I am 5'2" so I am a shortie as well. I just started and it is going fine. Having a hard time keeping my carbs down to where it should be. No snack seems to be without carbs! Any suggestions1

How low are you trying to keep your carbs? Personally, I love carbs and doing low-carb just makes me miserable. You can lose weight without cutting the carbs, I’ve lost 24 lbs so far. If you are keeping to your calorie goal I wouldn’t worry about it.4 -
I'm 5'1" and I've lost weight twice with MFP. Currently maintaining and recomping at 126-27 and a size 2 with an eventual plan to lose a few more vanity pounds. My highest weight ever was 220, but I started this second time around at 195lbs. almost 18 months ago after my 5th baby was born. I primarily focused on calories and incorporated a progressive strength program to maintain muscle as I lost weight. Currently working out three days a week with a full body program and staying as active as possible. Maintenance is around 2400 calories.

5'2" here! Started at 155lb and am currently 125lb.. it took about 14 months to achieve the 30lb loss, eating 1200 calories a day and mostly just walking, whether at the gym or outside on my lunch break or in the evening.
I've been in maintenance for a few months now and haven't had any issues gaining back. I'm SO much happier where I am now and hope to stay this way forever. It's hard work, but totally worth it!

5'2" (almost). First picture is at my heaviest at 188 (age 49). In 2017 I had a hysterectomy and started loosing weight. Second picture is from Jan 2018 and 128 pounds (age 59). I used MFP to track my calories in and out (CICO). It worked for me this time.
I became a runner after the weight loss, 5ks, 10ks, and currently prepping for a half marathon. Running has helped with toning and I have maintained the weight loss for a year now. My husband had never seen me at this weight. He is thrilled and so am I.

1) you look completely sensational
2) “maintenance is around 2400 calories” is literally the best thing I’ve ever read on MFP12 -

I'm still nursing the giant baby man that I'm holding in the bottom left picture so I actually eat about 2600 to maintain. 2400 is my best guess for actual maintenance if I weren't nursing based on my own data.4 -
How did you ladies decide your goal weight? By how you look, by dress size or some other calculation?1

I wanted to get into a healthy BMI range while also maintaining as much muscle mass as possible. This is the first time I've been within a healthy BMI in my entire adult life, and I really wanted to know what it would look like but mentally it's been easier to deal with fluctuations since I'm still staying within a healthy range. I don't plan to go below 120 since I know I'm in a great place to continue recomping from there and it's easy for me to maintain in the 120s. If I hadn't been strength training the whole time and my body fat percentage was higher, I probably would have thought I needed to lose more weight.6 -
I chose my military weight initially of 120, but I have maintained 130 for a year now size 4/6 and I'm very happy with it.0

I'm 5 ft 2. I lost about 20 lb over 3 months and currently trying to lose more (maybe 8 or 10 lb)
I am planning to let my body shape and fat distribution guide me. I also would love to build some muscle but I haven't started that journey yet.2 -
I’m 5 ft 2 also. I’ve lost a little over 60 pounds so far over the last 9 months, and am about half way to goal.
Have just started learning to run which is something I’ve NEVER been able to do, so I’m pretty excited about that!2 -
4'7" here and lost 50 pounds! I hope I'm not "too short" to post in this thread!
I used to wear a 4x/26 pants, now I wear a size 1x shirt, size 18 pants, size 2x dress. I started off weighing 240 and now I weigh 190. I have more energy! I'm loving how my body is continually changing as I'm losing weight!24 -
