Oh my gals...a NEW challenge!!! Let's do this for another six weeks (since that is what we do) so we will start tomorrow (Feb. 17) and finish at the end of March (Mar. 30). Since my goals are now rather different, I am going to leave it up to you ladies how you'd like to do this. I am going to evaluate some things and then come up with my goals. You ladies can decide how much you'd like to lose in this six week period. We should continue to weigh in on Tuesdays (and Fridays if you'd like) and post our meals and exercise plans (which I have not been very good at). SO...LET'S DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, ladies, I am going to post my goals for this challenge tomorrow morning when I post my final weigh in. I am praying that the scale will be better to me tomorrow morning than it has been the past few days. I may work out a point system for myself like Deb did (I hope you don't mind, Deb). I think it might help. Love and hugs, ladies! Gonnabfit, so glad you finally get to join in!

    Good Morning,

I hope everyone is ready for this challenge. Spring is right around the corner and we will all have to pull out our shorts and tank tops and want to look better in them this year than we did last year. I put all of our stats so far together so now when you want to post you can copy, paste, and add your stats.

I have already planned my meals for today, but must, must, must get my exercise in. I have a lot of errands to run and that uses up a lot of my energy.

Katie, I am loving this point system for getting me started on this new challenge. I hope it works out for you too. Let me know if it motivates you.

Hey all, my goal for this one is 145 which is a couple pounds less than my last goal. I've had a huge gain recently and need to get back to work!! Part of it I think is gaining muscle, but I'm not going to let that be an excuse!!!

    Back later, good luck everyone!!!!

Ok ladies, I debated what goal weight to list as 12 lbs would have been a safe goal at a 2 pound a week loss. However, I know that weight loss slows as you progress and I don't want to set myself up for failure. So I placed a goal, that I can be happy with, of one pound a week loss. So, along with that, here are my goals for this challenge:

*get in at least 64oz of water daily (the new water bottle DH got me for V-day will def. HELP!
*consume 3-5 servings fruits/veggies per day
*get in at least 90 minutes of cardio per week
*do at least 15 mins of housework per day

That last one may sound very strange to some, but it is a real struggle for me as I really HATE housework and am easily overwhelmed by it. So, I thought the spring clean challenge would be an appropriate time to add in some other aspects to my "changing me" goals.

    Ok, new haiku:

    "Fond memories of
    Hidden Valley Ranch, where I
    last saw my waistline."

    and one more:

    "Seconds on the lips-
and a lifetime on the hips,
    thighs, and upper arms."

    Love that last one!

Can't wait to hear from the rest of you all. Here's to a new challenge :drinker: (water of course:wink: )

Katie I love your last one. I'm the same way. You put housework on hold when both of us work full time and with 2 kids under 10 and 2 big dogs. I know I have been working on doing a little everyday to keep the house a little bit tidier(sp:blushing: )

I am going to put my measurements and stuff down, but I'm at work and they're at home. So I'll post more later.

    Bye ladies.

GonnaBFit, congrats on an AM bootcamp. I cannot get up in the mornings so I work out during my lunch break.

I'm in. I need this. I will weigh in later and hope that I haven't slidden halfway back up the 160s. That 159 may have given up on me. We shall see this afternoon at the gym.

Hey my lovely Sixers, so glad it's a new challenge.

Deb, Katie, I think it's great that you're using a points system for yourselves  sounds like a great idea.

Cathy, let's get back in the game together!

Kristin, those sound like great goals! But remember to be easy on yourself in the gain department. As long as you're keeping your nutrition and exercise in check, you'll gain what you gain.

AmyLou, how are things with YOU??

Lauryn, great to see you again too!

Shanell, I think cleaning is something everyone battles with in some way. Either they don't do enough of it and suffer with the mess or they do too much of it and miss out on family. Balance is tough to achieve in that area sometimes!

    Hi everyone else!

Well, I wasn't thinking about weighing in today and had a pretty salty day with not enough water so the weight is high but at least I *should* see a few of those lbs melt off this week. Good morale boost??

Haven't planned my day yet but I'm about to! I may also get back to the gym for the first time in over 3 weeks today :noway:

    May I join?
My last weigh in put me at 211lbs (I won't have access to my scales until Thursday) and I'd like to be below 200 by the end. So that's 12lbs. A bit ambitious maybe, what with a wealth of birthdays (and with my friends and family, that's aka days of food and booze) but maybe this is what I need to stay on track over that time...
  • amylou24

TuderRose, of course you can join!! Tell us a little about yourself??

Rhiannon - I am okay. Things are a bit of a mess right now. I had a great mini vacation skiing but came home to find I was behind in my school work and my personal life is just kind of up in the air and a mess right now. I think part of me assumes that having someone by my side through the whole stress and grad school thing would make it easier so I seem to focus a lot on finding that person and that gets frustrating, adding more stress. So I've been a little blue lately, and Valentine's Day hasn't helped.

So basically, I NEED this challenge!! I agree Cathy, after the last challenge, I just want to get through this one and do better than last time. Here are my goals...
    - Obviously, get to 145....8 lbs. on this challenge, it will be a loss of 15 overall.
    - Water water everyday!!!
    - Get back to my workout routine!!
    - Try not to let personal issues get me down too much and to really focus on doing well in class.

Great to see everyone, Kristin, I'm a little jealous that your challenge is to GAIN weight!! HAHA!!!

Love you all and looking forward to the challenge!!!

Thanks. About myself? Hmm, I'm a twenty year old English student (in my final year). Used to horse ride competitively and look after two horses, so could eat whatever the hell I pleased without gaining a pound. After I sold them (due to school work), I piled on some weight, then went on a diet and got a bit stupid with it (became anorexic/bulimic). After that, I piled on some more weight until, 3 years later, I weigh over 15 stone at just 5'4". I want to lose it healthily this time though! A lifestyle change, not a diet (or eating disorder).

So, besides the 199lbs target, I also aim to :
-Have no more than 2 caffeine fixes a day (I'm a caffeine fiend).
-Work out twice a week (I'm STILL lost for what to do now horse riding is off the cards).
-Not give into to urges to comfort eat, however stressful things may get.
-Be restrained through celebrations (a birthday meal for a friend, my mother's birthday meal, my own birthday meal and trip to London with my boyfriend, my housemate's birthday party (alcohol and snacks).

SO...I decided dinner...just add this after my afternoon snack of grapes...

Quaker Chewy Rainbow Chip - Granola Bar, 1 bar 130
    Total afternoon snacks 192

    Dinner
HomeMade - Crispy Parmesan Chicken Breasts, 1/6 of total 230
Potatoes - Baked, flesh and skin, with salt, 1 potato medium (2-1/4" to 3-1/4" dia) 161
Giant - Cut Green Beans Frozen, 1 cup 45
    Total dinner 436

    PM snacks

21lbs to goal weight for me. Holy cow. I can do this.

I have lost my positive attitude as of recent. Someone stole my sunshine, but I found a little bit today while jogging. Then I found a little more afterwords when I stepped on the scale. I've been controlling the night time emotional binge eating, journalling my heart out instead. It's been helping. So I set the scale to read 160, my last weight from a week ago, expecting to have my heartbroken. To my surprise, I had to bump it back-- to 158.5!! YIPPEE SKIPPEE!

Speaking of the out of control emotions (marital separation), my husband (who is still in the house because he can't really afford a place on his own yet, but I can afford the house on my own, sheesh) has decided he's really sorry he took me for granted for all these years and wants to make amends. I'm not sure I have it in me. I'm afraid I might be too far gone and over it. I feel more journalling ahead!! Why can't life be just a little easier? Just a little more clear? :ohwell:

Tudor, your goal is totally possible. I started out at 205lbs myself. Soooo much happier now, almost 50lbs gone! I've done it extremely slowly... two years worth of slow, but the weight has STAYED OFF and I am so much healthier now and more energetic and feel younger! Welcome to the Sixers, you will love this group!

AmyLou, 8lbs? GET IT GIRL! Heck yeah, do it! You are awesome! (I am wimping out with my little 4lbs goal, haha.)

Kristin, I am so glad you are monitoring your weight. I gained 60lbs :noway: during my pregnancy, already at 185lbs when I started. Yup, you did that math correctly -- 245lbs when I gave birth. It was terrible. I wish I didn't have stupid Army doctors who didn't guide me well at all. I am so excited for you. I think pregnancy is fun!! (I am totally serious.)

Rhiannon, no day like a bloated day to do an initial weigh in!! So glad you are finally feeling better.

Chipper, you seem to be healing really well. I am so glad! :flowerforyou:

Shanell, that reminded me that I need to measure. Haven't done so since Thanksgiving. Hope it turns out well! LOL

Deb, you are so right. Shorts and tanks are right around the corner, and then :indifferent: BIKINIS:indifferent: (not for me though      )

Connie, HI!!! So happy to see you returning!

RedSox, how goes the water today? (I am seriously so glad your av is no longer a Big Mac. That was killing me dude!!)

Hey Ladies! Wow, my weekend really did me in, ha! Starting off this challenge at 166.8lbs! I put my goal as 159.8lbs..which is a total of 7lbs to lose..or about 1.2lbs/week....PLUS it would put me in the 150s by the end...barely in the 150s, but none the less!!! I think this is do-able for me, as long as I continue to work out good, and control my eating a little better!
The last challenge I ended with losing 6lbs even, my goal was 8lbs, so I didnt meet it but I am happy at the progress I did make! Had I behaved myself this past weekend I would have hit it but oh well...! New challenge, new mindset :)

    :flowerforyou:
Glad to see most of you ladies back again :) You all are such a fantastic support system, I dont know what I would do without you!! I am just sorry that things get soo busy with me right now I barely have time to do the quick check in!! I am lurking and reading up when I get the chance though!

Off to the gym now.. Have a great evening ladies!!

  • Hellooooooo Ladies!!!

Way too much to write at the moment, but I saw that I made it in time for the cahallenge!! So I'm in! I've been going to the gym every weekday morning for the last couple weeks.

Drama Drama...blah blah blah....like I said above too much to say....

My goal is a huge one! But I'm determined to make it happen!!
I weigh about 190lb right now, and my goal by the end of March is to be 170lbs. Yep, that's 20 pounds. I have been drinking at least a gallon of water a day so that is on point.

Congrats Kristin! I'm soooo excited for you!! :flowerforyou:

    I'll be on soon.
