I’m 34 from Aus. Starting my weight loss journey. Looking for people who have similar circumstances.
Goal to lose 30kg I’ve just started on Duromine 30mg tabs (day 1)

Why are you taking Duromine? Suppressing your appetite artificially will teach you nothing about portion control and fueling your body properly. Anything you lose, you will likely regain as soon as you stop taking drugs. It's a pointless ride.
"Side Effects: can cause restlessness, insomnia, agitation, increased heart rate, headaches, increased blood pressure, dry mouth and vomiting."
Sounds charming, but I'll pass.5 -

I didn’t ask for an opinion on my choices, I was looking for people who have similar circumstances eg- a 30kg weight loss and just starting out.

The Duromine gives me the energy that I need to keep my body moving and it helps with my headaches and nausea. I have been on it for 2 weeks. In the first week I lost 4kgs and the second I didn’t lose much about .5kgs1

Are you referring to headaches and nausea caused by not eating it side effect of Duromine?
I’ve just started the tabs today. I feel nothing. 🤷♀️ Hoping I don’t get any of the bad side effects though.

People who struggle, tend to focus on the wrong things. They see connections where there are none, and fail to se the connections that are, what's important, and why, and what isn't. They don't know the difference between the general/universal and the specific/individual, between theory and practice, method and process. They trust their emotions and what they perceive as authority. They want to be told what to do, but refuse to accept limitations. They want support from others who have the same problems, instead of advice from people who have solved them. They are anxious and irritable and scared and frustrated, desperate to change their situation but terrified too, both of the new, unknown, and of what it takes to get there. They jump from one method to another in the hope of finding a magic cure. And so on and so on.
I live in Norway, I was 43, I didn't take tablets, but I did have almost 30 kilos to lose (25). I used MFP as it is designed, logged my food, hit my calorie target, lost weight almost effortlessly, and predictably in accordance with calorie deficit. I have kept it off for almost 4 years now. I struggled for more than 20 years before that, just like you do now.
The pills might reduce your appetite temporarily, but what you need, is to find long term strategies to eat well - enough, but not too much, to balance health and enjoyment. Food choices and meal timing is up to you. There will indeed be challenges along the way, but if you're serious, at least don't set out to be derailed on the starting line.10 -

I understand your view completely. I’m not taking the medication to fix the issue. I am using it only as a kick start to help me along. I am making lifestyle changes along the way as I want a long term outcome.
Yesterday was day one of MFP Aand I was really surprised at the calorie intake of regular things in my day (coffee,tea etc). So that was a good eye opener to the things I’ve looked past. I make healthier choices with everything I eat now. I’m not saying it’s the BEST or the HEALTHIEST of choices as I’m still learning, but certainly more aware of the bad things.
I’m excited for this journey and a little scared as well. I’ve been overweight for so long that it became normal.
Day 2 today! On a mission to hit my step target as I missed out yesterday.3 -
Like you I was surprised by how many calories I was eating when I first started logging. I logged for a week without changing anything so I could see where I needed to make changes. A lot of it was mindless eating, huge portions and snacking high calorie things late at night.
Whether you take diet pills, do IF, go low carb, or any of the many different ways of eating it will all come down to eating less than you burn. So sticking to your calorie allowance is paramount.
I wish you luck and hope you don't suffer any ill affects from the pills.
This place is full of very well informed people who are glad to help with advice and tips on how to manage weight loss in a healthy way. I am sure you will be able to use the site to achieve your goals.3 -

I get headaches and feel nauseous when I don’t eat every 3 hours. Even then I still feel a bit sick. I have found that if I don’t eat breakfast and just wait until lunchtime I don’t get headaches or feel nauseous. I don’t feel the need to eat every hour or think about eating. Duromine helps me with the headaches and nausea at the start of changing my habits

^^ The app showed me just how many extra calories I was consuming by having sugar and full fat milk in my coffee and tea.I make healthier choices with everything I eat now. I’m not saying it’s the BEST or the HEALTHIEST of choices as I’m still learning, but certainly more aware of the bad things.

^ Im calm? Perhaps YOUR weight loss is nothing to be scared of or excited about? You cannot assume that the way you view things is the same for everyone. This journey for me is scary and exciting.
I’m looking forward to my personal journey to weight loss and what will be my own version of normal.

Gosh no hate here hun. I appreciate what you’re saying. Perhaps I haven’t given the whole picture.
I am not sitting on medication waiting for it to do the work for me. It’s a helping hand to start. I understand it’s not for everyone but my journey isn’t everyone’s, it’s mine
I have made a lot of Changes to my lifestyle already. Using MFP has helped me keep track of my calorie intake and given me a better understanding of high calorie foods/drinks I was regularly consuming. I am more aware of my portion sizes now and I’m also exercising more.
Prior to my weight loss kick off I spent time to quit smoking. This is a whole lifestyle change for me not just about losing KG.
