I noticed there's folks reacting to positive posts with a "Woo" response. Remember that "Woo" on here is not a good thing. The "Woo" response means the post is using pseudoscience to explain something in the real world. It's a poorly worded response since it can also connote something positive in English. On this forum it means, "You're full of ...." There's even an MFP announcement about it from when they added it. I wish they'd rename it because it confuses plenty of folks.4

@mtaratoot, Exactly! I do not know why MFP insists on keeping that response. If you want to cheer someone, then POST your response as a WOOT!, WOOP! WTG! If you already know what Woo means and click that response, I say keep your negativity to yourself.1

It's very true that the Woo is considered a negative on MFP. If you look at the little emoji, it even has a bad or sad face. It is poorly named by Under Armour. @tiabirdie56 is also correct. The best way to say "way to go" to someone is to hit the Quote button at the bottom of the post and type an encouraging comment. I am sure, however, that most people who hit the Woo thinks they are being nice. We are just trying to inform here.....5 -

Thanks for this. I just assumed everybody knew woo was negative and have been very surprised at the range of posts receiving woo. Maybe MFP does need to make it clearer. You've made me feel a bit better about this discussion, my belief that we had a couple of negative people reading the posts may not be correct.3
