What's your golden rule that you try not to break?

Never eat Grapes after 3 in the afternoon as they raise my blood sugar and it does not go down again till the next morning!5

I won't eat after 9 PM no matter how hungry I am because I'm probably going to bed soon, anyway, and I won't feel hungry when I'm sleeping.11

I never miss a Monday for working out, unless I am on vacation or sick or injured.
Don't eat out more than 2-3 meals a week. (I failed at this last week)2 -
30 minutes exercise every day.
Fruit or veggie at every meal.
At least 32 oz water per day.1 -

What's yours?
If I used this rule, I would weigh 800 pounds. Am I the only person who just really loves apples?7 -
Don't exceed my weekly calorie goal.
Do my workout each day.
No caffeine after 1 pm, or else I can't sleep.
Have chocolate every day. Unless I don't feel like it...but that hasn't happened yet.
That's it. Pretty basic, works for me. I don't want anything more "rule-like" than that.6 -

I think the trick is to find a food that you find palatable but not so delicious that you'd eat it just because. So I have a version of this rule, but I use salad greens instead of apples (because I also really love apples!).3 -
Mine is: Do not over eat. Even if I am low on calories, if I eat until I am stuffed I usually have unpleasant side effects. So I do my best not to eat until I am full or stuffed.
The other is to get in at least one 30 minute work out or activity once a week. 3 times is preferable, but if I go once a week it's better then not at all. And it's easy to stick to.

Mine is "Everything in moderation - including moderation."12

Don't lie to myself or others.6

I have a minimum amount of water I need to drink a day (or my joints get achy), treats must taste "worth" the calories or it's a waste, and the only calories worth drinking involve booze.4

Mine is “don’t demonize a food group” Aside from an allergy of course. Carbs, fats, sugars...every macro has a place in my daily diet and I don’t avoid one more than the other!9
-
I also use the apple trick! But mine is carrots. "Would you eat carrots right now? No? You're not really hungry."
Also the 80/20 rule - 80% food for fuel 20% food to enjoy. "Everything in moderation, even moderation" finally makes sense to me now!
Eat well. Be kind. Move more.6 -
Don't give into temptation and eat, sweets, candy. Crisps, pop, soda through the week.. Save it for the weekend..2
-
Focus on what matters, ignore the rest.1

Mine is to always over estimate rather than under estimate my calories. I have a pretty good idea of calories in most foods and if I don't know for sure I'll usually just assume it's at the higher end of my estimate rather than the lower end.4

Be nice and don't take other people's stuff (kindergarten ethics).2

I did this while cutting, I go the other way now that I'm bulking again!2
