I did a pistol squat on each leg for the first time They were pretty ugly but I got back up lol. It's funny they don't look like much, but they're hard!
Definitely inspiring! I still can't do them, working on it using a chair. I can back squat my bodyweight but pistol squats are a whole different thing!11 -

Before now I have been too self conscious to run outside (apart from running a few metres for a bus the odd time!), but since I was on holiday in a quiet area I thought I would give it a go. I found it harder than on the treadmill and my pace was too fast as my headphones died early on, but now I've done it once, the next time should be easier!
a great NSV good for you - I am still too chicken to try it9 -

That’s interesting! I can’t squat my bodyweight yet but I can do a (ugly) pistol squat6 -
Looking in the bathroom mirror this morning, I realized I can once again clearly see my clavicles!31

I’m not sure if it’s a NSV but I’ve never had so many women open or hold doors for me in my life 😆 It never happened when I was overweight and out of shape. Kind of a weird new concept for me since I’ve always done that for women.. Lol26

Snow storm didn't keep me from gym and workout39

I started circuit training at the gym!29

This morning, while out walking, my husband and I struck up a conversation with a stranger. At some point the two men were discussing how hard it is for them to manage their weight in later life when the stranger looks at me and says to my husband, 'well your wife is very slim'. (It was not said in the slightest pervy way and they were discussing their own weight issues). I have not been called slim for so many years - 28 at least! I was quite flustered! 😁 Hubby has lost 3 stone by the way and is well on his way to being slim too!41

Got completely snowed in, couldn't get to the gym so tobogganing and snowshoeing it was! Forgot what a workout that is, came in sweating!34

Two NSV for me this week:
1 - My iPhobe X facial recognition no longer recognizes my face (30 pound weight loss). I need to figure out how to get it to rescan.
2 - I was greeted with, “you look like you are melting away, how much weight have you lost?”45 -
Was able to set the assisted pull up machine to 15 lbs less, I’ve always had to set it on the highest weight it had, I don’t know if it’s from gained muscle or the 10 lbs lost but it’s a victory to me26

My BMI now classes me as overweight. When I started my weight loss journey I was morbidly obese.56

I bought rollerblades several years ago when I lived in Atlanta. Never used them. Tried them earlier this year and could not get far due to balance and muscle strength. Today I made it 30 minutes in the neighborhood and got a great workout. It wasn't pretty and at times, very unstable. But I did it and can't wait to do it again.36

I am now down from a size 24 to an 18
My wedding rings are too big for me
My BMI has dropped 4 more points44 -
I have two:
1) A friend asked if I have been losing weight. She is the first person to notice anything (or at least say anything.)
2) About 5 months ago, I switched gyms (that's also when I got serious about tracking again). Today I decided to go to zumba at my old gym. It's only 30 minutes long; when I left the gym, that 1/2 hour workout was really difficult for me and seemed to last forever. Today, it felt easy, and I definitely could have kept going. I've been pretty pumped about it all day!42 -
OH and.....I can now shop in regular stores instead of plus size stores! Now granted not every store will have stuff I like or that fits me....but most do now!35

When I started this journey back in May 2018, literally at that time none of 5 pair of jeans in two different sizes fit. Only way to get them zipped was the lay down on bed trick. Now that it finally is weather where it makes sense to wear them. Florida in the 60's, I have realized that I only have one pair that still pretty much fits. The other 4 I can put on and take off without using the zipper and or buttons, basically they are falling off. They are going in the donation box.31

1. People are starting to notice my weight loss! I've been asked a couple times this week if I've lost weight and that I look good
2. I can wear a size 6 jean now! I've never been this small of a size, (ive mostly worn size 10-12 since I was like 14 years old) so I could hardly believe it when they actually fit me.32 -
I've discovered I can engage in kinds of 'horseplay' that weren't available to me before. Yesterday I was goofily pushing my buddy around, and in response he picked me up and threw me on his back. For a moment I was terrified, thinking 'Oh no! He must be thinking to himself how heavy I am!' It later hit me that had he thought I seemed heavy by sight then he wouldn't have tried to pick me up in the first place—it just wouldn't have been on the menu of possible responses. This probably also means that if I did feel heavy to his arms he might just as easily have assumed it was because he wasn't strong enough than because I was 'too big'. Such a relief compared to those awkward moments when I've been able to see people's brains ticking over on how to politely work around my size in comparable situations.26

Needed something on the top shelf in the kitchen and was going to go get a chair then decided nah... Hoped up onto the counter to get it and it was easy! Could not have done that last year!30

Went to my wood-shop and put my tool belt on.
When I let go it fell down around my feet.
I had to tighten the belt several inches to get it to stay in place.
A few months ago I had to really tug on it to get it on with the belt as big as it will go.
I can wear my work jacket, snap it up, and still have room to put my hands in the pockets.

When i do the weight room, I do super sets to get my heart rate up and keep it up.
My heart rate used to get to 120 or higher.
Now it only gets to 99 at the most.
Now, it seems I can only get my heart rate above 120 doing a spinning class or sprint sets in the pool.23 -
I suppose I have a few NSVs worthy enough to share. For the first time since 2013, every single pair of shorts in my closet fit -- some are too big, sure, but that's to be expected as I have a variety of sizes -- but all of the shorts I'd purchased to go on a tropical vacation in 2013 at my lowest weight fit again. It felt amazing to try on every single pair of shorts and expect them not to fit... only to have them fit (or be too big).
On top of that, yesterday I hit a new low weight -- a record for me. It's more of a "preview" weight as yesterday was an anomaly (I had to rush off with a meager lunch and no coffee in the morning to meet a friend and then didn't get a late dinner), but the fact that I got there at all is an accomplishment for me. It means I've now surpassed what I achieved in 2013. 2018 is now my best year and will continue to be so.
I suppose I have a 3rd NSV... on my way home, I went to a store and tried on some pants (ironically, the pants I wore out yesterday were too big and kept sliding dangerously low). While still tight, I was able to get into a new lowest size as well. Even if I did not buy anything (didn't have quite what I was looking for), I left feeling accomplished.
I have not found my next dragonpants. I will know them when I see them, I think, but for now... knowing that I have slain the minions of the Normal Weight BMI Dragon... feels good enough! Within 5kg of a normal weight... no minion of the Dragon will best me!!25 -
I bought a sweater at a thrift store the other day. I'm freezing all the time and am in desperate need of sweaters that fit. I washed it and threw it in the dryer. Took it out and thought, OH DARN, IT SHRANK! Nope, that's just what my clothes look like now39

When I run on the treadmill, I always cover the time with a cloth so I don’t have to think about it. Usually when I have around 2-3 minutes left, I start glancing under the cloth to see how much time I have left and it’s a bit of a struggle at the end. Today when I went to look, I had passed my time by a minute and still felt awesome so I bumped the speed up by 1.2mph and ran an extra 3 minutes and still could have kept on going if I didn’t have to mind my time to get to work. Feeling so good!!42

I had my first cheat day yesterday. It has been 9 weeks since starting back on my new regimen (and successful weight loss). My cheat day was well over my daily caloric goal but I didn't mentally punish myself like I typically would. I enjoyed my day (I have a nephew who just got home after a 2-year Marine deployment, so lots of yummy home-cooked food). Long story short, I see the growth I've made, not overeating one day and letting it carry over into another day (or 5) and feeling defeated by my own choices. I can do this and sustain!31

2016 was an amazing year as I lost nearly 140 lbs. But this life is a marathon and not a sprint, and I crushed that sprint, but in 2017 I got married and in 2018 I’ve got a new job and now a baby in the way and life has happeneds and I’ve backslid about 40 lbs. so the good news is that after juuuust nearly 3 years since I started this new life I’m still over 100 lbs down from my starting weight, and more recently I’ve been back to logging my meals semi regularly, exercise several times per week and it’s paying off. I’m down about 10 lbs in the past 6 months and more importantly I’m starting to fit back into clothes that is not been wearing regularly for about a year, my jeans fit better, I’m over a notch on my belt. I really attribute it to regular weight lifting because 10 lbs isn’t much on a 250-270lb frame, but the changes to my body composition from the lifting has got my feeling really pleased. I also think that as I’m about to become a dad for the first time in early 2019 I’m feeling inspired for be fit for my daughter.43
