I know that seems pretty good (and it IS! I was 152 when I started MFP) but my low weight has been 120, and I'm determined to get there again...it felt great! In fact, my UG is 115... with muscles (!!)
OK -- I will see how far I can get this round! I think this Just Give Me 10 Days is very motivating! Eat your greens everyone....

9/9/18 -- 126.4 this morning! It was the silent disco my husband and I went to last night (NOT KIDDING! It was at a music festival -- many stages -- and great bands -- AND we got to dance with the college kiddos in a silent disco....my new love!! ) See y'all tomorrow!
9/10 -- weighed in at 127.0 this a.m. Not surprised -- football parties and snacking/beer did me in a little --but I did go to power yoga class which is why it's just a little up -- I'll take it. Will be back to 126 tomorrow. Busy day ahead and no football parties (or Guinness!)
9/11 -- 126.4 I lied. Went out to hear a friend's band (they were GREAT!) and had a Guinness (a very large Guinness, too! )....oh well -- still down today. Power yoga tonight ....I'm going to make it to 125 this round!

Continuing on anti-inflammatory diet, which I started about 4 weeks ago, and focusing on good food, walks, meditation, and moderate weight training.

Food ~~ 1330 calories until I hit 140, then slowly increase to ma; P 15-25%, C 35-50%, F 25-35%; anti-inflammatory diet.

Hot day coming up here, but beautiful and clear. It will be cold soon enough, so I'm enjoying the sun and heat. I put together a bag of clothes that no longer fit (and a few things that no longer make me happy) and I'll be taking those to a local women's shelter today or tomorrow. All good!

I made a stab at entering calories from the potluck. Happily, there was plenty of food I could eat (I was afraid I'd get 2 pieces of shrimp and a few baby carrots!). But no, I was quite full by the end. I'm making the most of the weekend as things get crazy this week - teaching a new writing class, taking a new class, integrative doctor & dietitian appointments, on top of usual work (writing). I'm still debating buying a standing desk -- anyone here use one? I may just take my laptop to Office Depot and ask if I can stand there and type for a while to see if I like it.

My Monday & Tuesday meal schedules are messed up for the next 6 weeks due to evening classes (taking one, teaching one). I'm trying to eat a big lunch to hold me until I get home around 9, then have some fruit, but last night I came home really hungry. Maybe I'll try a decent lunch and a light supper around 4:30. Another work in progress!

I'd really like to hit 140 in the next couple of days as it looks like I'm going to have to take a short course of prednisone and I'd like as low a starting weight as possible. Sigh. Not happy about it but need to reduce inflammation, and the anti-inflammatory diet isn't working fast enough. Hopefully the pain will dissipate and I can get back to my regular long walks to counteract the potential weight gain from. I'm also aiming for as low sodium as possible to minimize water retention. Anyone who's taken pred have any other tips for minimizing potential side effects?

Okay! Half a pound to go - hopefully next round. And, based on blood work back yesterday, I'm going to postpone (hopefully forever) the prednisone. Yesterday I met with the dietitian in the integrative practice I'm seeing. She said my diet was already very clean (I knew that!) but wants me to follow an elimination diet for 6 weeks to see if it helps more than what I've been doing. So no more nightshades, dairy, eggs, gluten, corn, peanuts, or soy. I already had sugar under control. and had stopped most daity. After 6 weeks I can start re-introducing foods one at a time. So I guess I'm off to do some shopping! I'm actually pretty excited after speaking with her, so my focus now is better health with the likely added bonus of hitting my goal and staying there, maybe a little less. 9/06 today 132 pounds. I slept well last night. no late-night snacking Looking forward to the gym tonight.
9/07 today 131 pounds. Hour run last night. Calories a bit over. All healthy foods. Waiting to see if I have a weight fluctuation in the next three days.
9/08 today 131 pounds. Frustrated with myself. I snacked on peanut butter and a banana last night after a long workout. So far, no weight bounce but I expect it. Weekends are my struggle. I’m going to be mindful to keep my food within my calories and macros. Saturday and Sunday rest days. No gym.

9/05 141.7 ~ (Steps 21,612) ~ Yesterday was the first day since I’ve been back, my husband was working. I was able to get a lot accomplished, start organizing my kitchen, pictures and my freezer.

9/05 -- 160.8 slowly coming on down. I don't usually eat after 7 but last night was a super late dinner at 11. I got in 150 min of exercise, which means I was up till 1 30 😥😥😥 and drank 1.5 liters of water. Hope everyone else has a good hump day!!
9/06-- 160.2 worked out for 90 min yesterday, drank 1.5 liters and stayed under my calories. I usually stop eating after 7 (8 the latest) but last night I had a craving for munchies, so ended up having a couple of mini crispys and a mini chocolate bar at 8:30. Buuuuuuut the NSV is I only ate one mini chocolate and stuck to 24 crispys (they are the rice cake kind) where before I would have over indulged on both until there was nothing left.
9/07--160.2 worked out for an hour, drank 1.5 liters and ate under my calories. I think I have officially hit my plateau. This week I haven't been the best with getting breakfast in. I have been so motivated and consumed with exercising that I have missed breakfast and lunch all week and only have been eating dinner. I have tried planning out my meals for the week to stop this but that didn't work out too good. I already know OMAD doesn't work for me and on top of it, after dinner I tend to get the munchies if I don't eat all day. Like the night before I ate some chips and chocolate and last night I ate four turtles after dinner. Of course it was all still in moderation and I didn't go over but I don't like when I get mindless cravings. I have no problem with having a treat here and there but having junk be my go to when I'm still hungry isn't ideal. So this morning after weighing in, I ate. I will see how this goes.
9/08-- 159.6 WHAT WHAT WHAT??? yesterday I caved and ended up eating a crazy amount of chocolate, although I still stayed under my calories, it obviously wasn't the healthiest day. I did exercise, even if it wasn't as much as usual and I walked. I drank 1 liter of water. It is so weird that I usually work out like crazy, eat well and get the majority of my water in but ended up plateauing for a little over a week, then the day I didn't do as well and I ended up pushing under the mark. I am a little sceptical, I will wait to see if this doesn't change by tomorrow before I get too excited. But I am hoping this is it.... me in the 50s 😃😃😃 I am going to watch closely though, third day eating chocolate.... don't want this to turn into a thing
9/09-- 159.4 so I guess I have settled here 😄😄 yesterday was my MILs bday but I made sure to drink water and order the healthier options, a big NSV for me. I used to think going out meant I didn't have to stick to my healthy eating and was a good time for a break but it went great . Ate within my calories, drank 2 liters of water and took extra long walks. So far this weekend has been going great.
9/10 --157.6 woooooosh!! I couldn't believe it, had to check three times and this number kept coming up. 😄😄😄😄 woot!! I am back to the weight I was last January!!! I remember being dissapoined that I had gained so much weight over the holidays (and although I recommited to a weight loss journey, I gave up early and just continued to gain) but I couldn't be more thrilled to see it now!!! This is so emotionally exciting!! Yesterday I went for my first light jog in 10 years and although I didn't expect much from it, I did better then I thought. I completed two sets of 15 minutes (with a minute of fast walking after every five minutes) and although this doesn't seem like a lot to those people who jog daily, this is a big victory for me. It goes to show you really don't know what your body is capable of until you test it and it's limits. I ate great and drank 2 liters of water. Thanks to everyone in this group, with all the supportive (and sometimes competitive) people I not only stuck to it but achieved way more physically then I have in years. Thank you everyone for all your day to day stories, without them I would have felt discouraged with every gain and plateau but with them I haven't felt alone. You guys have really helped me learn a lot!!! Thank you.
9/11--157.8 feeling bloated today so not concerned about the slight gain. Stayed under calories and drank 1 liter of water. Besides dancing for a bit I decided to have a rest day. Back at it today, already had a mini jog and walk. Hope everyone has a great day
9/12 --158.4 I exercised a good amount yesterday....but I also ate a lot. I don't remember being as hungry as I was yesterday in a long while. I pretty much ate all my exercise calories. Drank 1.5 liters of water. I have to rethink my exercise routine though, my mom decided she needed to be more active but because I am way more active then she is, I have needed to dial it back....a lot. So now I'm figuring out how to do my routine and help her with hers. It's weird. I haven't done my routine since Friday (still have been exercising but not at my usual intensity) and I'm starting to get concerned. I feel more bloated and less toned, even though I think it's crazy for me to assume it would effect me in such a short amount of time...I can't help feeling slightly anxious.
9/13 -- 157.8 exercising went great yesterday managed two jogs, strength training and exercise with my mom. I am going away for the weekend to a friend's house, we are dog/house sitting and I will be bringing everything with me. In the past I have either not been as hungry because I am in a new place and my body is weird like that or I overeat because I am in a new place and my body is weird like that.. lol she said she has a scale there so I don't know how my weight will look for the next couple of days, hopefully not too different. She lives in a condo and her condo has a gym, pool and a play room so I am hoping I can get into the gym to keep up with this morning jog and maybe even go to the pool, water exercise is always fun. I drank 1.5 liters of water and ate well within my calories. Hopefully I can push a little more before the end of the round but I already know the 50s are going to be a slow trudge...i hope everyone has a great final day of round 52.
9/14-- no scale. I am still settling in my home away from home. I forgot to ask where her scale was until later this morning but by that point I had my breakfast so was too intimidated to weigh in. I exercised with my mom but that was it, do not do as much as usual. Drank 1.6 liters of water. My eating though was a little off, ended up having a sandwich for lunch yesterday which I haven't done in a while and gave in to LNS. That's ok though back at it today.

9/6 151 I feel like something has shifted, and this is getting easier. NSV- finally got back out on my mountain bike yesterday for a nice hilly ride, taught my 16 yo son a new recipe that he cooked for dinner for the fam, got my DH out on the bike too. I can't wait to see the 140's and they are within reach!!!

9/8 151.4 I had a good day yesterday, FINALLY getting my DH moving with me! It is so much easier when we are both working together, but I have learned to lead by example and not nag, suggest, hint, or ask him to get active/eat better/etc. This is the part about "focusing on myself instead of what needs to change outside of me". When I am taking better care of myself I want everyone around me to also do the same, but I know that everyone has their own limits and timelines and needs to come to their own conclusions. I cannot make someone motivated, but maybe instead inspire them by taking better care of myself. We went on a morning walk, not my usual hilly fast burn since he was with me, but I am happy to pull it back and slow my progress if it means he will come along! I spent the afternoon with my sis helping her prepare for her big annual Tapas party, peeling potatoes for patatas bravas, making albondigas, chopping fruit for sangria...great girl talk and wonderful to cook together since we never do! Today is the party, my plan is to have a protein breakfast then to fast (as difficult as that may be with all the yummy food) I think it is the safest plan to eliminate the stress eating and weight gain that will show up if I do otherwise! Got home from a busy day and my 16yo son was learning to make beef stroganoff with my DH, overall a win win day!
9/9 152.4 My plan to fast gained an "e" and turned into a Feast. There were just too many hours at my sis's (noon-10 pm) and too much amazing Spanish food to stick to the original plan. I had a great day, held my grandbabies for a good long spell and got those baby love feelings going! Didn't drink enough H2O so today my focus is on hydration, going for a walk, and self care. Yesterday took 2 walks before the party, and reached an all time high of over 20k steps, so that is a win! Tomorrow is my weekly weigh in, looking for a drop below last week's 151.8, could be a stretch, but I am eating smart today, so lets make this happen, body of mine!
9/10 WEIGH IN DAY 150.6 Learning so much about my body! Love that I am so close to the 140s!! Planned hilly walk today and mountain bike too with DH. There is this concept I use, the Wheel, where if one spoke of your wheel is not where you want it, your road is bumpy, and you can't have the momentum you seek. My wheel with this increased physical activity is getting much more aligned, and I feel the pull towards my vision of being fit, happy, active and growing!!! Plus NSV DH is finally getting on board with me- makes it so much more fufilling :-)
9/11 151 Good day until I forgot how to unclip on my bike and fell over. Skinned elbows and bruised butt but mostly hurt ego. I was ticked off for a good hour after that. But I got over it. I thought I could control my addiction to this one type of protein bars, and bought an asst. to my demise...I ate 3 yesterday totalling over 600 calories. I could have had something so much better for that. I really considered not logging the third bar, but who was I hiding from? Myself? It reminds me of when I would sneak food and dispose of the evidence, bury the bag in the trash etc, comical really because I was only fooling myself. No one else was watching. Live and learn. I won't be buying the bars in in bulk, maybe just one once in a while. They are kinda gross but good, not sure why I like them! In my head I would much rather eat an eclair or cake or other real goodies!
9/12 150.6 Super emotionally draining day yesterday, and last night I felt a sore throat coming on, but overall as far as eating and moving a good day. I am so inicredibly blessed in my life and grateful to have tools to deal with the inevitable bumps.

9/14 149.6 Happy but surprised to see the 149 again, still dealing with this cold and feeling yuck. Ate popcorn and cookies last night hoping to feel better. Didn't work. Goal met for this round. Weekends are always tough in terms of wanting to "let loose" or "reward myself" but I have to remind myself that I'm not a puppy and I don't need food treats for good behavior. As I look back at my numbers over the last 10-15 rounds, it doesn't look like I've made any real progress. However, I've been doing Pilates class twice a week for the last few months and I AM stronger and healthier. I've made changes to my diet that will be sustainable forever. I'm looking forward to our annual health fair at the end of the month to see what my results look like. I feel stronger and healthier and more fit than I ever have before.

I am a 49 year old 5'4" woman. I will be 50 by the time this round ends though. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. Was looking over my diary and noticed that I am getting very little fiber and I can feel it. Today is Zumba, plan for some ways to slowly increase fiber in my diet, and make sure I get my water in.

It's water. The body isn't able to metabolize calories into measurable fat loss or gain that quickly. Actual weight/fat loss or gain is measurable as a trend over time.4 -

@AJB1014 I think you know the solution but don’t realize it. You were still hungry so you ate more but DIDN’T GET ENOUGH WATER. Next time drink a glass of water. We often THINK we are hungry when we are only thirsty. Drink, drink, drink!

9/14 - 179.0 I did not make goal due to the 3.4 pound overnight gain Wed/Thur. However, I am down 0.6 from the start so thankfully I am still on the downward trend. Stayed excellent in my plan yesterday. However, movement was restricted due to catch-up paperwork which always happens after a traveling day off. I am looking forward to round 53 where I will continue to work on better control during my frequent out-of-town excursions which tend to turn into all night binges. Ending on a positive note, I want to share how completely proud I am of all the changes I have made on the homefront these past few months. 90% of my time is spent doing weekly meal preps, making proper shopping lists, eating healthy foods, making good choices for my body overall, and incorporating exercise and it has all paid off. Home is my safety zone because it is so organized to my plan. One of my goals continues to be learning the ability to see food as fuel and make those good choices everywhere I go. •9/5 - 182.8 - Gee, I thought I had posted this. My son called me for some reassurance concerning my DGD early this morning. He wasn't sure that she would be able to find her classroom. Kindergarten classes are at the very back end of the school. Parents cannot enter the school with the children. First child in elementary school parent jitters. His baby. Not quite 100 ozs of water yesterday, which is MUCH better than the last 4 or 5 days. I have a couple of homegrown cucumbers from a friend. I added some thin slices to my lemon water. I'm shedding water like crazy.

•9/12 - 182 - I feel waterlogged and tired. I need electrolytes to balance this body fluid. I don't think I've had any for a week :dissapointed: and I need them every day.

@iamworthy14 and @heymossy Your gain is more likely related to what you ate 2-3 days prior.
@AJB1014 I think you know the solution but don’t realize it. You were still hungry so you ate more but DIDN’T GET ENOUGH WATER. Next time drink a glass of water. We often THINK we are hungry when we are only thirsty. Drink, drink, drink!
@MadisonMolly2017 Dehydration also can cause headaches. Are you getting enough water?3 -

9/11 202.2 Didn’t take as big of hit as I thought. Must be all the exercise I did on the weekend helped cover for that bag of M&M’s. I still can lose weight before this round is over. Did a really good job yesterday watching what I ate so there is hope... I do think this round won't see onederland.

9/05 160 went over on calories yesterday and had a late dinner.
9/06 160 So often I feed the kiddos and get busy with household duties, put them to bed and realize I haven't eaten dinner (and then it's late). We used to all sit down and eat together, but since the new baby it's hard to do sometimes. Going to work on that. I always enjoyed sitting down as a family at dinner time. It'll also help that I'm not eating so late as well.
9/07 159 I was sooo happy to see this number this morning! Yesterday I did great with my water (90 oz/2.66 liters), I have been forgetting to drink it so haven't gotten as much as I should lately. Under on calories, only had half my daily sugar and around 90 carbs.
9/08 159.5 Good day yesterday but ate a little late last night. Today is game day, so there will be finger foods. Hopefully I'll stay in my calorie range.
9/09 159 I did eat finger foods yesterday for the game, but didn't over indulge. Actually was full after what I ate, even though it wasnt very much. 😊
9/10 158.5 😊 stayed under yesterday and was a very low carb/sugar day. I have been aiming to do some type of exercise each day (I don't count housework because I'm constantly doing it with 3 kids, 4 if you count Hubby 😂). Didn't get any exercise in and felt guilty about it, but I know I shouldn't because I have been almost every day.
9/11 158 Another good day staying under, although ate pasta for dinner. Haven't had pasta in a long time. Only had a serving but felt like I was retaining fluid last night, especially in my hands. Drank a lot of water last night so feeling better this morning!
9/12 158 yesterday was a little tough because I was hungry all day. Stayed under though and got through it.
9/13 158 very high carb day yesterday. Going to do better today!
9/14 157.5 I'm so proud 😊 .5 away from my goal this round but it's ok! I think expecting 3 lbs is too much a round since I've already had great results. Ready for round 53! Each of you are doing amazing and you're all an inspiration to me💗9 -
