I am new in returning to MFP and I LOVE reading these, they are so inspiring - so post away people!20

I've been doing the same set of stretches most days for years now. Lately I've noticed that I have to be a little more careful to get my limbs & joints all properly aligned for each stretch: I have a greater range of motion now that there's less of me restricting how things can bend.30

Last week I decided it was time to get back into the gym (I usually don't go in the Summer, I'd prefer to walk outside than on the treadmill). I set my alarm for 6am and was there by 6:15am (I live across the street from the gym), I've stuck to my goals and have gotten there several times so far. Feels good to be back at it!34

One for the ladies! Nsv 1 - I needed to be measured for bras and to buy a new swimsuit for my holidays. NSV 2 - my trip to the Bravissimo fitting rooms, complete with very efficient (and lovely and patient) assistants and the horrid fluorescent lighting was not the usual embarrassing and shameful episode. I felt OK! Did not want to curl up with complete shame when faced with ladies assessing my figure and inspecting the 'fit' of my undies 🤣🤣🤣 Came out with well fitting undies and a new tankini and a much lighter bank balance30

Tonight I got treats ready for the trick-or-treaters, since the monsters will be out by the time I get home from work tomorrow. Just realized we've had two very large bags of candy (including stuff hubby and I love!) stored in the pantry for at least two weeks, and the bags were still sealed! This is definitely a first for both of us. And I haven't eaten any since I opened the bags several hours ago, either. I was barely even tempted.28

I went out this morning in pants that were unwearably tight (couldn't pull up past my thighs) at the start of the summer. I am going to need a belt to keep wearing them, as they now slide down!25

^ As above.... I went for a yearly visit to one of my specialists, he wanted to make sure it was me because the picture he had on file didn't match my face. Granted, I grew out the hair on my scalp and now have a lot more facial hair but you can clearly notice how the picture in my chart my face was very round. He asked me to have another picture taken so it looks more like me.22

I haven't had heartburn in over 2 days!33

I used to be a runner ~10 years ago. About a year ago I wanted to take up running again. I struggled with getting past run 3 minutes, walk 1. My body ached, I gave up. Now 42 lbs lighter I decided to give it a go again ~3 weeks ago. For my first run I did 2 km fairly easily and continuously. By the next week I could do 4 km. Last night I did 3 km but ran pretty much full out for it because I have so much energy. Imagine trying to run 4 km with a 42lb back pack on..... no wonder I struggled!30

I went to the gym 17 times this month (and managed not to hurt myself!), up from 11 times in September...and maybe 4 in August!33

It's Halloween and I only ate two pieces of snack size candy today. I went over on my deficit but not above maintenance calories, which I'm ok with. I'm not hungry right now and don't feel the need to dig into the candy bowl. This feels like a huge nsv since I remember overeating on lots of candy last Halloween!28

I went to a meeting today where the team leader handed out full size candy bars to everyone....but I politely declined. This was a HUGE step for me.36

Since starting, I have tightened the band on my Apple Watch from the second bulb to the fourth bulb. Soon I’ll be able to switch to the small wristband!27

I just got my misfit in the mail this evening! I already sycn it to myfitnesspal. This is a big victory for me because now Im offically financially invested in my health. I tend to care more about things I pay for. I don't know if thats just me or not. But hey whatever works right?26

I went out in a Halloween costume all day (time constraints meant I had to wear it from morning) and I worked, ran errands, ate, and went to a festival without feeling anxious about people watching and/or making fun of me.26

I bought a magnetic exercise bike three and a half weeks ago. I thought I was doing pretty good doing weight exercises daily and half hour walks each day. I was surprised I could only ride it for about five minutes after I put it together then I was completely winded. I'm now averaging about a 100 miles per week. My average cadence is between 100 rpm and 110 rpm. I did a 31 minute session this afternoon. I just finished completing a 35 minute session. Two sessions in one day at a good pace. I am pretty happy about that. I haven't had cardio like this in years. Slowly working back to a reasonable level of fitness. I would like to be in the condition I was in my mid 20's. That will take time. Cycling is combined with weights and, hopefully, not eating to much food that will compromise my goals - which is weight loss. I used to be 155 - 160 pounds in my younger years. I currently weigh in at 217 pounds. I have fought diabetes/prediabetes all my life - currently use insulin (watch your sugars). I used to road ride and mountain bike trail ride in my younger years. This exercise bike really helps out - completely quiet, 8 resistance levels, nice comfy seat, and computer tracks trip distance, calories, time, speed, odometer. I am excited to be doing this and achieving goals - don't have to go outside ride in the inclement weather. Better than in 2014 when I was lying in ER, the Doc's telling me I have 10% chance to live. They said if I want to live, I will have to really dig down deep and try. It was really hard lying in that hospital bed and listening to the whispering aspens, when I know I had so many more things I want to do. I'm a few more steps closer to getting to a level I want. Going to take some time, but will get there. I was always really fit, all the way up to my thirties - currently 50yrs old. It feels good to be sweating again, working out and increasing my stamina. Work towards getting back that feeling of being in the 'zone'.33

BEST THING that has happened with all of this was my wife gave me a hug the other day and could reach her arms all the way around me....she commented...told me she was proud of me and hugged me tighter....awesome...cannot put into words what that meant to me --so worth all the food tracking and gym time. Outside of that my cloths are now obviously too big and have moved to the point that I can no longer wear them, so new clothes are on the agenda. Many more but those two things have had the biggest impact on me and motivation to keep working hard.40

1000 day streak today yay! It's also time to reassess my goals and shake up the routine, try out different foods, experiment with other tastes and combinations to ensure I dont fall into a rut..most importantly that I maintain and/or improve on my weight loss achievements so far....next goal 2000 day streak37

I bought a Vivienne Westwood vintage blazer on line, size XS. It was an original and I know how the sizing in these top brands run small. I was scared that it would be too small, but I really wanted it as I had always loved the design.
It arrived in the mail and it does not only fit. It looks amazing!30 -
I did all the jumps instead of the modified move in my body combat class25

The more I feel my waist is shrinking, the more sexy my clothes get 😂21
