There are two runners.
One guy wears minimalist shoes, and complained his feet hurt all the time.
One woman has run 1,000 miles using just one pair of shoes, and complains her feet are in pain.
Should you point out the obvious? Asking for a friend.

Finally!! Hot and very humid, but it felt great to get out. Y'all jinxed me. Normally I don't encounter dogs even though I run thru neighborhoods, but today it was like a dog parade. Some loose, some not all putting a serious crimp in my flow. One I actually had to stop and stay with because she was loose and was almost hit. I stayed with her until her owner came meandering up.
Does anyone use Strava? My app keeps experiencing an error at 1.1 miles and stops tracking. Tonight I ran GoogleFit as a back up. I've uninstalled and then redownloaded the app more than once. Does anyone else have issues?
That's a sweaty face

To go back to @LaDispute57 ‘s question: My hubby was in the military for a long time and decided he would not run again after getting out. He does hike and bike, so he is active. He doesn’t understand why I WANT to run since he was forced, but he has been supportive and told me that he is proud of all the work I have put into marathon training. Then, in the next breath he says I should skip the marathon so we can go on a vacation instead... He travels some for work now, so my running doesn’t interfere too much. I don’t think he would ask me to stop.
@PastorVincent REI is great, especially if you join the co-op and get the dividends. We have their credit card too just so that we can get extra on the dividend. Hubby and I get really excited about our spring “free” shopping trip.

I skipped my run last night because of a thunderstorm warning. It never rained.
Tonight, I ran until an alert came through on my watch and the thunder and lightning were THISCLOSE together. Again, it never rained. I only got in 2.9 of my scheduled 4.5. Dang it, tomorrow I’m just going to keep running until the downpour starts.6 -

90% humidity killed me hard on this run. Felt like I lost years off my ability to run! But I got 9 done and still had time to go out to dinner with the wife. So all is good.8 -
Have to share this and I don’t know where else, so you guys get it.
Today’s my one year anniversary of logging in daily on mfp. I haven’t always tracked calories, but I always logged in. I also hit 10K steps for the day. Just gonna do a little happy dance over here.26 -

Good job!!!!1 -
Ran 12.01 miles tonight, and I had decided to cut back miles this week and next to give my body some recovery time. Then will go back to progressive weekly increases.

Regular 7.5km loop plus a bunch of striders. I know it must've been hot and humid because my glasses were fogging up, but it didn't really register. Maybe I've finally (finally!) gotten acclimated to the heat?
@eponine1984 great job!
Upcoming races:
20181027 Mogan Ultra 30k
20181118 Shanghai Marathon (maybe)4 -
@PastorVincent dew claws are like thumbs on some dog breeds and i believe all cats. On dogs they are often removed since there is the risk of them getting caught and torn off. On dogs, i dont think theres even a bone in there. Cats on the other "hand" 😂have fully functional dew claws. Google can show you a pic if interested.5

Rest day today. My ankle is still giving me grief so went and talked to my physio - handy working in a hospital. he took one look and said shin splints. I said that kinda makes sense given the extra ks I was doing this week, and I got it after doing a 7, 5, 10 then 5. He hit me with the need to rest, ice straight after runs from now on and rest. He checked my shoes, said they are fine (happen to be my older pair of running shoes). so Rest.
So I guess I'm resting until this eases up. It doesnt hurt when walking/running, just at rest. stupid overdoing it. grrr. so trying to keep my feet up - difficult in my job. and Icing. easier in my job.
@PastorVincent did I read your post right, 2 races in one day? your insane. in the best possible way. but still insane.7 -

Lol, I think you did misread - I count 3 races in one day.
Also, sorry about your ankle. Hope you feel better soon!5 -
Nature was really against me today! Managed to get up nice and early, decided to head back up the same way I went the other day for today's shorter run just to make the most of the hills. Once I got out onto the road the wind was so strong it was almost blowing me backwards! That and the hill had me having to resort to making myself alternate running and walking 100 steps each up the hill and taking a 2 minute break at the top, but got my 5km in and speeding up on the way back down again actually led to a faster than usual average pace.

Hey,
I finally managed to run again this morning. The heat resulting in terrible nights kept me from getting my butt out there in the mornings. I'm too tired already and running will make my day entirely comatose. I'm still waiting for the endorphins and all the extra energy during the day after starting it with sports Let's be honest: when I run in the morning, I'm pretty tired in the office and it does not have to do with the shorter amount of sleep because I wake up that early anyway. I'm definitely not there yet and don't enjoy my morning runs.
I was always wondering, why my pace/distance differed between my Garmin and Runkeeper. Today, I checked the GPS track and realised that Runkeeper includes all my little curves, while Garmin is rather smoothing out the track. Which is why the distance is off and therefore also the pace. It's not a huge difference (~10s/Km) but I was confused.

Yeah, I have said many times... do not do as I do, unless you want to court being hurt. Many times I have done 2 races in a single day, and both races be a PR attempt. Many people tell me that is stupid. Well, I listened so now I will do 3 PR attempts in one day!
I also do not take time off after a marathon, and last year I ran my first ultra 6 days after my fastest Marathon ever. I had plenty of warnings against that too. Plan to do that again this year.
Again, I would not recommend anyone do as I do. Not at least until you know a lot more about how far you can push it.
Keep in mind, I run to survive not to win races. The races are just ways for me to have targets and things to plan for.

Thunderstorms pushed my running to tomorrow. I'm bummed about not running, but thrilled for the rain. We have had less than 1/4 inch of rain at my house since early June. Was debating on running today anyway; ankle could use the extra day of rest too. Funny how things work themselves out sometimes.8

Oh, the things one does when they start to drink the crazy kool-aid of this running thing. I just now signed up for a half marathon that is TONIGHT.
I was having trouble figuring out when I could get my long run in around various things and the stupid humidity. I was planning on tomorrow morning with a run group, but that was cancelled because the coaches are out of town and the humidity was supposed in the 90% range again. I certainly couldn't stomach that by myself. This evening is supposed to be only in the 50% range and high 70s temp. Dew points aren't much different so I probably won't love it regardless, but at least it should be more fun as part of this small town race. Plus bling! If I had known I was going to do this, I might not have done that tempo run last night...live and don't learn...
