9/02 - 173.5 (-0.5) I was very correct about it being my time of the month Craving carbs like crazy! But eating more protein and oatmeal for breakfast really helps. Not stressing about the weight at all, this will fix itself when my lady troubles are over. I'm logging, staying under my calorie goal and exercising everyday.

@Bendiz_ I'm glad the oatmeal helped you! It also helps me stay full longer, along with the carb craving. That time of the month is so cruel to us . Hang in there, you're doing amazing!6 -
Round 5 for me
SW:215lbs
UGW: 140lbs
Aims for this round - to exercise at least 5 out of the 10 days and to lose at least another 2lbs. My new mini goal is190lbs but I don't intend to lose it quickly as I'd rather lose it slowly so it stays off. So I'll aim for 195-194 for this round.
Good luck everyone
8/26 197.7- 1lb up from yesterday - not making the right choices with food. I used to keep a food diary and think I need to go back to this to see where I'm going wrong. No workout / lazy day.
8/27 198- 0.3 up on yesterday's weight... hopefully I'll start to go down now, as this usually the pattern ( I hope)
8/28 198- no change - better than going up!! Planning to go swimming tomorrow, as I say need to start moving and by telling my daughter she will nag me until we go.
8/29 198- again no change- went swimming, which was great..planning to do a dancing routine ( not sure which one yet).. trying to find an exercise that I enjoy and will fit in with work when I start back next week, so I can kick this number out the window. Used the MFP diary today.
8/30 196lbs - down 2lbs - I think that I wasn't eating enough and my body was holding onto fat as it thought it was staving ( I wasn't hungry). I've come to this conclusion because I ate more yesterday and the weight has started to drop again. I also upped my level of water to 3.5 litres and exercised. I will continue to track my meals and see what happens today. I'm not expecting another drop tomorrow, but I'm hoping to maintain this weight (that would be good).
8/31 195.2 lbs - so pleased to see my target weight for this round. It's my son's 17th birthday today, so we're going out to one of our favourite restaurants. It is a buffet style, so I'm sure that will trial to eat well. I do intend to enjoy the evening as my son is going away next year and I won't be with him for his 18th. I'll have to work off the extra pounds that I gain over the next few days... just hope that is not too many.
9/01 197lbs - I knew it was going to happen- I didn't eat as much as I would usually eat at the buffet, but I know that when other people make the food they would add more salt than I would usually have (I don't add salt in my cooking, due to a high blood pressure)- did drink loads of water yesterday ... but didn't drink enough today. Hoping the pounds will start to shift in the next few days.
9/02 197lbs - better than going up - still not enough water today, but more than yesterday

This is a Huge day for me.
I don’t think I’ve been in 150’s since I dieted in 9th grade. I finally look like I felt inside all this time. Just a few more pounds, not there yet, but mid-torso is slimming & toning, almost there!!

Hubby didn’t have lunch, and started talking about eating out. So we went, I ate under maintenance after a 3.6 mile hike. Water retention this morning from salt & heavy exercise. All will be fine
I noted that I didn’t feel well at bedtime, nor this morning: feeling tired, slight headache. I’ll just watch him eat next time
Reaffirms my goal of 155-158, so I never hit 160!/ again

27/08: 167.4 : Goals ✅ weekend bounce! Too many carbs! I must find a way to avoid this for the next month!

31/08: 166.7 : Goals ✅ This is part of the pattern I have noticed. A small whoosh, a bounce up, small daily fluctuations, another small whoosh, etc, etc, etc. The trend continues downward so learning to be less focused on the daily figure, and concentrating on the big picture.
Slightly over 60lbs discarded (not 'lost'. I ain't looking to get them back!); 12lbs to go to goal weight.
01/08: 166.6 : Goals ✅ On a plateau? Enjoy the view! (Note to body: I am losing weight!)

03/08: xxx : Goals
04/08: xxx : Goals Start of 7 day vacation.
THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

•8/26 - 183.4 - Fluid retention. Not enough sleep.
•8/27- 182.4 - Tired. Woke up with a slight headache from a couple of champagne cocktails that I drank. Long, but enjoyable day with my family yesterday. We celebrated the first of the end of Summer "cavalcade of birthdays" in our family.
•8/28 - 182 - And yes, still with the fluid retention, steadily coming down and the weight with it. I've never experienced this before. Today I'll update my MFP progress again to my Round 50 end weight.
•8/29 - 183.2 - Here's a weight I skipped. It found me. Thanks buddy. Lol.
•8/30 - 183.6 - The last 183 increment. FINALLY! My body is so peculiar. I did see 181 when I first stepped on the scale. Maybe I will settle to that weight by the end of this round. It depends on whether I have been the full 182 set or not.
•8/31 - 182.6 - 182.8 did show up for the first time. S-M-H. I had not been that weight before. My scale also showed 180 point something this morning. Not a lot of sleep last night. Stayed up late watching videos on coffee filter flower making, then spent time folding and dyeing a pkg of coffee filters. Expensive, time wise, but a LOT less expensive in $$. I think they will be perfect for my friends flower wall.

Hmm - I somehow messed up my days last round. No surprises there as I have very little routine right now and all my days are bleeding together! Whoops.
8/26 - Sunday - 185.5*
8/27 - Monday - 186.5* - So much salt the past few days. And so much moving. Got the table done, last heavy thing is the grill. Which is HEAVY. Landlord gave us the extra weekend to move/clean, yay! Still on an emotional roller coaster with the house - change is really hard for me. My dad reminded me that I cried when he painted the house, and also cried when they got rid of a 20 year old couch. So yeah, even good change is hard for me. But I'm learning not to hold to tightly to my feelings - the feelings come and go a little easier these days - I know its okay to feel scared of change, but I have to let it go and feel excited too! Applying these ideas to my weight loss journey too.
8/28 - Tuesday - 185.5* - More pizza and salt last night. Pretty wild day at work so I did not eat much, then basically binged when we finally ate. Need to avoid too skewed of eating and find a happy balance again. I need to start eating my breakfast protein shake again - not getting enough protein in general. And I find when I skip it I'm more likely to put off eating until I'm ravenous and it does not end well. Reminding myself in ALL aspects of my life that simply trying is the first and biggest hurdle for me. I've been stuck in a fixed mindset, that if I try something and fail, I'm somehow less smart because I did not succeed. But I'm moving towards a growth mindset - that trying and failing does not take anything away from me, it only gives me an opportunity to learn and grow from it - so keep trying!!!
8/29 - Wednesday - 185.5* - Still using new house scale. Still hovering around this weight. Mom helped me clean the apartment yesterday. Moms are the best. Packed, loaded and unloaded 2 cars worth of boxes. We worked hard and it was so hot! Moes for dinner - ate half my quesadilla and felt full! Another scorcher today. Will probably unpack some boxes tonight, and finish final moving tasks on Saturday; final dump run, scrapper to pick up washing machine etc, AAA to tow car, and move the grill and garden. Trying to be gentle and kind to myself as we adjust and find our new normal.
8/30 - Thursday - 185.0* - A ridiculous day at work had me hardly eating again. Took my PM meds and ended up light headed and woozy. Not enough water, not enough food, not enough energy to cook, not enough AC in the world to keep our house cool. So we went to the grocery store and grabbed a cheeseburger plate from the market for $3 and 750 calories its my new "I need to eat dinner that's not take out but want take out" meal! Emptied two boxes and set up basement game room so we watched a movie down there where it was cool and didnt do much else. I know I need to drink lots of water and eat an adequate amount so I can finish this move strong. Definitely starting to burn out so I need to be mindful and work with my body, not against it.
8/31 - Friday - 184.0* - I seent it! Now to make it stay for this round. Tuna sandwich for lunch yesterday hit the spot - going to have that more. Dog park and quick sausage sandwich for dinner last night. Unpacked a few boxes. I put on a pair of khakis this morning that I havent worn in about 2 weeks and they are HUGE! So even though the scale has been pretty stagnant I feel very little! Also puts me about 1.5 lbs away from 30 lbs lost! The move has actually put me a little ahead of schedule so far and I'm being careful to remain at a healthy rate of loss, not so fast that I lose muscle. Final push to finsish apartment tonight and tomorrow - feels like such a neverending saga but theres a light now!
9/01 - Saturday - 185.0* - September, wow! Moved all day long. Heavy outdoor equip and all garden stuff. Mom helped. Long day. Takeout chinese last night and takeout Italian tonight. Back for more moving in am. Then need to get to grocery store tomorrow as well. Got the grill up finally dinners should feel more normal again on really hot days. Settling in!!
9/02 - Sunday - 185.5* - moved more appliances, crashed hard in the afternoon
Quick power nap and grocery store trip. A few hours at the lake this evening. Ate burgers and smores. Havent logged anything this weekend but going to back and log it when I'm not falling asleep. My scale is somewhwre here in a box...will try to find that tomorrow.

SW: 73.4 kg
GW: 68 kg
Round 1
8/26 - 73.4kg
8/27 - 73.0kg -- Yesterday I actually was more committed thinking about this group. every time I wanted to "cheat" I remembered that I'll be logging my weight in the morning and that these 10 days might not show a minus if I do so. It worked, I stayed out of the fridge.
8/28 - 72.6kg -- I swear that this is the first time in forever I see the scale going down.woo! It must be this challenge! I'm really mindful of what I'm doing/eating knowing that I'll be reporting on it. Tonight I have the gym, curious to see how that affects things. Ideally, I'd love to lose 1kg (2lbs) every challenge. Not sure if that's possible, but I'll try! This is an awesome group. Keep rocking, ladies, and gents. We can do this.
8/29 - 71.8 kg - Wooo! probably just losing water or something but I'll take it. I was on my cal goal and went to the gym, so pretty good day. It's summer here so navigating weekends here is the most difficult part. Beer, icecreams and a bunch of other no-nos everywhere. But hey, it's "just 10 days", right? It really helps me to chunk this down and think in those terms. I'm trying to learn not to use the food as an award, so here's mine: At the end of the challenge purchase new fitness clothes as a reward.
8/30 - 71.7 kg - Last night I had 2 beers, but I skipped dinner. Not very healthy but I wasn't really hungry and I was going out with my friends. I don't want to be enslaved by MFP or weight loss, we still need to live in the process. Anyways, good to see this. If I end this Round on 71, I'll be happy. Tonight I have the gym, so yay there! Maybe we see a small drop tomorrow. Still loving this challenge, and already know I'll be doing the next one too.
8/31 - 71.3kg - Yesterday was such a busy day that I didn't even have time to eat at work, although I brought food! Wasn't hungry, either. Gym sessions was fabu, having another one tonight. For 2 more weeks I'll be going 3x/week and then I'm shifting to 5x/week. A friend inspired me: when I told her "I don't have time to go to the gym" she said, "then there's something very wrong with your business and life priorities if you don't have 1h per day for yourself and your health". How very true!
9/01 - 71.8 kg aaah, there it is. The famous "weight loss is not linear". I know it's not a lot but these things bum me out. I'm so glad I joined this and I have somewhere to share how I feel and not have people roll their eyes bc it's "just" a small up. Anyways, I'm pushing through. Weekend officially started, which is my danger zone. Usually A LOT of social events, we'll be at the beach and spend a bunch of time with my family (we're all The Feeders). I'm gonna look at it as a challenge. It's only 1 weekend to miss beer and other treats and it's going to push me towards my goal. I can do this.
9/02 - had no scale
9/03 - 72.2kg - This is so disappointing. Not gonna lie, had high expectations after the first few days. I feel like a hamster stuck in its training wheel. No, I wasn't eating perfectly the last 2 days. But I was VERY active - walked 10k steps, swam all day long, snorkeled, paddle-boarded. Trying really hard not to get discouraged and drop this whole weight loss thing. Uh. Today: back on cal tracking, back to the gym, back to work. One more day until the end of the challenge, hopefully I end it in the 71 zone.
