getting ready to be taking several trips before mid-July I decided I would use 10 days JUST ONCE. I didn’t realize it would go on forever but I am so glad it has. It’s my better addiction!
6/13 135.5 Early weigh in and Late post as I had to finish an ebook before it was retrieved. I have been very distracted lately. I took one of our granddaughters to lunch yesterday and then we walked around the mall. Got over 130% of my step goal. Ate all Keto but too much. I need to get my focus back. DH is stressing over the work the landscaper has done and says he should have done it himself. It’s 109* right now and at this age he doesn’t need to be digging trenches for watering system and hauling rock! His stress is causing me stress!!
6/14 134.0 Over on everything and had the first glass of wine since last fall, which I didn’t track. And I’m down 1.5#.11 -

June
7: 201... Had company from out of state last night and ate a late supper with a bit of wine. It was a nice evening with friends. Taking the kids on a family day trip today, and will just enjoy whatever meals are available as I'm not sure where we'll end up eating. Spontaneous quality family time day to just enjoy each other and life! I may or may not log, but I imagine the scale will go up tomorrow. This kind of feels like my "weekend."
8: 203.1... Not so very long ago, I would've been ashamed to post this kind of weight jump. Today, I'm not. I enjoyed a "day off" and am easily observing the aftermath without judgement. Yesterday, I didn't follow my usual IF hours and found myself much hungrier than is normal for me these days. The hunger is likely also correlated to my approaching TOM. I made some healthy choices yesterday and some not so healthy ones. The scale reflects that. This morning, I also experienced increased hunger, but I stuck to IF. Ate some things I normally wouldn't due to traveling. I'm significantly over my calories, even with a 90-minute walk. But all is well. I'm happy with where I'm at on this journey and eagerly looking forward to where I want to be. I spend time acknowledging how far I've come and how much easier the process is for me when I lighten up and don't judge or shame myself. I'm not stressing about needing to see a certain number. I just know that I'll get there. I love and accept my body the way it is for all that it has gotten me through. This abdomen has carried three beautiful children. These hips widened to allow their passage into the world. These thighs are strong and have walked me through military training, a combat deployment, many personal challenges, and thousands of miles of personal reflection and renewal. I look in the mirror and like what I see, and I see my body changing to reflect my positive thoughts surrounding it. It's a beautiful life and a beautiful day. I hope you all are enjoying yours! ❤️
9: 204... Attack of the late night munchies. Stayed in bed until noon today. Pre-TOM symptoms are full force!
10: 203... I did well yesterday. I ended up over calories by 64, but that still puts me way below maintenance. Got up and took a walk in the rain this morning and met my step goal before noon. Looking forward to seeing another drop tomorrow.
11: 203...TOM today or tomorrow. Should see my usual drop after it starts.
12: 201.6...and there it is. TOM started this morning. Yesterday, we rejoined a different gym than our current one. It doesn't open until July 3rd because it's still being built, but I can hardly wait for a free personal trainer for 30 days and free TRX classes offered 3 times a day!
13: 203... Not sure what that's about. Hmm.
14: 202.1... I'm kind of surprised because I'm feeling super bloated due to TOM, but I'll take it.

6/07, Thursday – 161.6 Yay! Finally made it to the 161’s although I realize to get to my goal for this round will take consistency every day.
6/08, Friday – 162 Potluck tonight so will have to resolve to be careful especially after I get home and not fall into the “I have no clue how to chart what I ate so let’s just take a night off mode.”
6/09, Saturday – 162.2 Not awful but could have done better last night. Inspired by Ellie7187 “Will just have a good week to make up for it.” Getting discouraged definitely doesn’t help.
6/10, Sunday – 161.8
6/11, Monday- 160.8 So happy with this! It has been a long time. Ate OK on the weekend but I think this is more a result of the last months of hanging in there. Doing some sewing and I measured my hips and down 2”. It’s when I start trying on some clothes that I used to wear that I realize how dishonest I have been with myself. The “I guess I’ve gained a bit” was actually 20# and now I’ve lost about 6# of it.
6/12, Tuesday – 161.2 No gym today but lots of gardening (I hope). Beautiful sunny day after a weekend of cold and rain.
6/13, Wednesday – 160.6 Feel I don’t quite deserve this as snacking last night after coming in from working in the garden. Love working in the evening, so peaceful and quiet but somehow makes me feel like I should eat something and then feel so draggy in the morning. Off to the gym to clear my head, hopefully. So do not feel like going but hubby caught a ride just so I could use the car to get to the gym so that is pushing me out the door.
6/14, Thursday – 160.6 Sore from going harder at the gym and then in the evening digging out a wine barrel planter with rocks in the bottom and refilling it. But, I’m almost done with the veggie area of the yard. Terribly late this year as I was away and then tired and then the weather turned rainy. Yesterday picked up a row cover that I’d used on the lettuce and broccoli to keep the deer from eating it and discovered a mousy creature had eaten them to the ground. I miss my old cat!

6/14 168.4 10-day moving average:168.3
Yes! I’ve learned a lot these past 5 days!
My body is getting back to normal now that the prep and the test is over, and I’m eating my regular foods (high fiber, low sodium, etc) again. I’m seeing why I was overweight ... and yes, obese, before... AND why I’m not now. I had my first non-homecooked meal in 7-8 months last night - a very special event. I was mindful of every bite and enjoyed it greatly. But I was also mindful that even though I had not overeaten, I didn’t actually feel as good. With my foods (pretty simple fare), I always feel good. A very pleasant discovery!

11: 90.5kg. I’ve now lost 8kg! Long weekend and still made it to group training. 25min of HIIT and 25 min of boxing I’m sweating buckets!
12: 90.5kg has lunch out yesterday, enjoyed by crumbed prawns and chips and stayed under calories. Will try to get to the gym after work at 10pm. Will be interesting to see if I can sleep after
13: 90.2kg. Made it to the gym after work. Was nice to have it to myself for a bit! Found a nice frozen dinner that has some protein (40g) in it yay

My meals were preplanned today as I always do, but when the children are with me I can throw that out the window. I just knew everything was going to be "off" water, choice of food, calories, macros. A couple of ounces of chicken and a cheese stick can potentially wreak havoc on planning. BUT, as George Peppard aka Hannibal Smith leader of the A Team would say, "I love it when a plan comes together" Added those extras and reworked my meals...one gram less fat, one gram more protein, perfect carb grams, and only 30 calories over for the day. Water intake, on point. Salvaged!8

6/10 - 156.2 - Was at a wild game dinner last night so I didn't log any food as I wasn't sure how but I only had a small plate and 2 spiked sparkling waters and a light lunch before so my calorie intake shouldn't of been too horrible. Weigh in is also a few hours late as we stayed up really late and I enjoyed sleeping in. Hoping to get a walk in today between the rain storms. Happy Sunday!
6/11 - 156.2 - So close to my mini goal but also very close to the day I wanted to meet it by. Making sure I get my water in, I eat healthy and I'm going to throw in a couple extra workouts the next few days to help me get there. Was pretty relaxed this weekend when it came to exercising and my steps but it's time to up the game.
6/12 - 155.0 - please be true, please be true, please be true! I've been working hard the past few days to see this number and praying it'll stick around. I'll celebrate tomorrow if I see it again because this is my goal weight for this round plus my mini goal I wanted to reach by the 15th. And when I say celebrate, I mean with a happy dance and a new dress to wear on our anniversary.
6/13 - 154.8 - Looks like I'm happy dancing and buying a new dress! At this weight I'm 20 pounds down from the number that made me finally commit to losing weight because I never wanted to see that number again. Joining this group had been the best thing for me and I will continue on with the second half of my weight lose journey, right here, round after round. Thank you all for helping me reach this point!
6/14 - 155.0 - @ 4:00am.. a few hours earlier than I normally weigh but had to leave the house by 5 for our mini vacation!
6/15 - Anniversary

Day/Weight/Comment
6/07 189 lbs. AM did various 30 day challenges. No other workouts. Worked late and ate too many calories. Back on track tomorrow- no matter what the scale shows.
6/08 189 lbs worked out in Park, did 30 day challenges. Back on track with calories.
6/09 189 lbs. walked 8.8 miles. Overate calories by 1741 - eating out of boredom. At grandkids school function and didn’t have anything to do - so I ate. Expect to see at least a 3 lb gain tomorrow. Not for this one day but for the entire week - has been full of days going over my calorie limit.
6/10 189 lbs. walked over a total of 7 miles today (3 different walks). Ran/walked over 4 miles. Still managed to overeat by 944 calories. Still looking for that gain.
6/11 193 lbs. I found the gain. Feels like a weight is lifted off my shoulders. Walked over 2+ miles today. Then took a body sculpting class in the PM. Still went over calories by 1485. Tomorrow I take control of this ride. I have to stop this merry go round of waiting for a gain to get back to program. Okay buckle up Anita cuz this about to be a heck of a ride.
6/12 192 lbs. alternating brisk & easy walk for 7.39 miles in 2 hours 28 mins. Went over calories by 81. Made great choices for breakfast and lunch. Pretzels for dinner (what I wanted). The sodium content is way too much. Got to cut back down to three times a week. So I won’t have any pretzels until Sunday.1
