Is this possible? I am eating well and exercising just not sure how much exercise is needed to achieve this.

It may be safely possible for people who are just starting out and are very overweight. For everyone else, no.
Weight loss is created by a calorie deficit. "Eating well" and exercise can be part of that plan, but to lose weight you will want to focus on consistently creating a calorie deficit. Are you currently counting calories?10 -
That would calculate to 5 pounds lost per week. This is excessive weight loss, and the recommended rate of loss is generally 1-1.5 pounds per week. I'm not saying it is impossible, but the chances of success are decreased. Also, it's hard to sustain over time and could possibly lead to you gaining back in the long run. Slow and steady wins the race! Is there any reason in particular that you want to lose so much by that date?9

20 pounds in 30 days? No.13
-
Maybe if you lost a limb?
Otherwise not likely.1 -
Possible, maybe. Healthy, absolutely not. What is happening that you have to lose that fast?3
-
How much do you weigh? If you are extremely obese, you may be able lose up to 5 pounds a week for a few weeks, but if you are close to your goal weight (i.e. just 20 pounds over) then it will be much harder to lose any significant weight in less than a month. A pound is about 3500 calories. Unless you are currently eating 5000+ a day, you aren't going to lose a pound a day. In order to lose that much via exercise, you'd have to be running about 40 miles a day - which isn't likely either.
As stated above, losing 1% of your body weight a week is safe and sustainable. For most of us that translates to 1-2 pounds a week. If you try to lose weight too quickly, you can really harm your body because it won't be getting the nutrients it needs. Losing muscle mass, bone density, hair, etc. are all possibilities. Usually when you try to force quick weight loss, you end up over restricting for a short period of time and then binging afterward, gaining back all the weight you lost and then some.1 -
No, not possible unless you are over 400 lbs at least.
If 20 lbs is all you have to lose to get to a healthy weight, you could expect to lose around 1 lb per week. The most MFP will allow you to set is 2 lbs per week, and that is really only realistic if you are obese.
Please don't starve yourself or over-exercise for the next month. You won't lose anywhere near 20 lbs, and you will be tired and miserable for whatever is happening Sept 5. I'm going to guess they won't be weighing everyone as they show up, so just eat well, get in some exercise, and sleep enough over the next month.8 -
That is a pretty lofty goal, but is possible if you have a lot of weight to lose, like over 100 pounds, if not more. I'm obese, have lost 70lbs so far with another 75lbs to go. I average about 10lbs per month with little to no exercise. However, that is with a pretty significant deficit some days (though never consuming less than 1200 calories), and in the last 2 months I have not cheated one single time, meaning that my calories consumed has been less than my calories expended every day for the last 79 days. So for you, maybe? I'd focus on your food first, as it's much easier to create a deficit in the kitchen, and then if you can exercise, do that.
All that said, you may lose 20lbs, you may not. You may lose 5lbs or 15lbs, and that would still be a win in my book. Good luck.10 -

It is possible to have a scale victory that includes a significant amount of water weight but it is not possible to lose 20lbs of fat in a month just because you are carrying an excess of 100 lbs. The OP would need a daily deficit of over 2300 calories meaning her TDEE would have to be a little over 3500 in order to eat the minimum amount of food. She would likely have to be more than 300lbs overweight to have a TDEE that high since rigorous exercise shouldn't be tried on minimum calories. If that were the case 20lbs in a month would be great but I doubt it would be something someone would set a deadline for.
ETA: Even if someone were that much overweight 5lbs a week should not be tried without seeing a doctor.13 -

Are you 250-350 pounds overweight? If so, then 20 pounds in a month might be possible. If not, 2-8 pounds is doable. A little more if you are JUST NOW starting and lose a few pounds of water weight.
What is 100% doable? Getting started now, taking steps so that you are employing healthier habits by 9/5.6 -
Maybe if you go on the show Naked & Afraid, but I doubt it otherwise. You would literally have to go hungry each day.3
-
Possible without major health risk? No . . . unless you're a couple of hundred pounds or so overweight, and then only under close medical and nutritional supervision. Not a good plan at all.3
-
You would have to extremely limit yourself and really put in some work exercising. The goal just isn’t healthy and you should scratch it. You will be miserable and if you do succeed and go back to your regular way of eating, the weight will not stay off. Maybe aim to lose 1-1.5 pounds a week? Go slow!! It’s not a race! Be as healthy as you can for your body0

20lbs in 30 days means 0.7lbs per day.
0.7lbs × 3500cal per lbs = 2300cal
To burn 2300cal every day I need to run for 6 hours streight. Every day.
Good luck!
P.S. No, not possible.8 -
Revise that goal to 20lb by Christmas now you have yourself an achievable task.4
-
yeah, this is pushing it a bit. Ease up on yourself and just go with the pace. The weight will come off eventually.0

This is very clear!
Alternatively, lets say TOs base metabolic rate is 1600, that's the amount of calories TO's body burns regardless of any activity ('in a coma'). Then she only needs to stop eating for a whole month to burn 1600 (with not eating she'd not be able to move for most of the day), and get the remaining 700kcal from running. maybe about 8 miles a day.5 -
Unless you're obese, it may be possible or if you're lean and go the annorexic route and even then I question if you still can. Just lose weight at a sustainable rate, it's a marathon, not a sprint...there is absolutely no reason why you should damage your health for 20 lbs.0

OP looks very young, too. Perhaps too young to even be here? And isn't Sept 5th, the back-to-school date?
20 lbs in a month is dangerous. Please do not even attempt it.11 -

I wondered about that too. Around here school has already started back so I wasn't sure and I also thought that could be the OP's kid.

In Canada, schools are back in at the beginning of September.
And 'lizardmama" could likely just mean she has a pet lizard.2 -

Bingo. I've been seeing similar posts on another board that I read.1 -

Can lizards survive in Canada with all that freezing weather?
I have no idea if that is her or not. I was going to say something yesterday about her potential age and then thought about how often the avatar is not the poster's pic. She is not too young to learn about dangerous dieting methods if she is considering one.

Slow and steady wins (1/2 lb to 1lb per week).

The US is weird in this. Some places in the south have already started. I'm in the midwest and everyone here goes back in the next week or two. Then everyone else in the country is usually after Labor Day weekend (the first weekend of September).0 -
You mean by September 5th, 2019? Sure. Totally doable.4
