Oh man, I know the feeling! I have 2 whole containers of oreos in my cupboard and I haven't touched them in 2 weeks! I had 1 the other day and felt super guilty! I don't know what I'm going to do with all of these oreos lol17 -
I just bought a new (small) belt a few weeks ago and then I had to wear the largest hole. Already moved to the second largest hole.18

I am two pant sizes down! This is another NSV....went to the thrift shop and only bought $26 worth of items.21

I did c25k W1D1 today and it went better than expected!
It's the third time I have started the programme - the last time was over 7 years ago (and at least 25lbs lighter) - but I remember it being much more difficult that time, and on my first attempt. I've never made it the full way through, as I always pushed too hard, got injured and then gave up. This time around, I am going to take it slowly. I feel like it's going to be third time lucky for me!! Who knows, maybe a Park Run might launch me into 2019!17 -

Yay!!!! Now that's an awesome feeling! (Although no one that have never been obese truly understands to joy of just being overweight).
Tips from having to completely rebuy my entire wardrobe, twice:
Used clothing!!! You're mid weight loss, don't spend too much money on them.
Slightly snug. You're going to shrink into them, so as long as you can get it on without it being ridiculous, buy clothes slightly snug on you. It'll give you some extra time.
Dollar Store: yes, thier clothes is cheap crappy material, but you don't need it to last more than a few months.
Belts: the one thing you should spend a bit more on. A good, highly adjustable belt. When jeans start getting a bit loose, a good belt will keep you from having the embarrassment of your pants falling off in public (happened to me, I'm so happy I had cute boyshort underwear on and not my back-of-the-drawer period granny panties).
Wrap or corset dresses!!!! AKA, adjustable for a good 3-4 sizes.15 -
I found a bag of Sprouts Hatch green chili chips in my pantry. I bought them as a treat for myself some time ago. The bag is mostly full and way past the "best by" date. I guess I just don't mindlessly snack the way I used to.16

Last Nov. I tried a bootcamp class (63 lbs heavier than today) and it was very tough! I was paired up for some exercise (I forget which one) with a girl who was a "regular". I remember thinking that I wish I could be in that good of shape. I have seen her at bootcamp and another class often and have chit chatted with her a fair bit.
Today at bootcamp we did a timed workout involving kettlebells, situps, box jumps, skipping, sprints, etc. and we had to get a total count of how many we did.
NSV 1: I got over 150 more than that same girl from last year did.
NSV 2: I am a regular.31 -
I was shaving my legs and noticed they were much more firmer, especially in the calves.18

Discovered tonight that for the first time in a lot of years that I can bend over and touch my toes without bending my legs! Last time I tried a few weeks ago I could only get to mid calf.17

A guy lamely struck up a conversation with me in the grocery store.
He wasn't really hitting on me, but he wasn't quite not hitting on me either. It had been so long since this had happened to me that I had forgotten that guys do that sometimes; but there he was asking a question about the price of meat (it had to be meat, I guess, given that we weren't close enough to any Freudianly suggestive produce) that he obviously didn't care about the answer to.
Just made me smile a bit.25 -
Dragon coat has been slain!!! After what has been (no exaggeration or word of a lie) the singularly worst year of my life, this was a much needed victory. I nearly cried when I did up the buttons and looked in the mirror and went “Oh. Oh wow. I did it. Through all this, I did it, on my own and fighting every step” and I very nearly cried.
So, if you’re out there and life is throwing down and you’re exhausted and wondering if it’s even worth the energy... yes. The answer is yes. If you’re looking for a sign, this is it, because the answer is yes. It’s worth it. I promise.70 -
Wonderful job, everyone!
I've been really struggling this week. Not just with my work outs and nutrition, but I'm in a pretty deep slump (lots of reasons...things are...not good here). I don't know if this is really a victory or just a meh but I haven't been turning to comfort eating as I have in the past. I realized that today as I walked past the bake sale fundraiser and didn't instantly think, "oh, a cupcake will make me feel better".
Thank you all for helping me, though! Reading all your successes puts a little sunshine in my day.32 -

This is a bigger NSV than you think.17 -
My NSV is that I can't keep my hands off myself. I've been rubbing parts of my body that feels so different - my butt is so much rounder, there is a slab of muscle on my chest (near the arm feels so springy and firm!), my hands and feet feel so much bonier. There's muscles on the sides of my neck, my shoulders feel hard when I raise my arms. Washing my face or rubbing my eyes feels weird in a good way.

It's my birthday today- not really my favorite day of the year, and one which usually involves emotional over-eating. But knowing I had to deal with family and not being in charge of the meal prep, I got my first "taste" of dealing with a real-world scenario since I started this process*. For the first time in my life, I didn't gorge on a birthday meal. I saved the calories so I'm still going to be in deficit. And I threw dessert away...I repeat...I threw dessert away. My mom, with hopefully the best of intentions, got a red velvet cupcake from a local bakery. Luckily, I think she forgot that I dislike this particular bakery because, frankly, they suck. So, yes, that made it easier to toss even after I sliced the thing in half and could only eat maybe four bites of the half I took. I didn't want to hurt her feelings, so I had to be discreet in throwing it away, but I just looked at it and realized, "nah, not worth it to finish it." No regrets, and no cravings for anything else. My real celebration will be my walk later this evening. Feels good.
*Granted, I've only been at this for a little over two weeks.27 -
I’ve subdued the dragon jeans!! They button and zip up..... they look like hell on but they zip so they’ll be slayed soon enough29

My NSV: I meal prepped and cooked like a pro. 4 quiche (only one is for my household); spare ribs; sweet potato chickpea chili; Moroccan Chicken Olive Tagine; and a kale-tomato-red onion salad for about 4 meals. I cooked the ribs and the quiche and prepped the other two for the crock pot later this week. Kept accurate count of mass (grams, etc) for nearly all ingredients. I hate to cook but I think I can face one afternoon of it in order to have a GREAT week of healthy, ready-to-eat, homemade options. I got breakfast and lunch ingredients and will prep those now, for tomorrow, and then I am going to bed, and I don't care if it will only be 8:30 pm!
My daughter thinks someone has invaded my body, b/c I haven't really cooked for about 2 years. It's a long story, but this weight loss adventure has me doing -- and enjoying--things I never thought I would, or that I hadn't enjoyed for a while. It feels good all around.31 -
I am 62 years old and did my first 5K. I was so excited. I just wanted to finish. I came in 3rd place in my age group. 😃55
