No, but if you're all vaseline'd up, you can slip through tight openings and gaps in walls much easier... swooop! In ya go. Super handy if you live in a rock crevice or frequently get stuck in house crawlspaces.11 -
You’re getting some heat for this question but it’s a legitimate one, especially when so many people swear by firming lotions. I’ve wondered about those myself. 🤔 But I like all these suggestions about how to make the most of being vaselined-up!5

I'm not even sure what a fupa is. Do girls have them? Would I get fired if I put vaseline on my fupa at work?7

There is no product that will get rid of or "firm up" any body part. Don't waste your money or your vaseline. If it was that easy, we'd all walk around covered in vaseline...which would be an entirely different discussion
Weight loss will reduce body fat, though you can't control where the body burns that fat from. Strength training will help build muscle in specific parts of the body.4 -
Fupa fat upper pelvis area or pubic area0

FUPA, fatty upper pubic area.
Men and women have this area.
It is the area above the pubic bone but below the lower abdomen.
I think @Bobthedog3232 is actually referring to the lower abdomen.

Why don't you try Cool Sculpting. I haven't but I want, to. You don't see full results until 3 months and it may take 2 or 3 times, so they say. Not covered by insurance, of course. Not as dangerous as lipo which gives me the creeps.

It's purely cosmetic and it may not be the end all to beat all...

"Also, remember: Cosmetic procedures depend heavily on who is doing the procedure. Just look at how many celebrities have botched plastic surgeries. In the safety studies that led to FDA approval, skilled and closely observed physicians performed the procedure under controlled settings. Now that the procedure is available widely, you could see more misuse and damage from the procedure. If you want the procedure, choose your doctor carefully."
Don't go to some seedy hotel room and have any procedure done, like pumping up the booty with Fix-a-flat bicycle silicone you buy at the hardware store.7 -

Vaseline is just a barrier substance (occlusive). It's pretty neutral in any effect it has on the skin, aside from trapping moisture on the skin. I like using it on cuts and scrapes to promote moist healing (keeps the area moist and keeps germs out). I have an allergic reaction to Polysporin, so I use Vaseline instead and use soap to keep the area clean.
Your skin's properties and fat distribution are pretty much determined by genetics and age. If you're young and have great genetics, your skin may bounce back great from significant weight loss. If you're older and haven't been blessed in the genetic department, you may always have a sagging belly - and the only option to lessen it may be surgical.
Instead of wasting money on topical treatments that don't do anything, put some money aside for surgery when you reach your goal weight (if that's what you want).1 -

Honestly, before I came to the fora at MFP, I never realized there were so many different and distinct body parts to hate. Next time I run down the hall, I'll have to see how I feel about this new one.6 -

There are some lotions that supposedly can create temporary smoothness in cellulite, something about caffeine content, they work by bloating an area to create the appearance of solving the issue.0

Wait, are we talking about putting Vaseline in your pubic hair? I thought we were just talking about the lower abdomen, which seemed kinda odd, but...0

I guess I'm googling fupa, I've no idea what this is0

That's what I always thought it stood for. And that's why I have been SO CONFUSED when the OP keeps asking about it. Because the OP identifies as male in his profile, and um...
At this point, I'm not entirely convinced that he's not a troll.0 -

This one is relatively tame, but I have had to google several things that I have read here over the years, and I can tell you that there are some things I have seen for which I would love some brain bleach.
OP, there's not much you can do. Have you lost all the weight you plan to? Are you planning on losing more? You may find this is just one of those stubborn areas that reduce over time as you continue on.6 -
@nutmegoreo I agree. Hmmm...that's a new thread idea. What's the worst thing you've googled. Yikes.2

I don't see how vaseline would burn or destroy your skin, fat or muscle unless you manage to set it on fire.
Nivea firming lotion claims to firm and smooth the surface of your skin. It does not claim to alter what is underneath the skin. You can clean up your diet, limit your calories, exercise to develop muscle in your lower abdomen and lose weight all over, but you can't directly target a fatty pubic area for fat loss. The good news is, when you eat fewer calories than you burn, your body mobilizes fat stores for energy from all over you body. Eventually, your pubic region will slim down with this strategy, along with other fat stores in your body.
If weight loss doesn't help, you probably need surgery not a lotion.2
