Gym routine?

Hi,
I haven't been to the gym for a long time! I'm hoping to go back tomorrow but honestly I don't know where to begin.
At the moment I am very unfit, and I am unsure on what to do. I don't want to bounce back and forth on equipment aimlessly, I need a plan. Has anyone got a good beginner work out plan that I could incorporate or just any tips in general, thanks!

Pick a routine, add some cardio that you enjoy.2 -
I started 3 months ago. If your gym has classes and they fit your schedule I would give them a shot.
My gym does 5:15am classes and they are a good mix of cardio and strength so I just set my alarm and go every morning. It works well for me and I have really been motivated to push myself to keep up with the rest of the class.0 -
I would recommend the book "Lift Like a Girl" by Nia Shanks. It is available on Amazon, and if you have a Kindle unlimited account, it is included. I really like her simple plan. Just 3 exercises per workout, your goal is to improve (either more reps or heavier weight) for each workout. Good luck!https://www.amazon.com/Lift-Like-Girl-More-Less-ebook/dp/B078C8QB6N/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1543172937&sr=8-1&keywords=lift+like+a+girl+book1

Thank you for this but this is kind of struggling to do. I don't know which one I should do. I want to lose weight and keep toned. Cardio, I have no particular issue with. Just putting it into a whole routine is confusing.0 -

They do have classes which I will do on top but I mean a general daily routine that I can do each time I go to the gym.0 -

Pick one that's aimed at beginners, simple.
I can highly recommend 'a workout routine', I've had great results doing it 2 x per week.2 -
If you want a program that incorporates strength training with some cardio conditioning "The Bridge" is well written by Dr Feigenbaum of Barbell Medicine.1
