@TrishasTime The pigeons found me. Thank you. I’m having a hard time with routine since my youngest son is visiting. Especially on the weekends I’m still working towards it. I feel for you and the humidity. I’m just glad it’s cooler here right now. My friend did that hello fresh and she liked it.

@trooworld Trisha’s pigeons beat your hounds Thank u I use queue a lot but then I had an English friend who used it all the time. When I first heard queue my mind thought cue and I was thinking a pool table. Lol.
You have to find a plan that works for you and is sustainable in the long run so I hope that Noom and emails is successful for you.

@TeresaW1020 They wouldn’t want me as coordinator in a church because if more people didn’t step up then I would bring all the babies back into the service to bother everyone for the days I didn’t have a volunteer. Or I would make it mandatory on every family and rotate. If you had only 50 families then that’s only one time a year. Everyone wants the blessings but few will step up and do the work. See why I’m not a coordinator. Lol. I’m trying to limit my nighttime caffeine

@cbabie. TedTalks are very motivating I think. I like to put it on and I clean my bedroom or bathroom as I listen. I don’t really need to watch.

@TrishasTime So what do you think is the difference this time around working towards your 5%?

Ok think I’m finally caught up Now to just stay that way.

@trooworld I was looking for some TedTalks on YouTube and saw this about Noom. As she says you and others might have a different experience but it’s better to know just in case I wonder if the difference in price is for people who cancel before the 8 months is over.

    Good morning!

@theslightedgeforever, Yikes I just watched that video. I sure hope Trooworld doesn't have that kind of experience. I just hate when I company misrepresents themselves! :s You are so funny! I really can't complain because we do have great volunteers in our church. We had 8 boys born in a two-year span and that doesn't count the other littles that are in the nursery. We are in talks now about starting up a pre-school for those that are potty trained but too young for children's church. Of course, that will take volunteers! :D I only ended up being the one to make the schedule because I adore my children's pastor and took the job off her very busy plate. She actually had two of the boys in that 2 year period. Trooworld sent me some TED talks to listen to. I'm excited to get to listening starting tomorrow.

@TrishasTime, yes my DH goes to church with me. :) Interesting story, he was a Catholic for 70 years and feeling very dissatisfied with his spiritual life and wanting me to find a church home, he said that he would maybe come with me if I found a church he liked. I choose the Baptist church down the street from us and the rest is history. He is a deacon and finance director for the church. To say that our lives revolve around this little church would be an understatement, but we love it and have never been happier!! <3

@trooworld, I don't know how much avocados are here. I'm very bad at not looking at food prices. I just buy what's on my list and let my husband figure out the budget. :D:D

It's 35 degrees this morning but clear and beautiful! I love fall. Might have to go out and do something today after church. Of course, I should clean my house. It's getting embarrassing at this point. I also need to figure out my menu for next week and give some thought to Thanksgiving at the church and what I will make at my house. I usually make this amazing cranberry chutney but it's so loaded with sugar. I'm wondering if I can substitute the sugar for Truvia and if it would taste as good. Any of you do that? Hubby let me buy a pair of tall boots yesterday online that were on sale. Said it will be a Christmas present. I have never had a pair of tall boots because of my weight, but he seems to think I can pull it off now. I'm excited and really hoping that they fit and are comfortable! :)

I’m glad you found your niche in the church. I don’t know if Truvia would work or not. I want some tall boots too but don’t know if my calves will fit. I had that same problem as a child. I wasn’t a fat child either. Just big calves. Well I guess it makes my ankles look smaller 😜

I exercised 60 min. Let the party begin. 🎉 🎈

    Hi everyone

@theslightedgeforever - What was the difference? The fact that I knew within myself that my health wold only get worse. No one else was going to do it for me. it was kind a of a mind set change. It all came at the same time when I decided no more alcohol. Well done on the 60 min exercise. I am with you all the way re the Coordinator bit - yes I would bring the children back in to sit with their parents and I would also have a roster where each week there would be a spare, so between the 2 parties they could sort themselves out. People do take advantage unfortunately.

@TeresaW2010 - Yes I often swap out sugar for either "Stevia" in Aus or apple sauce. Although apple sauce usually go in muffins :) I love the stores about you and your husband. I am a non practising Catholic. Looking forward to a picture of you in your tall boots.

@trooworld - Hope all is well with you. I just hope that this was one off experience for the u-tube video above. She did raise some valid points, but I am sure you have that covered

    Hello to everyone else

Today I actually got up at 5am and walked the dogs. Step count is going well today. Did some cooking yesterday - Greek chicken meatballs which is 0 points for about 5. Cocoa Bliss balls which is 1 point each and by gee they are scrummy. I have added the link for you guys

Morning all! I apologize I haven't been on consistently. My routine has changed so much, but I am trying to get a good routine. I realize I am nothing but routine. I like structure, I like boring..LOL I thank you for all of your comments about my fasting and seeking answers. I loved everyone's comments about what they would do for workers. You know sometimes God allows seasons in our lives to help mold us into what He had planned for us to do and be. I taught yesterday my AK class (ages 1st through 6th grade). It was fun, but had to send one of the kids to his parents. I hate to do that, but you can't let one child take charge and ruin it for all. I think some of his behavior is diet..it's amazing what our diet has influence over us..LOL My DH is fasting for medical reasons...so our house is quite the weird status right now...so its a good time for me to stay the course...

@TrishasTime thanks for sending out the hounds...and thanks for the links. It's always something in our lives that has a changing impact on our health. I quit smoking over one of my kids...funny you are moving into summer and humidity, we are moving into cold and dryness.

@trooworld I loved looking at your menu...I laughed at myself though...I saw your menu and I thought this looks good, my menu would say gravy and biscuits, spaghetti..yes I love my carbs...I hate trying to decide what to cook as well. I have picky eaters in my house, except my DH...he has always been one to eat what I cooked and tell me it was good.

@TeresaW1020 I saw you were going to write your lesson, do you use a curriculum or write it yourself? I have people who want to be in the nursery, but not in the other classes...LOL...I too love your stories. I am so glad I don't live in the cold cold anymore...It's 49 here and I am freezing, but it's also 6am. It's supposed to be high of 66 and that's cool for me..LOL I love wearing sweaters...covers up a multitude of sins as they say.

@theslightedgeforever glad you are enjoying your youngest. I am hearing a baby in the monitor...I just fed her, but she decided she wanted to lay and play...I know how you would run the children's ministry..(your like Mom in that area) LOL Are Ted Talks video and not audio? Well my bathrooms are so small, I could only listen for 15 min...max. I will check it out...great job on the exercising!! I got my 10K steps in on Saturday...now to do it again without going grocery shopping..LOL

Okay gals, hope you all have a great veterans day...it's amazing to me that all the kids I taught yesterday, they knew why we celebrate Veterans Day..I was so proud of them and their parents.

    Morning all,
Well I didn't do well yesterday, I kept munching...my DH has a colonoscopy today, and then I will be at the church the rest of the day. This was hard on him. He had to fast for 2 days..LOL I laughed, I said I did it for 3 weeks....he just looked at me.

@trooworld I am sure you did great on the Toastmasters speech. I am glad Trish came and found you..I missed you.
luckily my DH will eat most anything and he has for most of his life been thin...not so much me. LOL

@gemwolf110 Glad to see you. I have never done a vendor booth for YL...I love my oils...I am glad you got to hook us with your sister...they are important in our lives...speaking of which where is mine? LOL

Okay have to jump in the shower so I am ready to leave when DH has to go.

@Trishastime, well I'm glad you like my stories because it seems to be a part of my personality to overshare my life! :D:D Today, I bought Truvia that is part stevia and part sugar. I thought that might be good for my cranberry chutney. Fingers crossed!! My boots arrive on Thursday. If they fit and are comfortable I will wear them on Sunday to the church Thanksgiving dinner and will have Joe take my picture and show you all. :)

@cbabie, I use a curriculum for my Sunday school class but for children's church (we call it Canopy Kids) I write my own lesson. What we do is follow the exact lesson that the pastor is teaching on and we just tailor it to fit the kids. That way when parents and kids are back together after service they will be pretty much on the same page and can talk about what they learned. The hardest part of it all is getting the pastor to give us enough info early enough to write our lesson. He is not much of a planner, which drives our children's director and me a little batty. :D I'm sorry you had a difficult child. I have an 8 year old boy in my Sunday school class who is a real challenge. His poor parents are at their wit's end as to what to do with him. We are all praying for some miraculous maturity. o:)

@Trooworld, Walmart avocados were $1.39 and Trader Joes were $1.19. :p I think I don't buy them because I'm not sure how to pick a ripe one. Guess I could Google it! :D

@gemwolf110, your day with your sister sounds like so much fun. My sister lives in another state and I really miss doing fun things with her.

So, I lost a whopping .02 this week. I really gotta get it together! I thought this was a good week but obviously, I'm still eating too much. I am going to seriously focus on sugar this week. I watched all those TED talks that trooworld sent me and they were a real eye-opener. Our meeting today talked about mindless eating and how to be more aware. I'm the fastest eater on the planet and really need to work on that as well. My husband suggested I just follow his example. I don't know if I can eat that slow! :#

I went to Trader Joes this morning before my normal Walmart trip. What a lovely store! So many things to look at and buy. I bought some spices, things for Thanksgiving dinner, and those chicken cilantro wontons that seem to be all the rage on the WW boards. We will see! Their prices weren't that bad at all. I bought red bell peppers for .99 and Walmart sells them for $1.48. I also found Delicata squash. Soooo excited to give that a try! :)

Hey ladies, I am back, thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers for my hubby, he’s doing good now, he has just one kidney stone and that will slip away or dissolve hopefully with medication. It was quite scary though, hospitals and doctors and scans, just hope his test next week doesn’t throw up any surprises.

So I have decided to re-evaluate my goals regarding weight loss. I am going to calculate my body fat percentage at home, found a formula on the internet. So my goals is to be 48 kgs by December 31st, because I reliased that every year we make resolutions about losing weight, and this year I want my resolution to be about staying healthy and fit

I did travel a bit to my in-laws for Diwali (the Indian Festival of Lights and celebration of good over evil) something like Christmas for Indians. The kids enjoyed themselves and we went completely mad with food. All this ends now. I have given up having my daily beer for the past 2 days and doing well

Will post one-on-one comments later, now running to the gym, so excited to get back to my routine

    Love and cheers to all

    Hey everyone,
@trooworld so sweet for wanting to send out hounds for me, really touched. This procedure I hope is routine and not too serious. In India everyone fasts once or more times a week for religious reasons and eat fruits in the day and one meal at night, lean protein ya a lot of options turkey, chicken I guess, got a packet of buckwheat pasta, it’s a little thicker than normal pasta but healthier and didn’t taste so bad.
I went to the Noom app but it’s too expensive and Though i am a strong believer in weight loss being related to psychological reasons. So I decided to read more about it on google and didn’t subscribe to it.

@theslightedgeforever how are you, you’ve been in my thoughts for all the time was away and kept remembering all your quotes when I had to make decision about eating the wrong foods. Hope you’re able to continue on on your exercise regimen. Just one more thing, I like watching Elle Ip’s videos on YouTube “beyond expectations”, she is truly inspiring , she says 80 percent of weight loss is about what you eat and 20 percent is exercise, I like to make that ratio 70:30, just a thought.

@TeresaW1020 hey there, how are you, your posts are so delightful to read, even I have been craving sugar a lot, and my parents are visiting and brought a tub of ice cream for us and I did go crazy on the first day but reminded myself it’s not good. Plus I just can’t stop snacking after dinner, something I need to stop immediately

@TrishasTime hey how are you, hope you are on track, nice to see your posts

@cbabie hey, saw your posts about fasting for 3 weeks, that does take will power and determination, kudos to you, love to read your posts and hear from you

Ok girls gotta run to the gym, Lower body workout day, see you all later

    Hello,
@trooworld thank you for the links, I still have to read the articles but I am sure they have good info. Oh and I don’t fast, I have a lot of family which fasts every Monday or Tuesday and they eat fruits and there are approved foods like sago or potatoes for eg, which is eaten during the day, people don’t starve themselves but the food eaten during fasts is extremely starchy and high on carbs. Fasting is difficult and here in India it’s done to please the gods rather than eating healthy and detoxing your system.

@theslightedgeforever waiting to hear from you, you do seem busy, hope all is good at your end

@TrishasTime nice to see you pop up, hope the paint fumes aren’t affecting you much

Have another gruelling upper body workout this morning not looking forward to it at all.
I am going to prep meals over the weekend, may be that way I can get back to my eating healthy habits

Ok then Have a good day and great weekend everyone

@krupalip I do better with my food than exercise so that’s good considering the percentages you gave me. It used to be the other way around. I was much thinner then. Well I guess that’s a big hint.

@trooworld I’m going to friends house on Friday to celebrate. But my daughter will be home in 4 weeks so I’m saving my family turkey dinner for her. Thanks for the articles.

    @TrishasTime Waving back at you.

Ok gotta go. Til next time

    Good morning ladies!!

@krupalip, hey girl! I'm glad to hear that your husband is doing better. I hear you about needing to stop the snacking after dinner. I keep telling myself that I'm not going to have anything after dinner and then I will find a rice cake or something else in my hand. :/

@trooworld, congrats on your weight loss!! Thanks for the links on mindful eating. That was the topic at WW meeting last week. It's something I definitely need to be more aware of. Sorry, your stomach was hurting? Was it something you ate, you think?

@theslightedgeforever, well that list you posted sure is an eye-opener isn't it? :o I should print it out and keep me it with me at the table this Sunday at the church's Thanksgiving! :D

@TrishasTime, Howdy!! How are you doing? <3

Where is our girl cbabie! o:)

The sun is shining here!! We have had rain for over a week, so it's nice to see blue skies again. Going to work in a few minutes and will be creating the church's monthly newsletter. NOT my favorite job!! This weekend I'm going to clean house and pack away my knick-knacks for next week's Christmas explosion. I'm trying to talk my husband into bringing in the tree and setting it up. I mean shouldn't we make sure the lights on it are still working? Men!!! :#:D

@trooworld Hooray for your weight loss. Just start walking and maybe it will be liking a snowball rolling downhill. It will get bigger and bigger.

@TeresaW1020 I was finishing up that book Funeral for my fat and in her Q&A section someone had asked about eating after 7 pm. She said calories can’t tell time so she eats something if she’s hungry and it fits into her calorie plan for the day. Obviously it should lean towards healthy snacks like nuts or f&v versus ice cream. The main thing I got out of her book was find an eating plan that fits you. Find an exercise plan that you enjoy.
That Thanksgiving list was interesting The Mac and cheese surprised me the most. Yay for sunny skies. Rain makes me depressed.

Time to go read some of those links Trooworld put up

Afternoon all< sorry my life has been weird and crazy. We were off on Monday at the office, and our staff meeting was pushed to Thursday, which meant all things I normally do on Tues/Wed had to all get done on Thursday. I mostly vegged yesterday. I really just need some down time. I am still in my pj's today. It feels like a cold is trying to attack my body and I am putting up the not here, not today, not ever sign...LOL I am still trying to find the right plan for me...I have noticed no sugar, tummy not bloated, it doesn't matter what I eat and when I eat if I don't eat sugary foods...I "feel" better..so you would think I would get it..but that sweet tooth..just is so LOUD and annoying..

@TrishasTime I had to laugh when Trooworld said hope the paint fumes aren't getting to you..I would say yes fume me...I need a mindless day. LOL Glad your office will be nice and "new" when the painting is done.

@trooworld DON'T send your rain here...LOL I always get you leftovers. I am so cold, rain would just make me colder and I would want to eat all the hot food possible.

@TeresaW1020 I am here...thank you for wondering...I like the idea of teaching what the pastor teaches..but I swear I would be planning the lesson on Sunday. LOL My DH is a pre-planner...He annoys me because he is way ahead..I don't believe or like waiting until the last minute, but balance...is needed. LOL

@krupalip I am getting ratio of 100:0...my exercise has got to improve.

Okay gals, I have to run..

    Hey everyone,
Monday morning blues hitting me for sure
@trooworld how are you doing, hope that sore throat clears up soon, remember the end goal for your fasting, I am sure you will be able to conquer this hurdle, keep busy, that will do the trick.
Your Christmas village sounds fun, please post pics

@theslightedgeforever want to get my hands on the book you’re reading, it has got such an apt name, I always have wanted to write a blog on my weight loss journey but can never find the time

@cbabie hang in there, I am sure the crazy in your life will be over soon and you will get back to your routine soon

@TrishasTime hey how are you, hope all is well

@TeresaW1020 hope you’ve got your after dinner snacking under control, right now, though I am working out at least 4 times a week, I am in a maintenance mode, and not in a weight-loss mode, which needs to change. Just need to get back to my no carb, caloric deficit diet. God knows when I can find it in me to do that

Anyways gotta run to the gym, cheers to all

    Love krupali

Hey everyone! I'm just popping on for a few minutes before I have to go make dinner.

@trooworld, LOVE your Christmas village! It's so pretty and fun. Love the blimp and all the little people. How long does it take to set it all up? Do you put up a tree too? I will have to share my pics this weekend after I get everything put up. I love decorating for Christmas!! <3 I heard rain is coming to California. I hope you get some!

@krupalip, you will get back to where you need to be. I have faith in you!! Hey, do you have big holidays at this time of the year as we do in the states? I love this time of year but it sure seems like it's just one big obstacle course of food. I know you talked about the Festival of Lights and I Googled images of it. How beautiful!! Nothing like a ton of lights all twinkling in the dark. :)

@cbabie, how are you feeling? I hear you about having a sweet tooth and the struggle it is to stop. I also feel much better when I don't eat too much sugar and most days, I have it under control and then there are other days. Ugghhh! :#

So last night was the church Thanksgiving dinner and I didn't do too bad! Of course, it's easier not to make a pig of yourself when a bunch of deacons are serving the food and one is my own husband! :D:D So, I only took small spoonfuls of things I really wanted and I even practiced eating slowly. The dessert table was loaded down but I only choose two of my favorites. Pecan pie and coconut cake. Both were too sweet. My weight was up a pound this morning and I'm guzzling water and eating light today. Weigh in tomorrow!! :/ OK, I've gotta go make some yummy baked chicken and roasted broccoli. I sure won't taste like pie! :p

@trooworld now I must have missed something. Did you start a new meal plan or you are having if colonoscopy. Lol. One of the two. I love your little village. How long did it take you to collect all that. How’s your throat?

@krupalip can you devote 15 min a day to writing your blog as a start. We think it takes so much time because we think of all the steps we have to do to have a “blog”. Break those steps down and spend 15 min a day doing one of them. First couple of steps. 1) choose name for your blog. 2) where are you going to set up this blog. Which site will you use?

@TeresaW1020 Good for you for taking small portions at the church Thanksgiving dinner no matter the reason.

I’m on a weight escalator going the wrong way. So I made out my new meal plan and exercise plan. I’ll roughly be following the Shred plan. This will be my 4th time. 🙄 But this time I will be tweaking it to substitute things I like to eat. While at the same time adding things I don’t usually eat but are good for me. Say a little prayer for me.

Morning all, I have been up since 2 am...I can't seem to sleep anymore. I have been reading all the post and it seems to me that we are each trying to find what works for us. We think we find it then, we start looking at something else. I think we are each learning from each other and that is great! The support on here is unique and I am happy to find it here. It could be that as our bodies change we need to keep tweaking what we are doing and not accepting what worked yesterday works today...

@trooworld I love the village, it looks like a lot of work! Now you just need the train track and train..LOL

@TeresaW1020 Your chicken and broccoli sounded good!! One day at a time on the sugar...that's how I am retraining my brain.

@krupalip Sorry for your Monday blues...but glad to see your consistent in the gym. I just had a friend who is a coach in shakelogy, trying to get me to sign up. She has been after me for years and now that I don't have any exercise equipment or a gym...she is still really pursuing it...keep up the good work.

@theslightedgeforever I had to look up the Shred plan and I laughed, the first thing that came up on Amazon was dog food...I was like oh she has gone to eating dog food...no prep, no plan, no counting...LOL I read up on it a little and yes I know the same routine and food is not good..but you know I am a creature of habit..LOL

@cbabie. I’m doing a modified Shred plan. Almost but not exactly how the book is written. I call it the Slightedge plan. The first three experiments with the plan didn’t work as written so why do I think the 4th would. So I substituted some foods I liked into the program. So here’s something to think about. You say you are a creature of habit. True we all are. But how are your current habits working for you? Are they getting you the life you want

@trooworld How was the colonoscopy? The prep is the hard part. Before I read about your colonoscopy I was thinking about them. lol. I have a friend who has a friend that is losing weight on the keto diet. Seems like all the rage. So I looked at it and said no not that’s not for me because I couldn’t do that forever. I don’t want to lose weight. I want to change my lifestyle. The side effect of that decision will be less weight. Well that’s my goal anyway. Lol. So back to the colonoscopy, she was saying why couldn’t I just try it. I agreed to one day a week. I thought I can drink only liquids for one day before I’m having a colonoscopy surely I can follow this plan for one day. So now I’m trying to see how to incorporate it into my current Slightedge Shred Plan.

My newest book I’m reading is You 2.0. It talks about reinventing yourself from where you are now. You know you don’t like where you currently are but can’t quite figure out how to get to where you want to be.

    Good morning!

@theslightedgeforever, I hope the new diet plan works for you! Please make sure to keep up updated. I'm always willing to tweak what I'm doing, which is pretty much maintaining at this point. :/ I like the topic of your new book. In January, I will begin a new ladies Bible study and we are going to read this book called "The me I want to be." It's sitting here on my desk but I haven't opened it yet. One of our ladies loved it and pushed for us to do it. I sure hope it gives me some new insights on how to get my act together and get this weight off.

@TrishasTime, sorry about your computer having issues! I do hope it gets resolved soon. :)

@cbabie, I agree that this is a great group and I also love the support and knowledge that we get from each other. :)

I gained .4 yesterday from my church Thanksgiving dinner. But last year I gained 2.8 after the dinner, so I'm calling that a win!! B) After weigh in I went to Walmart and did my grocery and a little Christmas shopping. It was while I was in the line with over half my order already bagged up that I realized that I had forgotten to put my wallet in my purse. I was so pissed!! :s I called my husband (who doesn't do anything in a hurry) to bring me my wallet so I could pay for our stuff. I did get in some good Walmart people watching while I stood there for 20 minutes. :D:o

I'm off to work and then I will have a lovely 4 day holiday! Stay tuned for Christmas decorating pictures. :D

@TeresaW1020 we should compare notes on our books. I’m sure the truth is somewhere in the middle. 😂. Although my favorite quote just came to mind. There is no truth only perception. That weight gain is progress. It’s all the little stuff we do that will make us be successful

@trooworld No I’m not doing the keto diet. I will do one day a week in support of my friend. It’s not sustainable for me as a lifestyle. My philosophy is lose the weight how you will maintain it. Yes. The straw is the key for the colonoscopy prep. I have to go back in 5. I had an aunt die of colon cancer.
