Does This Uterus Make My Stomach Look Fat?

It seems there have been a slew of posts lately of slender women thinking there is something wrong with their stomachs because they aren't completely flat. Instagram and photoshop have warped our views of what a normal female body looks like. Not to mention that female body shapes and fat storage patterns change as we transition through puberty, after childbirth and through menopause. We have extra internal organs, hormones affecting water retention, not to mention extra fat is needed to support giving life to another human.
I thought this blog was fantastic.

I get it...no one LIKES having extra fat on their tummy, BUT it is perfectly normal. I feel like we need to have a sister companion to the "So you want a nice stomach" thread showing what "normal" nice stomachs look like. I'm not talking about people in competition prep, but what a bodybuilder looks like in the off season. What women with a normal BMI look like. Yes, you can work hard, eat right and have an awesome stomach, but chances are you are still going to have rolls when you bend over, your lower abdomen is going to curve somewhat and if you don't stand up straight, your gut will push out.
I'd love to see women in the normal BMI range post front and side pics along with the following information so people can see the wide range of "normal". I'd also love to see ladies who fall outside the normal range due to above average muscle mass so that people can see that weighing more is not necessarily a bad thing.
Age:
BMI or Height/Weight/Bone Structure:
BF%: If you know
Number of Pregnancies:
Medical Conditions affecting appearance: ex. Diastasis Recti, Retroverted Uterus, Scoliosis, Fibroids, etc.
Primary form of exercise: ex. Weights, Biking, Running, Pilates, etc.
Number of years doing aforementioned exercise:

Just for a bit of context, would you want to say how long you've been working towards this point? What you've achieved isn't something that most people should reasonably expect to do in 6 months of diet and exercise... even with no pregnancies.15 -
Good point @jjpptt2. I will add number of years exercising to the pertinent information. Over 2 years recomping for me.
Shoot - the edit time has elapsed on the initial post. Ladies, also include number of years doing the aforementioned exercise.

@sunflowerhippi - that pic with your daughter copying you in the background is priceless. LOL Thank you for posting.
Thank you also @quicksylver123 and @Cassandraw3 for showing what a slightly overweight BMI with extra muscle mass looks like. I think it's a great distinction for people to see.22 -
No pics of me. Not brave enough.

Just bookmarking.
Great idea for a thread @mom23mangos
I will be back later with some recent pics.
Glad to see some of my most admired women joining in.
Cheers, h.12 -
this is one of the BEST THREADS EVER on mfp!
rock on sistahs!!!!
id post but not to normal BMI range yet lol22 -
I love this! In my case, I think not having a uterus contributes to the belly area (hysterectomy Nov 2017). Tummy certainly isn't as tight as before, but I'm working in it!6

@New_Heavens_Earth - I understand your shyness. Thank you for giving us insight into other conditions that can affect the appearance of the abdominal area.
@shadow2soul - what another great example of good posture. And another absolutely adorable photobomb!!
@middlehaitch - can't wait to see your updated photos!
@MsHarryWinston, @lynn_glenmont, @callsitlikeiseeit, @funjen1972 - thank you for your support of the greater sisterhood!9 -
I haven't been ready to reveal an official before/after, but I feel this is relevant and important to share. It's something I've been insecure about, but have also come to accept that it is part of having a women's body. My stomach's with me through thick and thin (heh). It seems to always have a bit of a paunch, and that's partly due to chronic bad posture. Something I'm working on. But even with that corrected it will still remain, and I'm okay with that. Because it's perfectly normal.
Had to upload my pic via mobile, so ETA stats:
Age:30
BMI:124
BF%: 30% ish by last calculations
Number of Pregnancies: 0
Exercise: Walking, and bodyweight/ cardio 1-3 times a week.
Medical Conditions affecting appearance: I had school nurses tell me I might have scoliosis, but I never got it checked out. I may have mild scoliosis, or just bad posture. I don't know.
Also to add, it doesn't seem to matter what I weigh, even when I was 115 lbs (that was eons ago, like JR high) The little stomach pooch was still there. At this point I can work to tone up the muscles underneath, and correct my posture as much as I can but I'm sure the little fat pouch will be there. Because that's how women's bodies are built. The flat stomach washboard abs all these ladies see on Instagram are nothing more then lighting and posing, and sometimes photoshop.20 -
Love this thread! All those ‘fat tummy’ threads were making me so sad.
Thank you all for sharing. Maybe one day when I’m not pregnant I can share mine too 🤞🏻13 -
Also, here's a good article about an Instagram model who showed her reality behind that perfect "insta" pose.

Big love for this thread. I have a huge belly from my two pregnancies and about fifty pounds extra right now. I know that when I lose the weight, the belly skin and curves will remain. There may be days I get frustrated, but my goal is to feel strong and be comfy in my clothes and I'll have to remind myself of that often. You all are amazing.13

Thanks for the suggestion! I was able to to do that.
@Crafty_camper123 - thank you for sharing. I love your attitude and self-acceptance.
@PennyP312 - Your uterus really IS making you look fat!!! Bwahahahah
@lilyreallywill - Best of luck to you reaching your goals. Feeling strong and being comfortable is a great goal to have.4 -
Oh, I only have underwear pics, I will have to take some when I have some daylight tomorrow. Bookmarking.7

Age: 38
BMI: 24.7
BF%: 24-26%
Number of Pregnancies: 1
Primary form of exercise: It was boxing but now I’m into more variety. I still box once a week. I also weight lift twice a week, Jazzercize once a week, and run 2-3 days for about 3.5 miles each run
This is a post I shared fairly recently on my Instagram. Learning to accept and love my body has been a journey. I love the idea of supporting each other to drop the unrealistic expectations26
