Cold weather is making me hungrier - I'm sure I have company in that, yes? I'm not craving junk, just more good stuff. I see a big bowl of vegetable soup in my future....
11/15 - 133 - 1303 - 10-day ave 1254
Freezing rain all morning, so I've been catching up on laundry and cleaning, moving some furniture and books around, and other stuff. And a friend's DH fell off a step stool while changing a light bulb and broke his back in 3 places - yikes! They're gluing it back together this afternoon, so her beautiful Springer Spaniel, Star, is hanging out at our house. She's lying I my lap as I write this.
11/16 - 131.6 - 973 - 10-day ave 1219
Whoa! That would have knocked my socks off if I'd had any on when I weighed in this morning! I did have a very low cal day yesterday, not really by planning, but I was satisfied and just decided to go with it. I can't believe I'm a pound and a half away from my "I'll probably never reach it but wouldn't it be great" goal. It will be 4 years in Feb. since I started this journey for real (after years of "trying" to lose weight and ending up heavier in the long run). Keep at it, folks!
11/17 - 131.2 - 1132 - 10-day ave 1203
I guess eating more last round primed the pump to lose again this round. Maybe I'll get through Thanksgiving with a loss. Have a great weekend, everyone.
11/18 - 130.6 - 992 - 10-day ave 1136
Wow. I can't believe I'm finally (almost) here. And in other news...we brought this guy home yesterday! He hasn't told us his name yet, but he's 3.5 months old and just lovely. (This was the only time he was still enough to get a picture!) >^..^<
11/19 - 130 - 1037 - 10-day ave 1096
WOOHOO! I did it! Four years ago today I was 88.2 pounds heavier than I am this morning. And it isn't just about the weight -- I'm healthier, more comfortable, better able to do the things I enjoy.... It's been a journey and an education, and that will continue as I strive to maintain. These challenges have been a big boost, too, over the past 15 months, so BIG thanks again to @GrandmaJackie and all of you. Now to slowly get my calories up to figure out my maintenance level. Oh, and my kitten has revealed that his name is Stirling (with an "i" after the city in Scotland where my mother was born). >^..^<
11/20 - 130.2 - 1110 - 10-day ave 1071
I had bread yesterday for the first time since I started the elimination diet 10 weeks ago - Dave's Killer Good Seed thin sliced. Yum!!! Now I'm trying to figure out just how to approach maintenance. I think the habits I've formed over the past 4 years will help me hold the line, but I also suspect that doing so is just as much a challenge as losing. Daily accountability will also help, so thanks, group!
11/21 - 131 - 1209 - 10-day ave 1056
I know I was short on water yesterday, so that plus the addition of bread to my diet = holding a little water. On the plus (or minus?) side, I bought a cozy pair of fleece-lined leggings in the jrs dept, size medium, and they're too baggy, so I exchanged them for small and they fit perfectly.
11/22 - 131 - 1390 - 10-day ave 1054
Happy Thanksgiving, all! I plan to eat what I want at dinner, but that's it, then back on track. Wishing you all much to be thankful for.
11/23 - 130.8 - 2060 - 10-day ave 1125
I expected to be up a bit due to sodium if not the plethora of extra calories. I won't be surprised if I do go up a bit the next couple of day, but I'm back on track after yesterday's splurge, so it's all good. Onward!

@tinkerbellang83 Thanks, I needed that. I normally don't let it bother me so much, so I don't know what happened this round. I suppose the prospect of trying to be positive about what is (for me) a fairly large fluctuation. It's the highest one I've had and previously I've managed to shift the excess in a couple of days or so. I guess looking at a number that is one higher than the one that I thought I had left behind was frustrating.4

My name is Jen. I’ve been sitting at the low 200s for a while now trying everything to get my weight to budge. A great MFP friend suggested this group and so far it’s helping! The weight is still moving at a snails pace but at least it’s moving!

11/14 - Wednesday - 177.6 - I still find myself typing 19X when going to record my weight. My brain cannot fathom that I'm in the 170's! I had a crackpot goal to be 175 before thanksgiving but that seems pretty extreme given its a week away and the end of this round is a day after thanksgiving - yikes! Okay, considering that I think I'll actually aim to maintain this round. Finding a balance between enjoying my favorite holiday guilt free and not binging for the entire weekend. Fortunately, we are going out this year, so I wont be totally tempted by all the leftovers - but we will probably cook a bird and make some soup over the weekend. I'm committing NOW to next round as to not let myself slip into holiday regression. Last night I overindulged a bit so scale may be up a bit tomorrow. Desperately need to go to the grocery store and stock up on healthy options again. Been basically cleaning out the cupboards for the past week!
11/15 - Thursday - 176.8 - Been visualizing that 176! Solid morning, fish oil, smoothie, packed lunches, snacks, and got dinner on deck with a chicken teriyaki salad! Weather has me feeling especially dry and dehydrated so I'll focus on water today. Probably working from home tomorrow so I planned to make extra dinner to have for lunches tomorrow so we're not tempted to order out or snack our way thru the day at home. Went grocery shopping and have a good plan to get us thru the weekend fed with yummy, home cooked, whole foods. Been craving Zuppa Toscana so making a copy cat!
11/16 - Friday - 176.8 - ive been consistent and my numbers have been more consistent! Got hit with the munchies last night but got by with half a pb&j toast. Working from home today. Went out and did a little snow removal and made homemade pancakes. Leftovers for lunch and zuppa for dinner! Its a winter wonderland and we will probably be going snowboarding tomorrow or Sunday!!!!
11/17 Saturday - 178 - well I did well all day then mindlessly snacked after an early dinner. Dissapointed, but working from home proved to be tricky for me so I'll be mindful of that in the future. Back at it today!
11/18 - Sunday - 179.4 - enjoyed the day for friendsgiving yesterday without guilt. Which was hard after wanting to "make up" for the day before...but growing through it regardless. Not surprised by the uptick...water today, leftovers, and snowboarding tonight! The activity should make eating today a little more flexible anyway.
11/19 - Monday - 180.2 - TOM arrived late last night. Feeling super bloated and generally uncomfortable! But its a blessing really - my periods are continuing to regulate and I might have even ovulated this month! Sorry for TMI! So anyway I'm actually happy this morning - things are moving in the direction of my dreams, I paid all the bills, I stuck with my habits this morning and packed lunches and dinner is already prepared! I need toilet paper and a few things at the store but need to make a solid plan before I step foot inside a preholiday supermarket! Got to the mountain last night and felt SO good on my board!
11/20 - Tuesday - 180.2 - A doozy of an evening pain wise. I ate an extra chocolate bar, and mistakenly allowed trail mix with chocolate into my shopping cart yesterday and ate some of that too. Magnesium supplement to the rescue and I passed out pretty early on the couch. Snowy weather so working from home today. Going to make my smoothie now, ham and cheese wrap for lunch and pasta to quiet the raging cravings tonight, but planning on proper portions and prelogging to help me be reasonable. Last time I worked from home I didnt eat enough protein and got wicked snacky after dinner so maybe also a tuna snack like I would usually have at work. Water is always harder at home...I'll try using my thermos with a straw and see if that helps. Found out Friday is a paid holiday for us too so YAY! Meal planned for the whole week, less whole foods more treats - planning on it rather than binging on it is key for me though. I can enjoy it without regretting it that way. Excited to enjoy a balance this holiday - this seasons theme has been about growth in so many ways and I'm so grateful to this challenge for being a huge part of it!
11/21 - Wednesday - 178.8 - A decent night last night - ate mostly proper portion and got to bed early. But oh my lanta is the devil whispering in my ear this morning! I woke up in a mood - DH hurt his finger opening the trunk so there was yelling too! Fun! I tried so hard to shake it on the commute to work. Got donuts for the work crew, and even all the usually super nice coffee ladies were throwing daggers at each other with there eyes - arent the holidays fun?! Anyway, I already ate one of those donuts. But I've got the rest of the day planned. Need to drink lots of water today so I don't eat three more donuts I'm very much an empath and this time of year does indeed wear me out very quickly so I'm being mindful of protecting my energy - today has felt really heavy so far - so setting my intentions for positive vibes despite the rocky start! Hope everyone has a restorative, peaceful, family filled holiday tomorrow!
11/22 - Thursday - 177.2 - End TOM whoosh! And I stuck to the plan yesterday so that always helps. Feeling positive this morning and excited for enjoying the day guilt free and logging free. Not stressing what tomorrow brings because I already have my plan to keep things reasonable for the rest of this mini vacation and not go totally off the rails. Have a great day everyone!!!
11/23 - Friday - 177.6 - Awesome day, and I enjoyed every second. Met my goal to maintain this round and that feels like a huge success today!!! My plan for the next few days definitely has some indulgences still but I'm working them in rather than over restricting cause life is for living!

11/5 - Didn’t weigh;I had too many beers before and after dinner last night, while cleaning our house up to sell.
11/16 - 177-No time to exercise; we have been boxing up stuff, painting and cleaning to put our house up for sale. Luckily they sell those pre made bagged salads, so I grab cooked meat from the freezer and add it to the bagged salad for instant dinner. At least we’re eating somewhat healthy.
11/17 - 177-Still, but that’s OK. Our house is finally for sale, and things will get back to normal....after I paint the bathroom.😳
11/18 - 177 Again, but it’s OK. I painted the dang bathroom yesterday and it looks great. Had some salty food when our boys visited yesterday. Today is the Thanksgiving dinner at our church. Hopefully I won’t go overboard; I don’t have a good “off switch”.
11/19 - 176 Finally. I was careful eating yesterday.
11/20 - No scale
11/21 - 175 Finally. I have been eating so good and tonight I go to my dad’s house for a heavy dinner & drinks and tomorrow is Thanksgiving......go figure! Any way, I got to my goal weight and know I can do it.

11/15 - 188.6
11/16 - 189
11/17 - 188.9
11/18 - 188.8
11/19 - 188.8 I was on vacation last week and while I did weigh in everyday I did not update round #58 numbers or comment on this round until now. I didn't do anything interesting on vacation because my bf burnt his hand so badly the night before we were leaving that he had to go to the emergency room and there was NO way we could fly. He was miserable. He's much better now and we spent a lot of time together but it wasn't a "vacation" like I really needed. I'm still worried about him as he has a compromised immune system right now and any infection can be very serious. The only good thing was that I walked every day. I got a couple of 4 milers in and one short two mile walk where both miles were under 17 minutes. I wasn't great on food, niece's first birthday last weekend and her dad's birthday this weekend. As if all that wasn't enough to kill my weight loss chances, its TOM so I doubt I will lose even a half a pound this round.
11/20 - 188.8 I'm happy enough with that considering I was stressed most of the day and had no exercise yesterday (other than jumping up and screaming during Monday night football GO CHIEFS!) Going to the gym tonight for weights. I'm trying to get 3 walks in between now and Sunday. Not easy with the holiday. I'll be busy on Thursday with T-day, decorating the house on Friday, another T-day on Saturday. I'm just sick of 18X I feel like I've been hovering for over a month where I can't get below 188. Now pile two thanksgiving and stupid TOM and there is no hope of seeing say 186 for at least another week if not two. It's a journey, it's a journey, it's a journey.
11/21 - 188.3 Going down is always a good thing. Went to the gym last night, had a great work out. Plan on a long walk this afternoon. Maybe I should just make 4 miles my new normal and stop calling it a long walk? Now I'm rambling. Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow to all!!! I am thankful for MFP and this challenge!!!
11/22 - 188.4 Well that sucks. Under calorie goal and a fantastic almost perfect 4 mile walk on a very rough trail. That's one of the best walks I've had in a long time. I only saw one other person but TWO 8 point bucks running together. We have seen deer on the trail many times but this was cooler and potentially dangerous. My dog was about 15 feet in front of me freezes, looks into the woods and then comes back to me. I turned around and about 20 feet away was a buck staring right at us. It's rutting season so young bucks can be aggressive. About 40 feet east of him was another one that looked just like him. He took off and they kept pace with us for about 5 minutes. My dog is a cardigan welsh corgi, bred for herding cattle. After they took off he thought he should try to keep up. It was hilarious after they started running away.
11/23 - 188.1 I'm down the day after Thanksgiving, I shouldn't be mad and yet I am mad. I stayed within calorie goal yesterday. I did not make my goal for this round and in fact only lost .04 pounds, but I guess with TOM and Turkey day I knew it wasn't going to be a big drop. Today I'm supposed to walk but it's rainy so I guess I'll head to the gym later. At least I have the day off!!!11 -

My 20th Round! I can guarantee that I would not have lost these last 28 pounds without this challenge. These next 10 days are going to include a birthday party and Thanksgiving with out of town relatives staying at my house, so I’m sure my ending weight will reflect that. However, this year I’m going to be prepared and enjoy this time with family, knowing I’ll be able to minimize the damage with the help of this challenge in the coming weeks.

11/14 - 145.5 - Here's what I was hoping for yesterday. Hopefully, it will stick this time.
11/15 - 144.5 - I'm glad to see a downward trend before all the celebrating this weekend and next week. NSV - I'm wearing a pair of dress pants today that my husband bought me when we were dating in 2000. I grew out of them fairly quickly back then, but I loved them, so I kept them in the back of my closet. Funny thing is, they're a size 12. Most 12's fall off me now so I measured the waist size and it's 31.5 inches. It's crazy how how much sizing has changed in women's clothes.
11/16 - 144.5 - I'm so happy this stuck before the birthday party I'm throwing tomorrow.
11/17 - 144.5
11/18 - 144 - I didn't get a chance to post yesterday with all the birthday celebration preparation. I watched what I ate earlier in the day and then the party started. I had several drinks along with small portions of pizza, chicken, and cake. I suspect that the only reason my weight is down today is because I'm dehydrated. I expect my weight to be up tomorrow, but I'll be back on plan again until Thanksgiving.
11/19 - 144.5 - If this is the only fallout from the birthday party, I'll take it.
11/20 - 144.5 - I'm happy to hold steady here until Thanksgiving.
11/21 - 145.5 - Evidently, it took a few days for last weekend to show up. I'm working a half day today then going home to prepare for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Our out of town family will be staying with us through Saturday so we can watch the Ohio State/Michigan game together. I'm planning to enjoy all the food over the next few days, but curtail the mindless snacking I tend to do when the appetizer trays sit out most of the day.
11/22 - 143.5 -No chance to post but I weighed in.
11/23 - 144 - I did not see this coming. Oftentimes my weight loss makes no sense, but I'll take it! I ate and drank a little bit of everything and I'll be having leftovers today and a football watching party tomorrow. I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving!8 -

11/16—147.4
11/17—out of town, no weigh in
11/18—147.6 after two days at my parents’ house, I’m pleased to be still at a maintenance level. Now to try to lose a bit before tomorrow’s weigh in for the week.
11/19–146.8 Final countdown before Thanksgiving. Good luck, everyone!
11/20—149.2 Well, Panda Express! All that salt! Here’s to drinking LOTS of water today, and tomorrow, and…
11/21—no weigh in—traveling
11/22—150.6 Happy Thanksgiving! I just crossed that line that I will NOT stay above, so after today (which will not help the matter), I’ll have some work to do. But, family and friends and experiences are important too, so I’m not going to stress about it. Enjoy the day, everyone! Happy Thanksgiving. Count your many blessings! Even in hard situations, (and I’m speaking from a tough spot in life experience here today), there are many things to be thankful for.
11/23—149.4 Whew, down below 150 again, but still too close for comfort. Have lots of walking and bike riding planned today and am already working on drinking lots of water today. Planning on getting this back down further over the next round.10 -

11/14 147.5 woohoo think I'm finally getting away from the Halloween candy binge . Good luck this round everyone!
11/15 147.5 Got into the cereal yesterday and had taco bake for dinner so my carbs were a little more than I would have liked, and no exercise. I plan to get a good workout in today .
11/16 147.5 Forgot to post
11/17 147.5 Yesterday was an ok day, stayed under but I did splurge on a chocolate frosty and fries from Wendy's. Still under on all my macros. Today's focus is going to be eating light and lots of water because I am feeling really thirsty.
11/18 147 not sure if this number will stay for tomorrow but I like it . Our first Thanksgiving dinner of the season is today.
11/19 147 What?? Was totally surprised to see this today. When I first stepped on the scale it said 146 and I weighed like 3 more times. I ate so much yesterday. I had 1 plate of food (full plate) and 2 desserts. I felt so full but I think it was mainly because I ate foods I have been avoiding for a while like macaroni and cheese. Wednesday will be the next Thanksgiving meal and then of course Thursday. A little nervous of the outcome.
11/20 147 Drank lots of water yesterday, felt like I was relieving water all day. Plan to drink plenty today also and eat light to prepare for the next couple of days of Thanksgiving goodies.
11/21 146.5 Been a super busy day today that I'm just now getting around to posting this. This number will probably go up after today.
11/22 147.5 busy day and didn't get around to posting.
11/23 147.5 Well left off where I started this round which is ok because I sure ate a lot more than normal because of the holiday! I am feeling very dehydrated as I didn't drink nearly enough water. I'll make sure to drink extra today. Thinking about possibly having a day or 2 of fasting next round. Maybe. We will see. See you all at round 60!9 -

11/14 - 179 - Late evening pretzel eating again. It's over, bag's empty, lol.
11/15 - 177.4 - Infused water😏 Lately I've been using cilantro instead of parsley. Can't find a decent bunch of parsley anywhere. I do really like the spiciness of the cilantro in the water.
11/16 - 176.8 -
11/17 - 177.4 - Smh
11/18 - 176.6 - Woot! Happy to see this number again today. I looked back through the rounds, and noticed that I average 65 days per decade of weight. Hopeful for Round 60/61 to be in the 160's!
11/19 - 177 - Okay. Spent the day at my DS and DIL's house, visiting Grandchildren. That is ALWAYS a high carb day. I normally take my own food so I'll have something to eat, but I didn't yesterday. I did roast a chicken for the children and made a couple of dips the adults could eat during the football game. My DH picked up fried chicken wings and fried fish at a carryout. I wasn't in the mood for any of it. I bought some chicken nuggets and fries at Wendys, didn't want that either, lol. It was cold and tasteless when I ate it.😕 Ate a little of the dip with a few flatbread crackers. Also ate salad. Came home and ate peanut butter. Strange day of eating for me, but I got to love up on my littles 😀 which always makes the day special.
11/20 - 177.2 - Mmmm, not amused 😑
11/21 - 176.6 - Back here again for the umpteenth time.😄 The struggle of late, that I'm noticing, is not wanting to eat what I cook or just not being hungry. Although, yesterday I felt hungry and wanted something crunchy, so I ate more of the flatbread crackers with the cheese dips. That turned into a meal, lol.
11/22 - 176.2 - Enjoy your family time today everyone!
11/23 - 177.2 - I already knew 177 would return after eating bread and 2 jumbo oatmeal cranberry raisin cookies yesterday. They were good 😋 Round 57, 58 & 59 were starchy carb 10 day battles. At least I end this round with a 1.2 lb loss.

11/16 IDK When I stepped on the scale I got 172 which seemed too good to be true. So i tried again and got 175.2 which doesn't make sense either as I was within calories and macros yesterday. So I will wait and see what tomorrow brings.
11/17 174
11/18 175.4 feeling down yesterday - ended up in a bit if a carb frenzy. Will do better today.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

11/20 161.0 I’m back! There’s no place like home! I only lost .4 lb in my 11 days of travel, but I could have easily gained. The boring hotel breakfasts of eggs, sausage, and, sometimes, bacon, begged for a cup of yogurt, a piece of fruit, or a pastry, but I remained strong. Three great New England seafood meals with veggies fit well into my keto WOE, but I couldn't resist a cup of seafood chowder at the No Name in Boston. I confess to eating the roll containing my lobster roll in Portland, ME, and I ate a few cookies provided by sweet church ladies. My secret prayer partner obviously knows my weakness for coconut and gave me a package of mini Almond Joys. I ate two or three, gave some away, and brought the remainder home to my husband. We did a lot of walking through museums and churches in D.C. and Boston, the Freedom Trail in Boston, Mount Vernon, the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt homes, etc. We sang and shared our message of "Sharing Jesus With Urgency" a total of 11 times as we traveled in Virginia, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. We survived Winter Storm Avery and had a couple of snowball fights. In places, the snow covered fall foliage was a beautiful sight. I'm third from the right in the pic, before snow, with the Vietnam Memorial behind us.
11/21 160.4 Thor was happy to get our walk in yesterday. While I was away, I don’t know if he missed me or the walks more. Now, I’m trying to stay calm as I make Thanksgiving meal preparations. My sister will bring the ham and some high-carb sides. I must bake a Pumpkin Cake (favorite of my husband and sister). I’ll pick up two pies I ordered from our local chef. I will cook the turkey and dressing, along with a couple of low-carb vegetable casseroles—twice-baked cauliflower and a spinach/broccoli casserole. I’ve already decided what I will and will not eat tomorrow. A sliver of pecan pie is on my “to eat” list.
11/22 160.0 Twenty pounds to go. I’m anxious to be in the 150’s, but I don’t expect to see it tomorrow. I will eat well today, with the exception of a sliver of pecan pie. That alone will probably keep me above 160 lb. The turkey and dressing are cooking, and I still have two casseroles to put together. I woke up with a sore throat, but I hope to get through the day before it gets worse. My roommate on the trip had a nasty cold. If I have to have a cold, I’m glad mine has waited this long to manifest itself. Give thanks with a grateful heart on this Thanksgiving Day and every day!
11/23 160.2 Tiny setback, but I ended up eating things not on my keto WOE--3 slivers of a wonderful pecan pie, half a roll, and two glasses of my son’s homemade eggnog—his best ever. My son and sister took home leftovers, but I still have enough to feed us for a week, and more pie and pumpkin cake than my husband can eat by himself. I may help him with the pecan pie, but he’ll have to finish the pumpkin pie and cake on his own. I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was as good as mine.

I derailed myself last year undoing a lot of good work. After a long absence from myfitnesspal I am back on track. This 10 day challenge seems like something I can do. I joined with Round 57. This is my 3rd consecutive round. The less said about round 58 the better.
Age: 59
Sex: M
Height: 5ft 10 1/2"
HW: 313 lbs (reached twice, sad to say)
Pre-challenge SW: 313 lbs (started back at myfitnesspal Oct 1st. Down 15 lbs in the 3 weeks prior to round 57)
SW for the round 57 challenge: 298 lbs (I have a photo to prove it, I'll take a new one at the start of every week)
GW sometime in 2020: 195 lbs (several beautiful Italian double-breasted suits await me)
Round 59
SW for this round: 297 lbs (annoyingly up 2 lbs over the last challenge)
GW for this round: 293 lbs (drop 4 lbs)
Day 01. 11/14 297 lbs
Day 02. 11/15 296.5 lbs. I'll take every small win after the last round.
Day 03. 11/16 296.5 lbs. We had dinner out last night after taking family Xmas photos. I knew as I ate the delicious Teriyaki chicken and noodles that there was too much salt for me and too many carbs. I would have been helped by eating a couple of Turkey rollups before we left the house. Or having a high-protein shake (i.e. Premier which provides 30g of protein). Then I might have sensibly passed on the noodles and picked a more appropriate (for me) main dish.
Day 04. 11/17 296 lbs. Moving slowly in the right direction.
Day 05. 11/18 295.5 lbs. Still moving they way I want it to go.
Day 06. 11/19 295 lbs. Good. I'll take 1/2 lb a day as long as I can get it.
Day 07. 11/20 294.5 lbs. Very nice! I might make my 'lose 4 lbs' this challenge goal.
Day 08. 11/21 294 lbs. Another 1/2 lb. Very good!
Day 09. 11/22 293 lbs. Vigilance where starchy carbs and sugar are concerned, and a little bit of exercise, before Thanksgiving paying off. This gets me to my goal of 'lose 4 lbs' for this challenge. I shall be ultra-careful at my youngest brother's house today as the family assembles for Thanksgiving. I'd like to at least still be at that goal when I weigh in the day after Thanksgiving. A tall order but I am motivated.
Day 10. 11/23 293 lbs. The day after Thanksgiving, which normally would be a trainwreck since I'd have eaten and drunk everything in sight. But today I find -- having exercised a great deal of restraint WRT what I put on my plate and into my glass -- I have maintained my target weight for this round. And it's not like I deprived myself of tastes of (many of) the goodies. I did avoid the siren-song of the massive amounts of desserts on display, settling for a wafer-thin slice of gingerbread cake and small snifter of excellent bourbon that I periodically smelled, but never drank. I also had 1 oz of red wine with lunch, but it was a superb Chateauneuf-du-Pape and my brothers would not take no for an answer.
Down 4 lb so far this 10 day challenge. Which means I made my goal for this challenge.
Down 5 lbs so far on challenges (I plan on doing more of them).
Down 20 lbs total since I came back to myfitnesspal.
98 lbs to go to where I want to be: 195 lbs, the weight at which I got married
I will see you all in the next 10 day challenge.9 -
@sue_01 Fantastic news! I am very relieved for you. Prayers answered.
@MadisonMolly2017 Congratulations on your weight accomplishments! You have been absolutely killing it!
You inspire me for sure.
@tiabirdie56 Yes, we will leave the 170's in the dust, at some point. They will become a distant memory just like the 190's and the 200's have become. The holidays are creating a stall, but we are at the helm and will get through this decade! Together we can move mountains!

11/20 - 178.6
11/21 - 174.6
11/22 - 176.0 What??????? I did everything so right yesterday! 1271 calories in, 2364 calories out. 10,262 steps. 4.34 miles. 3 floors. 13/13 step hours. 6 hours 48 minutes of sleep which only occurs about once per month with me, (usally 3.5 to 4.5 hours per night) so sleep was the only change. 9 glasses of water. Healthy low carb foods. Wow was I disappointed! However, with the huge whoosh yesterday I will not complain. I usually only retain water after a large or carby meal and I didn’t have one so I’m just a little confused, but I will chalk it up as my body doing corrections and recalibrating.
Today I will likely go to dinner with a friend. Our family Thanksgiving dinner will be on Sunday. But I still feel like I want to do something “special today”. That will likely mean two Thanksgiving dinners now but I will bounce back because, like all of us here on “just give me 10 days”, I am more than capable. I am mighty, unstoppable and cannot be defeated! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
11/23 - 178.6 Well, there it is. The exact 4 lb whoosh I lost came back yesterday and today. Thanksgiving dinner out of town at a restaurant last night. My family dinner will be Sunday. Way too many carbs & calories. I have a sliver in my foot now so it hurts to walk, so no important movement. I spent the night trying to dig it out. Because I am diabetic I am using lots of alcohol and hoping for the best. Good job to everyone on their accomplishments this round. If you need me, I’ll be on the bed sipping parsley water and digging at my foot! See you next round.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

11/14 132.0 (Art Quilts, etc potluck) I need to drink LOTS of water!
11/15 131.5 (Community Thanksgiving potluck)
11/16 131.5. I survived potluck #2. Dinner and play this evening
11/17 131.5 What a beautiful evening it was! The sunset featured rainbows in the clouds. Salad, steak, and fresh green beans with garlic at Ellis Island Casino before going to see “The Andrews Brothers” at the Super Summer Studio. I need to drink more water!!
11/18 131.5 Still not drinking enough water. Didn’t go to bed until 2AM this morning and up before 6. Today is Carl’s 70th birthday. He does not like to celebrate but DD#2 and family are taking us to “lun-ner.” I think I’m going back to bed now. *Slept another hour and a half!*
11/19 131.0. WOW! Didn’t wake up until just after 8AM! BBQ for Carl’s birthday yesterday. I was stuffed but wanted to eat more because it tasted so good. I didn’t but I wanted to! DD #2 came over this morning and gave us both haircuts. She does such an amazing job! I’m late posting and haven’t read beyond page 14. Lots of catching up to do in the morning.
11/20 131.0 Busy day yesterday! Haircuts, some groceries, pick up neighbors at the airport and gym with Amy! Today I have to go to Sam’s Club to get the rest of the ingredients I need for Thanksgiving and Saturday Sew Day. Low on water again.
11/21 130.5 Busy day today getting ready for tomorrow at DD#2’s house.
11/22 131.0 Happy Thanksgiving! I have spent most of the last 4 hours in the kitchen and when I sat down a few minutes ago my Garmin chirped that I hadn’t moved enough in the last 2 hours! Such is life.
11/23 131.5 What a wonderful day of just hanging out with family. Most of the Keto friendly dishes were enjoyed by all. Some people won’t eat cauliflower no matter what you add to it! The only non-Keto thing I TASTED was about 1/2 teaspoon of French silk pie filling. Down from my Round 59 SW but up slightly on AW.11 -
@deepwoodslady Donna, take care of that foot! The sliver may be out and you’re just sore from digging.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

20th Round for me: Female 65, height – 5’
Last round I spent wobbling between 160’s and high 161’s. I haven’t gone way overboard but my occasional “treat” seems to have become an everyday or even twice a day thing which would be ok for maintenance but is sabotaging any loss. So my goal this round is to dial that back and absolutely no LNS even if it is low calorie. I never skip meals and rarely have them at odd hours so there really is no excuse.Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, loss -.2Round 59 – SW 161.2, Goal for this round (again) under 160.
Round 40 – on holidays, gain +1.6

Round 45 – SW 160.8, gain +1
Round 46 – SW 161.8, gain +.6
Round 47 – SW 162.4, loss -2.2
Round 48 – SW 160.2, missed most of this round and Round 49 as I was away without computer or scale.
Round 50 – SW 160.2, loss -.8
Round 51 – SW 160.8, loss -1
Round 52 – on holidays, no scale
Round 53 – SW 159.8, loss -1.4
Round 54 – SW 158.4, gain +.6
Round 55 – SW 159.4, +2.4
Round 56 – SW 161.9, -.3
Round 57 – SW 161.6, No change
Round 58 – SW 161.6, -.4
Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June. This is less than 1 lb. per round but as I realize that may not be possible as I get lower (1 lb per round would put me at 131).
Day/Weight/Comment
11/14 – 161.2 – Still here. Resisted ice cream last night but 3 corn thins before bed. Why did I need that? I had a good supper with lots of protein. The excuse in my head is always that “I can’t sleep well if I’m hungry.” The truth is that it is a lifetime habit - that I can break. Of course my stomach is hungry at night if I feed it almost every night!
11/15 - 160.2
11/16 - 161.4 – Totally my own fault – caved to ice cream. Today will work on arming myself with a plan this morning to resist temptation this evening. Also is a gym day which should help.
11/17 – 161.2 Good day at the gym yesterday. I’ve started doing more upper body exercise instead of just focusing on a little cardio (recumbent bike & elliptical) and abs. I usually use a CPAP machine for breathing at night although I know that I just barely need it. The ear, nose, throat specialist told me that I would be able to get rid of it if I lost weight. Now suddenly, my breathing is much better. Normally without the CPAP I have a more restless night and wake up with a dull headache. I haven’t lost all that much weight so I’m wondering if it is the upper body workout making the difference.
11/18 - 161.6 Really good day yesterday calorie wise, rather sedentary but I think this is just the lag from a few days ago. So, hanging in there for a drop tomorrow or the next day.
11/19 – 161.6 Careful caloriewise and no LNS yesterday. Off to the gym today.
11/20 – 161.2 Off to teach this am. Having successfully kept my eating in line this week, I am determined to not reward myself with food. What an awful habit. There are many other rewards that would actually make me feel good afterwards.
11/21 – 160.8
11/22 – 161.4 – Shopping in the city yesterday; careful at noon but some high calorie snacking on the way home and in the evening. Just glad the blip up was not worse. Now have to remember the doughnut picture and rein it in rather than make it worse. Upside is that I’ve been planning that trip for a couple of months and now it’s done and I’m stocked up on bulk foods for the winter. Happy Thanksgiving – I’m not American but thankful is always good!
11/23 – 161.6 – I’m thinking this is still shopping calories, which leaves me pretty much where I started but should get back to 160’s or lower next round.10 -
@shunggie - Thanksgiving day loss of any sort is good in my book!

This is my sixth round. I am starting not to freak out as much over the daily fluctuations. Went up a little bit at the end of last round, so 2.5 isn't too unreasonable. On the other hand, I've been pushing a 1000 calorie deficit for 2.5 weeks now and I think I'm going to have a slightly smaller deficit this round.

11/14 166.5 -- Phew. I was super hungry and craving sweets and honestly everything yesterday. Kept trying to have a healthy filling something and it was all subtraction stew. Jogged in place at 10 pm to finish my steps and cover my extra snacking, so still had a big deficit. Glad to see that my indulgence in a scone did not move the scale the wrong way!!
11/15 166 -- Nice to see. Interesting observation: I am doing a monthly support group with a weekly weigh in. In that group I had a 3 lb loss last week, despite only a 1 lb loss in Round 57. Then this week, having finished round 58 with a 3 pound loss, I posted a .5 pound gain. Puts things in perspective about daily fluctuations! On another note NSV--three people at the gym yesterday independently commented on how good I looked and the weight I had lost. I've lost 33 lbs since June. I don't think the first 20 were so noticeable, but now there is a difference!
11/16 165.5 -- Hungry again yesterday. Somehow the low carb hamburger casserole that I made tasted good but felt more like subtraction stew. Don't think I will make that again! Combatted the hunger by going to zumba! So I guess that was a win!
11/17 164.5 -- What a nice surprise! Hopefully it's not just that I didn't drink enough water yesterday. Forgot to drink during the day, so guzzled before bed! Had a lovely breakfast with my husband and youngest this morning. Bacon & spinach & cheese omelet. After being hungry for 3 days, I was full after half the omelet and two slices of bacon, so I saved the rest for later. Have a great weekend everyone!
11/18 163.5 -- Whoosh! Clearly I should take a rest day and sit around more often!
11/19 166 -- Celebrated my husbands birthday. So I stood around all afternoon making cake, instead of exercising. And then I ate the cake. Only half a piece....only 200 over calories (which is still less than maintenance) but clearly carby. Hopefully it goes away as quickly as it came!
11/20 165.5 -- Probably shouldn't eat the cake, even when I have calories to spare if I want this number to go down faster. Exercised a bunch yesterday.
11/21 164.5 -- That's better. (Actually, the scale showed 164 twice, this number twice...fingers crossed!) Now to keep that or go a little lower for tomorrow...and then pie. Clearly not a great plan!
11/22 164 -- Baked all afternoon....licked the bowl, but otherwise ate ok. Now to fill up on vegetables, turkey and green beans today! Don't get me wrong....I'll eat the other stuff too, just only a little! Happy Thanksgiving to all my buddies!!
11/23 164 -- Woohoo! No gain from yesterday. Just snacked on veggies and a bit of dip. Ate big portion of turkey and green beans and small of every thing else...except I stole extra corn bread stuffing from my neighbor's plate. Ended up stuffed. Ate just a sliver of pie...and then a little apple crisp...and a few more snitches. One glass of wine. Great day with family and friends!

Even though I didn't post I regularly came to this board to read about everyone's success. My goal for the past 10 days was just trying to eat enough food so that I could function throughout the day, but at the same time not eat anything to upset my gut. I've been more conscious of what foods I've been eating and how they affect me and it's gotten better over the last couple of days, but there is definitely room for improvement. I have an appointment with a nutritionist on Tuesday to go over the results of my food allergy test and put a plan together. Now that my stomach seems to be doing better, I plan on joining back in the next round.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/14 - 185.2 - not how I wanted to start the round. But, I think this may be due to DOMS and high sodium dinner (ordered in). This will come down tomorrow after lots of water!
11/15 - 183.4 - ah - back down again.
11/16 - 183.6
11/17 - 185 - disappointed
11/18 - 185 - steady after having friends over with ribs, Mac and cheese and wine
11/19 0 183.4 - phew! I’ll admit I was getting a bit discouraged going into Thanksgiving week at 185 - this is better - if I can just drop a bit more before Thursday - I’ll be happy. Off to the gym!
