I use the leg curl machines at the gym and they have a little lock mechanism to keep your legs down so you don't lose form - well the little lock now goes down further than ever before! My thighs are shrinking! I recall not being able to get it to lock into the first one at all when I started but now I'm on the second 😄24

I've been working out 4-6 times a week for 5 weeks in a row. I have severe arthritis in my knees but can now easily go up and down stairs and feel much stronger.25

I just realized I no longer use my hands on the arms of a chair to push myself up when I stand up - don't know when this started, but I like it

That is awesome.3 -

I am a member of a dragon boat team and we train on a lake. We recently went to a regatta that was held on a river. The races were cancelled last year so it had been two years since we had competed on this river. We have to paddle upstream to the starting point, turn around, and then when the horn sounds, paddle downstream with the current to the finish line. Two years ago I can remember being out of breath by the time we got to the start buoys. Paddling upsteam is hard work and I honestly didn't have much left in me for the actual race itself. What a pathetic team mate I was!
I added some strength training to my cardio about 18 months ago. No amazing weights like some fabulous people do on here, but I do my reps to failure and throw in some planks. I couldn't believe the difference at this years racing! Paddle upstream? No big deal for this girl! And there was plenty left in the tank for the race!
TLDR: I just realized how much stronger I am because I'm lifting a few dumb bells twice a week27 -
There’s this very looooong STEEEEP hill in my neighborhood. No one ever walks up it much less down it lmao. I usually walk up the hill once or twice during my walks, but today I did it 4 times and it felt amazing, because my stamina has increased so much. One day I hope to sprint up the hill20

I'm laying on my sofa watching television, and I realize I can do this with my legs. At my heaviest I could barely cross then without using my arms to help hoist one over the other.
Oh my gods my legs do this too!
...I used not to be able to cross my legs at all. Now I sit with crossed legs like 99% of the time. So comfy!6 -
I did this today. I was that kid who could never do handstands or anything similar. PE was torture to me. Anxiety and self consciousness stopped me from doing the things I wanted. Not anymore. Also thought I was going to be the only student in pole class to be politely discouraged from ever coming back for being terrible at it. Also not anymore.25

Same day I noticed my wedding rings are loose now and also fit into a size medium dress. Zipped all the way up. Normally have to wear dress size extra large if it zips all the way up to the back of my neck so that was huge! And I'm a small in flowy dresses now. Was a medium or large.21

Did it today! 3 sets of 5 at 245! Moving up next week. YES!

I hiked longer than I meant to and it got later than I intended a few days ago. I came to a sign that said it was 3.1 miles back to where I started as it was getting dusky. I basically ran a 5k through dimly lit woods in about 35 minutes.30

I resisted having a second ice cream bar today. I don't usually buy them, so this isn't typically a problem, but I wanted them for a treat. Hello, moderation.
(edited to clarify: it would have put me over my calories and I wasn't hungry, I just wanted the mood boost)21 -
Kayaking tour guide stood us up , but instead of heading immediately to the brewery for the rest of my bday celebration, I decided to try SUP for the first time. I felt like I was poling Tom Sawyer’s raft with the big barge the rental place had, but I enjoyed it enough after my hour to want to give it a go with a “real” board.21

My NSV is that I'm now a proper UK size 14. I've not been this size in a long time.
Gained weight then lost some and gained it all back and more with have my first baby. This year I'm 35lbs down and it's amazing22 -
Wonderful job, everyone! I love reading all your NSVs and celebrating with you guys and gals!
My parents came to visit! They flew all the way here to Germany! I'm happy to see them and to get a bit of a vacation from work.
But with that comes a lot of stressors. "Are you hungry? I'm sure you're hungry. You haven't eaten all day." {cut scene to lunch two hours earlier} "I'm sure it's fine if you skipped your workout today, we're going to be walking a lot." {fitbit says no more than normal} "I don't think you need to be spending all that time logging food into that app" {nonstop eye-rolling from me...lol, like a teenage daughter }
These are good tests though for when we are living near them again, so I for sure need to be able to deal with all these issues. They're the same problems that have been discussed here many times. So because of those discussions, I have good tactics to deal! I feel in control even though guests often derail. Sometimes with humor, sometimes with seriousness, sometimes just plain ignoring them. They're my parents and I feel like they're pretty much always going to pester and "worry". As harsh as this may seem, I'm just letting them. They can't bother me. I have made my decisions and I am a different person than I was before. I can't let them bring me down!30 -
Increased forearm strength. An often neglected muscle.18

My husband and I go for walks most days, and I realised that we are now able to walk uphill and continue our conversation on streets we used to avoid because they are quite steep. Today was the same hill that has given me heart palpitations before, and I've been fine! I'm so thankful for my increased health.
Also, I added up all of my inches lost from my major measurements... and it totals 36.5 inches! That is the starting measurement for my waist, coincidentally. 😶28 -
100 days logging today!
And, I attended a friend's wedding yesterday and danced all night! My fitbit autorecognised it as Sport!! Being lighter on my feet and much more active recently made a huge difference compared to the last wedding I was at!25 -
I did a 3 mile workout this morning. 2 of those were spent running. I could barely do 1 mile at the start of summer. I'm super happy with my progress.23

I was approached by five people at work in the last week about how amazing I look, which is incredibly flattering. But I got weirded out when one of these people said that I am the talk of the entire office. My 25-ish pound loss so far has been completely on the down low (I generally don’t talk about it) so it’s pretty strange for me to know people are looking at me!26

I saw a dress that I liked at the store. They had 3 sizes - XS, S, L. I really wanted a medium. I tried on the large. I got it on, but couldn't zip it. I was soooooo disappointed. I was like - geez, I have to get an XL? That's crazy. I really thought I was a medium or large. I wasn't so sure I liked that dress anymore because I didn't want to wear an XL. I took it off - and looked at the tag - it said XS. Someone put an XS dress on a hanger that said L.
So I tried on the Small - and got it zipped. Unbelievable. It's a bit tight - but I bought it anyway. It's gonna be my inspiration dress - to fit better after losing another 10 or 15 pounds.
Lesson learned : don't assume the size on the hanger is the correct size of the clothing item.44 -
I am in the second hold I added to my belt, the tip of the belt wraps around to my left belt hole. The belt was probably longer than it needed to be when I weighed more but I like that it goes around to the side.13

After not wanting to do anything but sleep today, I decided I would still get up and meal prep like I was supposed to. My fridge looks so nice and ready to go!22

Yesterday I lowered the amount of sugar in my tea to one teaspoon and not only did it not kill me, I decided to stick with it because I can’t notice a difference.
For context: before I started losing weight, I was having three teaspoons of sugar per cup of tea! I knew it was bad, but the crybaby in me insisted I ‘needed’. And for three months, I’ve been lowering the amount by half a teaspoon at a time. I realised yesterday I hadn’t lowered it in a while.
My plan is to have it sugarless, as I used to love it that way when I was younger.28 -
Yesterday my wife had me try on a pair of pants I haven't worn in a very long time. I didn't want to because I remember how much they dug into my belly, but sure enough they fit after losing 33lbs! I was pleasantly surprised! It's the little things that keep me going!27

NSV for me today: Actually schlepping all of the morning snacks, lunches, and afternoon snacks a mile, uphill, to work! That hill was killer about 7 months ago but it's "doable" now.16

Joined a gym for the first time in my life two days ago, just did my first squat and deadlift using a squat rack today, though I had to figure out how to use it first.22
