I couldn't find my jeans for work and had the hubby helping to look for them (we just got back from a road trip and he had done laundry so I figured he had an idea where they were). He said he saw a pair on the kitchen table but that they were our daughter's. I believed him and kept searching. Turns out the jeans are my new smaller size and he thought they were for our petite 16 year old I'm not petite by any means but for him to think they were our teenagers made my day!40

I swam two miles. I actually reached this goal in April, but it takes a long time, so I don't always go for it. Last week, I had the time. Even though my intent was to do 1.25-1.5mi, I had the opportunity to keep going and I told myself to use the time to log one of my 2-swims for the month (a goal of mine to stay fit and keep to a workout plan through winter). So I did28

Actually took some measurements this morning, I don't measure myself very often at all however: I'm down an inch on hips, waist and bust (aka the three dress mannequin adjusters, which I'm occasionally having to adjust24

My NSV is a good friends 60lb SV... he has tried losing weight for years, I turned him on to MFP and he has now inspired me to get out of my rut and back on maintenance after my 50lb loss... life is good27

Welcome to the gun show! 💪💪 your arms/shoulders look AMAZING... great work!!11 -

Just for the heck of it, today I tried on a size smaller set of scrub pants than I normally wear. I looked at them thinking there would be no way they would fit, I just wanted to see how much farther I had to go. Holy moly, they fit, they're comfortable, and I can bend and move in them! So I tried on the same size top, and again a wonderful surprise. I haven't taken measurements in a couple of weeks, but I guess there's a change there even if the scale isn't saying anything. I haven't worn this size in a year!28

I have stayed under 2000 calories every day this week - long enough to see the scale start to move again! I didnt eat the rice Krispies that were available at my meeting yesterday.
And even though I'm rehabbing my ankle and shoulder, was so excited to find out I can exercise by doing water aerobics!

I got a Fitbit about a month ago, and it's been great for tracking exercise; and for monitoring my sleep, which is an area I have a lot of trouble with. I've had trouble with figuring out how to set the other stuff up - Fitbit apparently didn't anticipate any as slow and sedentary as me - but I tried putting in some new settings the other night.
Yesterday was an unusually busy/stressful day for me. After a dentist appoint where they weren't able to fill my tooth and sent me off with a recommendation for extraction, I was still too woozy to drive. I hadn't had lunch yet, either; and so I walked over to a coffee place and got a fruit/yogurt smoothie I could drink through a straw. And there there was traffic on the way home, yadda, yadda. Once I was finally at home & could relax a bit, my Fitbit started malfunctioning.
It must have shorted out or something. The thing was buzzing like a manic bumble bee and all sort of lights were flashing and the display had gone haywire. But then it settled down, and flashed my daily calorie expenditure goal.
The Fitbit was just celebrating that, for the first time in a month of wearing the thing, my activity level had finally exceeded my daily calorie goal.46 -
BOOTS! I bought four pairs of boots this week. Regular boots. That zip up! The kind of boots other women have been wearing for years, but not me. Not with my former 17"-18" calves. But now! NOW my calves are just under 15" and I can walk into a store, pick out a pair (or 4 pairs) of boots, try them on, and buy the ones I want! And I have worn them to work every day this week! And I will likely wear them a lot this winter! Because I can! Yay me!44

Oh, and there are more: I had a follow up appointment with my primary care provider this week. I'm off my blood pressure medicine (been on it for 11 years now). And my blood sugar was 94. Lower than it has been in at least 20 years! Yeah, I am on a roll!43

Had my coolest NSV today. I'm a HS teacher and coach. I have kept my students involved in my weight loss to help keep me accountable. I posted my weight and goals on my board in my room and they would get on me if I hadn't updated for a few days. They were super encouraging the last 2 years as I've lost 107 pounds so far.
I had a student in class last year whose mom teaches here as well. She mentioned at the end of last year that he had been inspired to lose weight and get fit after watching my progress and had started eating better and working out. He dropped by my class this week to say hi and I immediately noticed and commented on his weight loss. He has lost over 60 lbs! Hands down best NSV for me yet! Super proud of him and his progress.82 -
As of this morning, I am halfway to goal and have also dropped BMI category to Overweight! I was stalled all this week, waiting for that magical moment to happen, and I just couldn't get over the line! Great to start the weekend with it!
My real NSV is that despite finding my current rate of loss manageable and motivating, this morning I have adjusted my goal rate of loss downwards (from 1.5lb pw to 1lb pw) now that I have less to lose. My natural instinct is to press ahead as fast as possible, but I am also listening to all the good advice on here!36 -
@NealNH Thank you for your support lol and yea, like nothing fancy at all! Just carrots/cucumbers/peppers etc cut up like julienne style (but a little thicker) with a ranch dip drizzled over them, and parsley for prettiness. Exactly the same as veggies + dip but arranged a little nicer and eaten with a fork instead of fingers. I think it's the novelty of the presentation that did it, not the recipe itself! Even the dip was the same ol' packet mixed with sour cream! The other was 'fried rice' but made with riced cauliflower instead of rice (lol I just nuked some steamable pre-riced cauli and mixed with steamable mixed veggies, tossed some soy sauce, and voila! Microwave did all the work they think I actually cook).
It seems like veggies are coming easier and easier to me with these sorts of little changes. Makes me happy!9 -
This is day 3 for me. My starting weight is 324 and i wont be able to step on a scale for 5 weeks. But i had my first nsv. I went out for a morning walk 2nd day in a row! Yesterday I made 10000 steps and thats my goal again today.
On the way back home today and elderly couple in an rv were cheering me on and giving me thumps up as i crossed the street. It was so sweet and made me feel really good.57 -
@Caseyloupuckett Good for you - keep up the good work! That 5 weeks will go by quickly and, if you stick with controlling your portion sizes, watching your calories and moving more you will see a good result. You got this!15
