I watched a video of myself without hating it. First time in my life. Partly because I am losing weight, mostly because I have been working on my self image.35

400 days and 60lbs into this journey I finally bought smaller undies!
Have been changing out other parts of my wardrobe all along the way, but kept just making do with the ever looser skivvies.34 -
I said NO to pizza today.
-2 kgs for 10 days and it makes me so happy!
8 KG-s to go!24 -
I just got back into striving for weight loss and already had a bit of an NSV. Well actually I've had 2. A few weeks ago I was putting on clothes I haven't worn for about 5 years, XLs. Some are tight but they're very very close it's 100% achievable. The other I had yesterday driving to work. I was thinking about working out and hitting the gym again which felt exciting. Usually I am feeling guilty for not going but yesterday I was just excited to workout. I was trying to figure out what came over me and remembered that lately I've been going on more consistent walks with my 11 month old husky, pushing both of us to go longer each time. It hit me like a ton of bricks that I've started feeling the effects of more consistent exercise in my mood and just have begun to pick up momentum and that felt amazing. I forgot how good it feels to workout!32

Yesterday my daughter said: “Dad! You’re looking super toned! You used to have a bigger belly!”37

Love your profile picture!1 -
I ran into someone I hadn't seen since May (I had already lost half of my weight last time I saw her, come to think of it) and she said she almost didn't recognize me I looked so much different. I took it as a compliment, even though it wasn't outright. I was really happy to see her too
I've moved up to the third notch on my small belt. When I got it I could barely use the largest, now I'm on the third. That said I think the leather also stretches a little because the tape measure hasn't changed that much!
My new pants are slipping down when I wear them. It's annoying they don't have belt loops. I may have to find a way to add belt loops. They still look fine, they just slip with the stretch.
I did try a pair of pants on in the same size but they are too small, but too small for my growing quads.18 -
I teach in a high school. Today, I was teaching a group I already taught last year, and they have told me they have been talking about how much slimmer I am this year.18

I've been buying either XLT or XXL (for the length) and I was starting to get lost in my XLT shirts, so wifey and I picked out three LT shirts after trying them on.
So I've gone from 38w pants/jeans that were getting tight to 34w pants/jeans that are comfortably loose in the past 7 months.
Woot!
Purged my closet of anything larger than a 36" waist today....
Off to the thrift store to see what they have in 34-35" jeans, pants and shorts.13 -
Met with a trainer at the gym to set up a routine. When he asked me my objective I sad to be trim and fit. He said "you mean to stay trim and fit, right?". I told him I do want a little more definition and he had me sign up for his core class next week. He also had me do a few dumbbell exercises in front of the mirror to point out I already have pretty good definition when under load. Came away with a good routine set up and feeling really good about myself.24

@ExistingFish If you figure out how to add belt loops please post it - I would love to know. I have 2 denim skirts that are sliding all over the place, that I would like to keep wearing.3

The idea seems pretty simple, I just googled it and I'm watching a video. I'm what I'd call an "Advanced beginner" on the sewing machine though, I've been doing it all my life.

This is the tutorial I'm going to use. I just need some scraps or a small piece of black denim. Too bad I don't have any black pants that don't fit.5 -

Went shopping yesterday. One for my husband: he was in the last belt hole of his old belt, bought a new one and measured against his old belt it's four holes down from the last hole in the old belt.
Shopping for clothes now never gets old! I'm still about ten pounds away from my best weight but I'm already seeing myself in the dressing room mirror and thinking I look the way I want to.12 -

I don't own a sewing machine, but I have enough embroidery thread to fill a suitcase. So I guess I just need a really strong needle and a thimble to get through the denim. - I'll try that - It can't hurt anything2 -

A sewing machine can be close to useless on more than a couple layers of denim anyway. A strong needle, like you said, and a good solid thimble (I use a leather thimble with a little metal "coin" set into it). Good luck!

There are so, so many.
But the most recent one is sitting cross legged on the bed, looking straight down, and not seeing my belly. Then leaning back, and still not seeing it, because it's a lot smaller than it used to be.

Alternatively, @Evelyn_Gorfram and @ExistingFish, for denim, if you know how to crochet: Fasten a suitable weight cord (doubled, if neceesary) on the inside, then take a tapestry needle or awl, and make a hole you can bring the cord through, to the front (or two holes, if doubled cord, just leaving the center of the cord on the inside). Pull up chain stitches in the cord with a crochet hook to the length you need for a belt loop, then take the cord back to the inside and fasten off. It's a little eccentric, but not crazy, and totally fine if the shirt's not tucked in, or the belt matches the cord.
Another option is to make a belt loop from fabric (make a tube, turn, cut pieces to length allowing for a bit to be turned under or inside at the ends to hide the raw edges). Then blind-stitch the top and bottom of the belt loop (raw edges turned under, or to inside of the tube) in a little square to the waistband (by a square, I mean stitch along the outside (turned under) edge, down one side of the belt loop for maybe 1/4 inch or thereabouts, across again on the inside (between the belt loop and waistband) to the other side of the belt loop, then stitch up to where you started. Small, tight stitches can be strong enough. Since these are blind stitches, you don't have to force a needle through the full denim thickness, just use a fine hand needle, catch a couple of threads with each stitch, keep the stitches small and close. Do another square at the other turned under/in end of the belt loop to hold the bottom of it to the waistband. Be sure that you've left enough room for your belt of choice to pass through the open part of the loops.

Gaining weight was necessary for me, but I've developed habits that won't help me now that I'm trying to maintain. So I'm trying to decrease my carb intake. Carbs don't keep me satiated, and too much cause digestive issues. I work at a food co-op, and am so used to buying snacks there. Plus I have a jar of dried apricots in my locker. My NSVs are that I didn't buy a snack, nor did I eat any of the apricots. I'll save them for lifting days17

I don't know what NSV stands for exactly but my recent victory is fitting into a size 14 jeans again. Yay!
Plus breaking the weight loss plateau I've been on for the past 2.5 months.25 -

@Lightwaves1 Woot! Congrats on both of those!
NSV is Non-Scale Victory. Since is so easy to get hung up on the numbers on the scale, it's important to remember that weight loss is not about those numbers, but about the difference the weight loss creates in little everyday things (and some not-so-little). It's especially important when you're stuck on a long plateau to remember that the real prize - or one of them, anyway - is fitting into size 14 jeans.7 -
Went on vacation for a month and lost weight instead of gaining! Didn't have access to a scale. Getting the hang of intuitive eating?21

I hate pictures of myself, but I felt so great after my hike today that I took a selfie! Then I posted it on Facebook and made it my profile picture! Then I posted it on here! What's happening to me?! Lol

My NSV this week was fitting perfectly into a shirt that I squeezed into when I bought it 5 years ago, and realizing that this means I can now wear everything in my closet (except maybe a dress that would be way too baggy)!
It’s taken me a long time, but I’m finally back to my “normal” weight. This time, however, I feel empowered to reach my healthy weight!25 -
@SaritaJack Thanks! The hat is a kids hat from Cabelas lol! Good job fitting into your "normal" weight clothes!! I have a long way before I reach that myself but I'm so looking forward to whipping out that suitcase!
@Needtoloseweight43 Thank you!!7 -

@hobbitses333
Sometimes the scale lies (water retention, particularly once a month for women), the mirror lies (we can't see our bodies change), but clothing always tells the truth! Snug pants falling off, yep, that's honesty letting you know that you need a smaller size and a belt would also be a good investment to prevent embarrassing situations where your pants do fall off (only happened to me once, then I immediately bought a belt).7 -
