Rice Cakes?

@RedPowder
Plus just wanted to add this! Don't look at weight loss as a hundred yard dash, but rather a marathon. Sure it would be nice if we could all snap our fingers & the weight would just magically all melt off; unfortunately, that's not the case. Go into this process trying to lose weight as healthfully as possible (that's not to say you have to eat nothing but 'healthy food'), but you want to instill healthy habits into your daily regime that will last a lifetime.2 -

Also good with Laughing Cow cheese. I have Gouda right now.
OP, please heed the advice here and eat more. As long as you eat less calories than your body burns, and you have no health issues, you will lose weight. It’s a learning process. Best of luck!
I like Laughing Cow too, but I'm just super hooked on cream cheese (and low fat ricotta) !0 -
How much actual fruit & veggies are you eating? They are high volume, low calorie, and help keep stuff moving along.1

Just because the topics popped back up I’ll share my changes.
I’ve been eating rice Cakes with peanut butter and also been having them with my fish. Today for my Dinner I had them with my noodle soup which was pretty bodanging.
@Fire usually fruit and veg are a big part of my diet and something I count on to give me enough energy and nutrients throughout the day.
My diary’s open to friends to feel free to add me if you want to have a peak.
Edit: I forgot to add I found this Carmel rice cakes and omg they’re to die for they taste like popcorns Yummmmmmy4 -
One of my favourite snacks is white cheddar rice cakes topped with pepper jack cheese so good!2

I like to put a little cheese over a rice came and heat it up. Crunchy with warm, melted cheese.0

As a type 2 Diabetic, I can tell you Carbs are just sugar waiting to happen. But Rice cakes aren't terribly loaded with them compared to many grain/bread products.5

I love them! Aldi has sour cream and onion flavoured ones that I eat on their own (great replacement for fatty chip cravings!), and the plain ones, I have with avocado or dip. I also love the ones from Aldi that are covered in dark chocolate on one side. I’ve been losing weight while enjoying all of these.1

You should start a recipe thread & recreate his leaning tower of rice cakes .
Too easy
Have you seen his leaning tower of rice cakes? Some of them are pretty massive. Could be interesting to see the combos you come up with.0 -
Didn't even know rice cakes were still a thing
They were hot in the 80's and 90's.0 -
I’m certainly no expert and new to this forum but as far as what to eat I can tell you what I did and over the past 7 months I have lost 60 pounds and have never been in better shape. I’ll qualify those 50 were hard to loose since I am 6’2 and started at 210lb. I pre make everything on the weekends and put them into Tupperware so it is ready to go. I go by the Costco bags of chicken brests thaw them out. I put them in large zippy bags 6 in each with different marinate. Then I bbq them and add them to the Tupperware with brown rice and that’s 3 of my 5 meals that day. I NEVER snack and only eat planned meals. I have a beer or two on the weekend and I don’t feel like I am going to kill anyone. This usually hits 1500-2k per day depending on dinner but breakfast is my biggest meal and dinner is my smallest with small ones in between. I workout hard every day usually burning around 500 calories.5

Do you like rice cakes? Not to stereotype but you dont really look like the rice cake type. Just asking because although carbs won't sabotage your diet....forcing yourself to eat things you dont like will.
I dont know...maybe you love the rich flavors of rice cake but to me they taste like freeze-dried sadness.6 -

I hope you know the GI on rice cakes are extremely high and the body metabolizes into glucose regardless.....in terms of being a diabetic.1 -
I had to explain rice cakes to my teenager. lol However, in all seriousness, if you like it eat it, if not then don't. If there is something you like more, go for it.1

He doesn't appear to be eating them in isolation (from his description -- I haven't looked at his diary), so I don't think the glycemic index of the rice cakes on their own is all that important.0 -
Who'da thunk it? 3 pages on rice cakes and no has posted the fish and rice cakes guy.......0
