Round 50
Goals
Log everyday
Eat under daily allowance
Strengthening exercises every 2nd day
Day/Weight/Comment
8/16 150
8/17 149.5 Yippie skippy, my migraine is gone, finally. The smoke from the fires in BC is going away from the coast and they took my headache with them. I can’t imagine how horrible it is for all the folks living in smoke for weeks. 3 days just about did me in.
8/18 149.5
8/19 149.5 yippie! Two weeks of zero movement so I went down 200 cals. a day and finally seeing progress again. It doesn’t make sense cico but I am happy to see that darn scale move. I really was wondering if it was just stuck!
8/20 148.5 Smoke is really bad today
8/21 148 The the smoke is bad again today so outside activity is out for me. Tomorrow I will check out the gym if the smoke is still bad. The 200 calorie drop seems to have jog my body enough to start loosing again. It could be just fluke though, lol.
8/22 147.5 This drop is faster than I want so I will go up 100 calories. I am getting better sleep, using a tiny bit of melatonin. Plus I finally got some kombucha made after letting that slide for months so maybe that has helped with the bloat. The smoke is still too thick so it is indoor body exercise only for me.
8/23 148.5 well so much for going up 100 calories, I kind gave myself and inch and took a mile, sheesh, brandy, cheese and nuts as a snack with dh last night put me way over!
8/24 148 I am going to go to the pool this morning. I haven’t be motivated to go all summer. There are just too many interesting things to do outside in summer but it will be good for to get in the water and move so off I go!
8/25
Wishing each of you a day in wish you are in control and filled with joy!14 -
This challenge.. is like your own little food diary, very telling about your relationship/ struggles with food! So very insightful!12

@SheilaBoneham, Thank you! Yes, those ups and stay puts, I've learned to be patient with them. My body knows what she's doing and I'm doing the right thing to lose. Agreeing wholeheartedly about carrying the 70 lb Lab and LOL at her walking on her own 4 feet. I can't even pick up my 50 lb Granddaughter! How did I carry my own 70 extra pounds on top of 50 more extra? Which is my year 2 goal, minus 50.
YAAAAAAAY YOU! I am so happy for you! Two pounds to go! You will be at your goal weight very soon!7 -

Day/Weight/Comment
8/16 180.8 Close to a new decade! My workout buddy is back from her camping trip so the day has begun with a workout.
8/17 181.8 No idea why, did my work out, exceeded my step goal and was on target with calories. I am tired and grumpy today so will have to be on my guard re emotional eating.
8/18 180.4 I did eat a chocolate bar yesterday, but only one. I ate it slowly and enjoyed every bit and I stayed within my calories so yay me! In the past I ate chocolate bars the way other people smoked cigarettes, one before work, one at break, one before lunch, one or two after lunch etc etc, 7 or more in a day. So one and done is great.
8/19 181.8 mea culpa - did fine most of the day, but fell back into old habits in the evening mindessly grabbing a handful of this or that whenever the opportunity arose. Woke up with a cold this morning - so I am going to have a quiet day. Somehow knowing that there is a reason why I feel like carp makes it easier to stay on track.
8/20 183.6 - pride goeth before a fall
8/21 184.4 What the hey! I was on track yesterday, logged everything, stayed under calories, got all my steps. Well quitting won't help so I guess I'll soldier on.
8/22 182.0 Whew! Thanks for all the hugs yesterday - love this thread. Now to get to work to see if I can actually end this round with a loss.
8/23 181.6
8/24 181.4 Late getting online today - went for fasting blood work this morning. Long wait at the lab and sooo hungry by the end. Starbuck bran muffin and an oz of almonds for my very late breakfast.

Just Give Me 10 Days - Round 52
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10690801/just-give-me-10-days-round-51/p1?new=15 -
R49--AW: 220.7 EW: 221.3
Goals:
1. Scheduled Activity 7/10 days
2. Get water in
Day/Weight/Comment
8/16--220.4. This is why I find weighing everyday very helpful. Looking back at my weight from last round I now know that water weight from my excessive carb snacking took 2 days to show up on the scale and 1 day to go away. Now for the next time this happens, because at some point it will happen again, I now know not to stress over the temporary water weight gain. Now tonight is dinner and a movie, so I know there will be a temporary gain, but to help reduce some of the water weight gain my game plan is to eat lighter before dinner, drink only water including during dinner, plan what I will eat for dinner ahead of time, and take the dog out for a walk when I get back from the movie (the air here is starting to clear up).
8/17--220.4 I am happy to say that other than taking 3 sips from my husband's drink at dinner, I did everything that I had planned to do. I didn't want to take the dog out for a walk after the movie, but then I knew that I had posted it here yesterday, so I went out for the walk and I am happy that I did. I call yesterday a NSV.
8/18--219.7 This morning I am going out to breakfast to one of my favorite breakfast places, but like my dinner and movie night 2 days ago, I have a plan. I am going to an early Kettlebell class before breakfast, I will go for a walk of at least 2 miles after breakfast, I will eat lighter for the rest of the day, and I will go for a walk and/or bike ride in the evening.
8/19--219.3 Yesterday, I did everything from my plan. I also finished organizing the entry way, even though it did take longer than I had hoped. Other than a bike ride this morning and a long walk later today, my plan is to relax for most of the day.
8/20--220.0 My stomach is feeling unsettled today, hopefully it will work itself out by tomorrow. Week long step competition with sister-in-law is back on starting today even though the air is hazy from the fires. The air should be clearing up late Wednesday, so I will have to adjust until then. I'm going for a short walk at lunch today and then Zumba tonight.
8/21--219.5 Did not go to Zumba last night as I had a headache from the smoke in the air and I did the same thing I did last time this happened, I had excessive carb snacking. However, the positive of everything was that this time I did not snack as much. So, if it's just like last time the water weight from my snacking last night should show up tomorrow; however, I am going to drink a lot of water today and see if I can offset some of the water retention. Today the air is in the unhealthy levels and I already have a headache, so today I will not be going outside for a walk at lunch and will probably spend the evening hanging out with the dog.
8/22--220.2 Right on plan, there is the water weight from the excessive carb snacking 2 days ago. Still dealing with the air from the fires, but it's supposed to start clearing up tonight. Yoga tonight, I definitely need it.
8/23--219.7 I hope I don't see the 220's again I've been fluctuating around there for awhile. It was so good to feel a couple of drops of rain this morning to clean out the air.
8/24--219.1 Now that the air is so much better my plan is to go for a walk at lunch, assuming that it isn't raining. Hopefully, it will be nice this evening as well and I can take my dog out for a much needed long walk. Over the last couple of days I realized that it's my evening snacking that is really affecting my rate of weight loss. I have to work on really listening to my body and determine whether I am really hungry or not in the evenings and if I am hungry then I need to have filling snacks that I enjoy readily available.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
8/16 133.5 Soooo, the cat woke me at 4AM because he thought that was a good time for breakfast. I didn’t so was going to put him in his carrier. When I pivoted, the toe of my shoe caught in the grout line and we went down. I hit my ribs on the refrigerator and skinned one knee. Pretty sure I’m going to have a bruise but currently sitting with a well wrapped ice pack on my side. I don’t think anything is broken. I think Oskar is going to be restricted at night to the sewing room and bathroom in the future. (Master suite)
8/17 133.5 I slept in the recliner last night and got over 8 hours in spite of my sore ribs and ice pack. At lunch I ate French fries. They were perfectly cooked - crispy! I ate about 1/3 and gave the rest to Carl. I’m still in nutritional ketosis this morning so that’s good. We’ll see what the scale thinks tomorrow or Sunday!
8/18 136.0 (!) That’s what carbs do! I was hurting yesterday from my fall and ate 1/2 a pita with my Greek salad w/ gyro meat. The price I pay for 2 high carb days!
8/19 135.0 Some of my lady friends are coming over to eat, drink, and sew. I wish I felt better. My ribs are better but getting anything accomplished is exhausting. We were out last night, I went to bed late and woke early. DD#2 is going to cut my hair. She is a school teacher but gives better haircuts than the salons I have visited.
8/20 134.5 Two of my friends came over yesterday. We enjoyed good conversation, Keto snacks and adult beverages. Vodka/soda
8/21 135.5 Picked up roasted chilies and ate at one of our fave restaurants last night. Sure there were carbs in that green chili but it was so good! I was in agony by the time we got the chilies in the freezer but feel much better this morning. Back on the heating pad.
8/22 135.5 I am uncomfortably bloated. I think a result of too many cruciferous veggies in the last few days. UGH!
8/23 134.5 I could see the bloat leaving yesterday. It was weird. I’ve never experienced that before!
8/24 133.5 (134.6 9 day avg) Leaving for the airport in about 40 minutes. I’m not counting on having a scale for the next 15 days. I’ll be keeping notes and post, at least a “hello,” when I can.16 -

8/24 - Out of town on business (no scale) Oh My, here it goes: YESTERDAY’S STATS: 167 Net Carbs. 2870 Calories In / 2475 Calories Out. 6,857 total steps. 3.32 total miles. 11/13 (250) fitbit hours. Fasted 16:8 (sleeping and skipping breakfast). I made good choices until the evening when I attended the dinner at the Chinese buffet. I honestly could have eaten more, so I felt I was somewhat restrained. However the numbers show differently. More calories out than in because I was stuck sitting during a seminar most of the day. Going home today. Will try to get some extra movement in but driving home will make it tough. Long drive. I will chose carefully during my travels today on what I put in my trap. I will try to mitigate the damages of this trip and end this round at least at the weight I started. So many of you inspire me. I know I am not on this journey alone and we all have our struggles and challenges at times. Thanks for all the help & hugs.

About me: 61, 5'7", in maintenance since March this year. Serial loser and regainer of 20 and determined not to slide back up this time.
Round 49 report = Start = 126.4 * Ave = 127.4 * Min = 125.6 * Max = 129.2 < and that was scary.
Round 50 GOAL = Maintain weight edging back down from the high part of my zone by getting workouts back in the mix.
8/16 - 127.0 - Yesterday under maintenance calories, clear enough after work to run; so I settled for am introductory 2 miles, then discovered I had the wrong key and ran 1.5 more.
8/17 - 128.4 - Yesterday not a day of power.
8/18 - 128.0
8/19 - 128.8
8/20 - 127.6 - I keep missing days, both here and in logging. I am lucky I have not gained more. Smoke in the valley is significant, headache pain, fighting with a new pillow that's increased neck and shoulder pain. Too beat up for self-care, that's the conundrum. Back at it today. Yesterday made myself do a large canning project in spite of migraine. Garden waits for no one. So at least I was on my feet and active much of the day.
8/21 - 128.4 - Logged yesterday, slightly over maintenance calories, worked standing up all day yesterday (standing workstation helps with head-neck-shoulder pain), and got a small workout yesterday on elliptical. Calf really tight when running, but didn't go into spasms.
8/22 - 129.8 - NOPE NOPE NOPE. Okay, this is how close I had to get to the top of my maintenance range (130!!) before calling a halt. Somehow in the morning, using discretion about food seems like a good idea, but I have definitely been self-medicating for stress, neck and shoulder pain, anxiety, or sleeplessness (take your pick, excuse of the day) with food. Problem is: IT. DOESN'T. WORK. So far today, healthier choices.
8/23 - 127.8 - under maintenance calories, over 10K steps, took a walk with some running at the end, calf still tight but working with it. This is what maintenance is, what a couple of friends once told me: we see that number coming and we return to more diligent care. It will take a little time before I really feel like it's "reined in" but I do feel better today.
8/24 - 127.4 - at maintenance calories, 8K steps but some calf pain. Busy work days coming for the next week and more. Stayed up too late with some old, old emotional rollers. Healing is a life long thing, and I am up for it: what else do I have to do?17 -
@quiltingjaine have a great time!!!!!3

Enjoy the time away. I'll also be gone for three or four days next week and will be back at the last day of Round 51. Will try at least to post how its going on the camping trip each day. Have a good weekend everyone. Here's to a good close of round 50 tomorrow!13
