I agree with that meme.

I do also, but don't always practice what I preach. I use it as a calorie overage eraser sometimes. Time at the gym is also about staying in shape for long distance SUP paddling which I enjoy more. There is a touch of vanity in the mix also. I look good. I am about to turn 60 with visible abs. My doctor is going to be blown away at my next physical right after my birthday. I readily admit I like looking like this. That helps keep me motivated to control consumption and keep exercising.

I'm sort of in the same boat using exercise as a calorie overage eraser and not. It's circular thing. I hop on my treadmill throughout the day to deal with stress and anxiety. This is in addition to my serious focused exercising. All of that daily movement adds to my TDEE. So I get hungry. I eat more. I eat more, I have more excess energy and feel more anxiety. So I hop on the treadmill. Lather, rinse repeat.

It's very hard for me to find balance. I got to a point where I was regularly getting 37K steps a day. I've pulled back a little and I'm getting 30K a day now.

At least pie, anyway.
