I'm new to this whole diabetes thing. I have similar hours (5am - 2pm). Today was a package of Blue Diamond almonds and half of a chicken burger (just the burger) at breakfast (easy to eat on the go). Lunch was the other half of the burger and 2 hard boiled eggs.
493 calories
48g protein
5g carbs (only 1g sugar)
Gives me a lot of leeway for dinner.
There are a lot of combos you can take with you that are easy to chow down in a few minutes, and at the same time, low in calories and carbs, and medium to high in protein0 -
I have crustless quiche in my freezer for just such a purpose. Another favourite is refrigerator oatmeal. Greek yogurt is higher in protein.0
