Hi everyone! I have a few months ago used this app often and lost 5kg however this a huge loop process for me...
Gain weight, lose it, gain it again.
I have a large habbit of gaining the weight back VERY quickly too.
I have recently found Alli Capsules and I was wondering if anyone here has tried these? I understand that the reviews have been mixed about how eating wrong foods on these can give you some... lets say, unpleasant side effects but I strongly believe something like that could help me adapt my eating to better foods and hopefully staying to it!

Has anyone ever used these? Or know anything similar or can help in any way?
Thank you!

I've never taken Alli, BUT, I do have a real world story to share.

I used to work at a furniture store... about 3 years ago. We once had a a female customer come into the store. Well, she had to make a break for the bathroom quite suddenly. After some time the salesperson who had been working with her complained (I was in customer service) that the lady never came back and that he'd wasted time with her. A handful of minutes passed and I went to the bathroom. What I saw I can never ever unsee.

Without going into too much gruesome detail, there was orange poo everywhere. The lady's clothes were in the trash, soiled. The lady was in one of the stalls hysterically crying. I left and told the manager about it. She went to help out the lady and basically gave her a sheet from one of the floor model beds to cover herself so she could leave the bathroom. The manager later told us the lady said she was taking Alli and she'd basically exploded everywhere. She apologized over and over. I felt bad for the lady. How embarassing and humiliating for her that must have been. Then the other customer service girl I worked with volunteered to clean the bathroom (we didn't have a cleaning service at the time, it was a brand new store). I didn't envy her position. It was the single most grossest thing I've ever seen (and I have 2 kids...so...).

So yeah... word of caution there....

I still think about this story at least once a week.

Wow... those things are still around?

I admit that I tried them very briefly in my 20's. I was smart enough to stay on a low fat diet to minimize the unwanted output but it was still uncomfortable. I went on vacation and that ended my trial run after the first day there. I was at Disney walking around and even though it was almost always sweat as soon as I felt anything I was paranoid and ran to the restroom. I was miserable and I don't remember how many times I went to find nothing but it was probably 5 or more times an hour.

You'd probably be better off having a sustainable diet than taking pills.
Don't make big changes to your diet. If you don't have much weight to lose you only need to reduce by a couple hundred calories or be a little more active.
Log what you normally eat for a couple of weeks and see where the calories are going before making changes. Then make small changes. If the issue is that you are getting portion sizes too large a food scale might help.

If you have a hectic lifestyle you could probably benefit from meal prepping. Set aside an afternoon to bake up a tray of chicken breasts then package them up with different “sides”. Having prepared meals where you know how many calories are in them will save you money and keep you on track.

When I was on Alli I avoided the worst of the side effects but I carefully monitored my fat intake/pill ratio. With these pills you must significantly reduce your fat intake but not cut it out completely. To avoid undesirable side effects. It’s orange and oily. Decidedly unpleasant.

Thanks everyone! Didn’t realise how fast i would get replies so thank you for that! I have been put off these to say the least after the comments! Thank you, I will most definitely try ways of writing what I eat and trying to meal prep, it’s difficult as I have University 3 days, the rest I work from 9-5 and weekends i work too but i will definitely not risk these pills!

Yes, when I worked long hours outside the house I found it very beneficial to spend one afternoon a week meal prepping lunches and dinners.

Honestly, it would be far more helpful to you to figure out what it is that makes you lose and gain over and over, and nip that in the bud. Losing 5kg is great, so you know you can do it it's just keeping it off which is the part a lot of people can struggle with it. There are no pills that will do it for you.

Most people work 9-5 or even longer and still manage to cook food. It's not a quick fix but I suggest you learn to cook. Not like your (well, mine anyway) mother cooked but fresh, simple ingredient, minimal prepping. Cooking doesn't need to take longer than 30 minutes, and if you cook a bit more you have something for the next day, or for lunch. Think pastas, rice or noodle dishes, quick lentil dishes, etc.

I feel that way too. I also enjoy the occasions when the sugar free Haribo are brought up. Those amazon reviews are hilarious!

Olestra potato chips did the same thing. You don't see those anymore. I gave my boss a bag of SF Jelly Bellys, he ate them on a long road trip, stopped at every rest stop over 300 + miles. He was so ticked off.

Don't start none. Won't be none. You don't want the trots.

This supplement is a bandaid that won't heal a relationship with food.
