This thread is for anyone who rides a bicycle ... or unicycle, tricycle, tandem, etc.

Do you bike to work? Do you pull your children to the park? So you ride weekends? Do you spin at home or in the gym? Is Zwift your thing? Do you race crits, ironman, or centuries? Or, are you just starting out and remembering how much fun you had biking when you were a kid? However you choose to push your pedal, you are welcome on this thread.

There's no set challenge across participants - this is a mixed-ability / mixed-experience / everyone welcome group. Just pick your own target that you want to achieve this month, post that when you join the thread, and post updates throughout the month as you're working towards your target.

I just bought a bike, so I don't know how long/far I'll go, but I'm in!

Think I'll just try to go a little further each week and see how that goes!

Hi all, I was lurking in the September thread for the last week or so. Fresh month now, so I thought I would join in.

The last big event I had planned for this year was Saturday and I have no distance events lined up for October (definitely riding to Biketoberfest, though ), but I do commute by bike and I am determined to get some time on the trainer a couple of times a week. Should amount to 400 miles by the end of the month.

Back from a four day cycling holiday in Cornwall.
Beautiful countryside to explore but very challenging terrain with lots of steep sided valleys. Very low average speeds as there were few times where you could either get into a rhythm or even let the bike run away downhill as roads were often very narrow and with restricted lines of sight.

Curiously very few cyclists to be seen but the flip side was the general traffic density was very low too.

...and i registered for a 200k in a couple of weeks so i suppose my new goal is 520 miles for this month.

Really good cycling week for me.
Three rides in Cornwall Mon/Tues/Weds, a brisk local ride on Friday and a 108km Audax event on Sunday. Really well organised, very friendly people and the route was beautifully scenic on quiet roads - but quite challenging with 1174m of elevation.

174 miles / 280 km for the week. 3707 meters of elevation.
I'm going to see if I can accumulate 8848m of climbing this month if the weather stays good.
Pat yourself on the back if you get the significance of that number.

5hrs 120Km 1200M, a first for me, it was raining but i still went out for a ride.

It's been bugging me that when the Velo South event was cancelled last month although I replaced it with other rides I had specifically trained for a Century ride but didn't get to fully use the results of my training.

Yesterday's ride lets me tick that item off. 100 miles mostly in rural Berkshire using part of a London to Bath route I did a few years ago - nice quiet roads. Weather was more like June than October.

Legs weren't completely recovered from Sunday's Audax but it was too good a day not to ride and these opportunities will become few and far between as the days get shorter. 6 hrs 11 mins. Sub 6 hours would have been nice - next time perhaps.

Now got a nagging feeling that as this is my first year retired two Centuries aren't really enough, as one goal is ticked off another one gets added,....

Quite a mix this week: a couple of rides just to/from the gym, century ride, a far too exciting 25 mile ride in very windy weather and a session indoors on the Wattbike getting used to training with a power meter again.

153 miles for the week. 330 miles for the month with just over 5000m of climbing.

Quieter week for me, 95 miles.
Did manage to get a PR on two of the hills I love to hate, nice to confirm an improvement on what has been the hardest aspect of cycling for me.
