I’m not the most physically fit person so this is a huge accomplishment for me but probably really small to anyone else haha, but I jogged for 10 minutes today (twice with a walking break in between) without stopping. 2 weeks ago I couldn’t even jog for 2 minutes without needing to stop40

Ha! I've got two to share. Yesterday I volunteered at the European Championships Marathon. When all of us volunteers met up before the race, a few ladies got talking about the clothes we were given (Nike sponsored the event, so that was pretty awesome). They complained about the jackets not fitting, because they can't zip them up, not even the XL. When I apparently gave them a weird look, they told me that I wouldn't understand because I'm so slim! Errrr, who, me??? I'm certainly not slim yet, but apparently I've made enough progress to seem slim to some others.
The second one was this morning. I went to my wardrobe to get dressed for work and didn't find any pants because I'd forgotten to do laundry. Damn! Then I spied this one pair of jeans all the way in the back. I haven't worn them in at least two years because they were so extremely uncomfortable, and then I couldn't even zip them up anymore. So I thought what the heck and gave them a try. Well, whaddaya know?! Not only did they zip up easily, they're also pretty comfortable, look great and only give me a slight muffin top when sitting down!25 -

I wore a bikini on saturday and felt ~fiiine~. The bottoms were not the most flattering (bought at a time when I was kidding myself I was a size smaller and were a little tight), but I still felt amazing. First time I've felt confident wearing a bikini amongst friends in pretty much forever. Definite win!29

For the first time in about 4 years, I got ‘carded’ at the liquor store on Saturday. When I went “you’re kidding, right?” (I’m 31, not just annoying about being carded), the cashier scoffed “You must get this all the time”. I could have hugged her, as I’ve been struggling with feeling like I look old and tired lately. Almost had to have something to do with my weight loss, I think.26

Climbing the ladder to clean out the gutters on my house was much less scary than it was last fall!22

I almost feel like I am being a little vain when age comes up and I tell people I am a few months from 60. I am fit and trim and while my hair isn't as thick as it used to be, I still have most of it, keep it pretty short and a lot of people get the salt and pepper (though mine is mostly salt now ) hair at a relatively young age. Anyway, I feel like I am fishing for compliments whenever I mention my age because I pretty much always get one. Especially the last couple of months as over time the neck wrinkles from the loss have become less noticeable.14 -
There's a store going out of business here. They are kind of Macy's level in terms of pricing - they have some pricey pieces that are now going under deep cuts (80% off right now, with an extra 30% off after the 80%). Anyway, I found a beautiful Calvin Klein winter coat in a Large that fit perfectly. If I had tried it on two months ago, it wouldn't have fit, and there were no XLs available. Got a $320 coat for $35.43

How I spent last weekend, cleaned out and washed down guttering, down pipes and fascia - really good workout!10 -
In the past year, my cardio conditioning has gone from 'fair' according to Fitbit, to 'Good'. It took a lot of work but I'm damn proud25

Loaded my pickup with yard waste which included large cement blocks and headed to the landfill. When I backed in and put the tailgate down the young men next to me saw the cement pieces and one said "let me give you had with those". I just smiled at him and said no thanks I got it. I picked up the first piece and launched it into the pile. His buddy laughed and said "uhhhhh, yes, you definitely got it" Can I just say that being over 50 and a girl usually means you are completely invisible to younger people (in my opinion only) but in that moment I felt relevant and strong in addition to glad that I got my crap cleaned out? A good day indeed40

I can do a 10 min jumping jack workout in it’s entirety.
I’ve been going through a pretty awful and exhausting depressive episode, but by the grace of god I’ve managed to stay on track with my workouts and diet. There’s been a lot of crying during and after workouts, a lot of inner dialogue going on, and just plain ole willpower. A lot of spite too, because this is one battle I’m not letting my demons win.
You're amazing. I, too, struggle with working out. My muscles are weak and my stamina isn't great. I'm totally with you on the tears during and after workouts. Doesn't it feel great to be doing it, though? Keep on keeping on. I'm rooting for you!10 -
@DoubleUbea , normally I do meal prep, but sometimes I just underplan or can't take another rice bowl! And that's where I run into problems and loose focus. This is just a back up plan! I realize that I could be a little more proactive in my prep. For awhile I was suuuper into it and "crazy prepped" (as my husband put it!), but I found I was burning out and making all kinds of shortcuts after a lil while. Now I'm much more laid back about it, you could say. But I feel like it's much more manageable for my life. And, I suppose, finding healthy maintainable balance is what matters!10

My latest NSV:
For the last month it hurt me too much to even walk in the park for more than 10 minutes. I'd leave the house and turn right back around. After researching stretches and massages for tight muscles and to increase flexibility, I can finally walk mostly pain free for over an hour.31 -

...err, MFP? That particular kitten is a perfectly good British term for a ditch and/or wall, often used to mark boundaries in the middle ages. In Scotland the word is used extensively to refer to walls, particularly drystane ones. Just so you know.

Have loved reading this thread regularly through it all..always gives me a boost of inspiration to see you all smashing it. Never believed I would make it to this point, but here's to the next year!

- First ever plank - only lasted 10 seconds, but I have a starting point.
- Going through a 'manic' phase of my bipolar, and successfully breathing through most of the panic attacks that come as part and parcel of that.
- The dragon coat is nearly slain! I reckon another inch off my true waist and it'll be on, buttoned and worn to death.

I have finally reduce my carbohydrate intake and my protein is up. Achieving this was difficult for me. My fat macro is higher than I would want but that is due to the avocados I eat.9

A pair of workout shorts that I bought 2 months ago look less sausagie (is this even a word? 🤔) on me. Another 10 lbs loss and they will fit like a glove.29

Congrats on the plank (and the other ones as well, of course)! I started right where you started, when I started working with my trainer Jan 2016. Sometime in the spring we made a bet, on our last training session of 2016 we’d start planking together, and he would have to plank double whatever I can last. I worked my *kitten* off the rest of the year because I just wanted to see him struggle with it. I lasted 2 minutes, and seeing him struggle through the 4-minute plank was soooo satisfying after having him make me work hard all year. Sausagie is definitely a word, or at least it should be! Also, congratulations on the shorts. I wish I could wear shorts for workouts, but the chub rub struggle is real.
I do have some personal NSV:s to report as well: I just returned from running an entire 5K. I’m not counting the two traffic lights I had to stop in, I ran the entire thing. It took 40 minutes, which is surprisingly fast for me, as I’m slooooow. I just checked my C25K app and although I skipped some workouts in the program and some weeks in the time, I did go from couch (April 22) to 5K (August 14). Slowly but surely. During my run today, the same woman passed me not one, not two, but three times. I reminded myself that I’m still lapping everybody who’s still on the couch, and kept going.
I went shopping with a friend today, and I tried on a dress that didn’t look sausagie. Instead, it was nightgownish and I didn’t buy it. I did buy two cardigans and a shirt, none of which were XL.
