JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS - ROUND 60

@deepwoodslady , I second what @jaccimc63 @puttyputty and @abowersgirl say, just go back and see what happens. Talking to a new person doesn't mean anything has to happen from there. And if you decide to meet outside the regular event, go on a coffee date - not as long as dinner but easily extendable or simple to make excuses to leave
And just a little side story: My MIL moved to Pakistan, where most of her family live, years after her husband (my husbands dad, who I never got to meet) had died and after both her kids moved away from their hometown. There, she got married to an old school friend who had been divorced a while. My husband was sceptical at first, but now sees how happy they both have been for the past 10 years. They are quite a bit older than you, so age has nothing to do with romance or happiness or another chapter, nor does talking to a new person.
I hope you have a wonderful evening and look forward to your update.7 -
Round 60
36y/ 173cm or 5'8"
OSW: 74kg May 2018 (163lbs)
UGW: updated 67-63kg (148-139lbs)
Goals for Round 60 (starting Sunday afteroon)
- go for 2 runs
- do my body weight routine 3x
- do yoga
11/24 - no scale
11/25 - 70.5kg (weighed in afternoon)
11/26 - 70.9 in the morning after Pizza and chocolate last night. Started my day with yoga and back to logging today. I ate some food I didn't weigh, but estimated generously. Went for a treadmill run and weighed after my shower (before dinner) and weighed 69.9!!!! No idea how this happened, but it made me so happy
11/27 69.9!!! Forgot to post yesterday. Good day foodwise a few snacks in the eve and some wine, but almost within limits after an hour on the treadmill (running and walking)
11/28 69.5 I'm baffled, not sure what is happening here. But i'm not complaining
The morning so far was good. Now off to a conference for the afternoon, food will be a wild guess... Will have a forced rest day today because I won't be able to make time.
11/29 - 70kg - yesterday eve ended up being a bit of a binge fest... Not being able to track my lunch at a conference buffet threw me off for the rest of the day. Today, started with yoga, but otherwise will be the same as yesterday. I'm going on a weekend trip with 7hr bus ride each way, so I'm kinda dropping the ball. But that doesn't mean I'll be unhealthy, just less controlled and next week, I can go back to my routine until the next trip11 -
@abowersgirl, {{{BIG HUGS}}} to you and your mother. This is an especially awful time of year to lose a loved one. My oldest brother died 2 days before Christmas in 2003. The niece I call my daughter, his daughter, was 16 years old at the time. She can get depressed easily when the holiday gets closer. I always get her talking about the things she and daddy used to do together. They were very close. Thats what your mom needs, the reminiscing and the tears of love. They heal.11

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130.
Want to get back round 127-128
Creeping back to JGM10D quietly after intentionally sitting out a number of rounds, because I need the accountability.
11/25 - sick and eating all the sugar in sight
11/26 - ditto
11/27 - 133.6 - a new high for me as I creep back over my original goal weight of 130.
11/28 - 132.6 - under maintenance calories yesterday.
11/29 - 130.8 - under maintenance calories by a nice amount yesterday. I am not setting a weight loss goal at this time, just getting back into logging and staying under maintenance.

11/24- New start for me. The doctor told me yesterday all I went through to indulge during the holidays. With being on steroids twice, my weight is high having a hard time finding a Christmas dress so no indulging.
11/25- I found a dress, my first big party coming up on Saturday, some of my friends don't even know that I had a brain tumour. Goal this week to get more exercise in.
11/26-Super busy day! My grandson had a very bad cough, took him the doctors office, I never saw it so busy.
11/27- My full day has been spent with my grandson he is only five and he had to take 2 steroids to get his cough to slow down, I will get back on track when he is feeling better.
11/28- Today was the second day we decorated our house with Christmas lights and we need one more day, my steps are back up.
11/29- I just relaxed today manicure, pedicure getting ready for Christmas party!

Well I pretty much suck!!!!! As usual, did not finish last round, heck I even managed to gain 3 pounds!
My goal for this round is to finish the whole round by weighing and posting every day, good or bad. Thatβs it, thatβs the goal! If I lose thatβs great, if I gain, boo, but I WILL post everyday.
11/24 - 189.6
11/25 - 188.8 (-.8)
11/26 - 186.8 (-2.8) this is the easy part, when I lose I post, if I gain even an ounce I get embarrassed and donβt post. Guess I better just keep losing;).
11/27 - 187.8 (-1.8 total) homemade cookies will do it every time but Iβm proud I posted even with a gain! Today will be better!
11/28 - 186.8 (-2.8 total) 5 days posted and counting! Sticking with it.
11/29 - 187.0 (-2.6 total) yep, Iβm still here! Weighed this morning but didnβt get to post until now. 6 days of posting and sticking with it.

@texasfarmer, love your goals about posting every day. Remember though, when we weight EVERY day sometimes the scale WILL show a slight gain, Maybe our sodium was too high, or TOM might surprise us, ππ’ I can eat a late dinner with healthy choices and gain,
Your doing a fabulous job this round,

Day/Weight/Comment:
11/24- 179.4 Binge. I just couldnβt get full regardless of what I ate. I absolutely hate typing in green on this forum. I only like it when it pertains to the gains in the stock market or in finances. I have been doing the dinners and celebrations with friends. Tomorrow is the family Thanksgiving dinner. Monday is when I will dread the scale the most. I donβt lose control everyday or all the time. A vast majority of the time Iβm on top of it and only struggle when traveling. So I will not let holidays or these moments define me. I will be back on track with each and every one of you on Monday. In the meantime, I will continue to log, to weigh-in and to post. I know what @abowersgirl would do.....She would increase her exercise and movement for damage control. I will try this but with no livingroom right now due to the renovations, and guests coming back & forth into the office (which is the first room of my house), privacy and uninterrupted time is scarce during the hunting and holiday week here. But I will pace back & forth if I can't do anything else. My healthy mind continues, my healthy body awaits.
11/25 - 179.6 Thanksgiving dinner today. The saga continues.
11/26 - 180.4 I obviously enjoyed my Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. Kept my actual dinner very reasonable in quantity of food, though a bit carby. Caved on the pecan pie. Otherwise, desserts at a minimum. Overall, much less that I used to eat for these feasts. Iβm a bit impressed with my first Thanksgiving in my new plan and lifestyle. My week was much worse than my actual feast day. I felt like the Pillsbury doughboy going into it which may have helped me reign it in. I canβt wait to get back at it today. Today is βA new dawn, a new day, a new life for me and Iβm feeling good.β
11/27 - 180.4 No change. I know I need more water. Very little water shedding. Only got up once during the night which is amazing but doesnβt help the morning weigh-in. Iβm going to work on this today. My victory yesterday is that I went to Subway to buy my son and friend a big fat sub on a big carby bun. I bought nothing for myself and made a keto friendly zucchini boat for my own dinner.
11/28 - 178.6 Yay. Typing in red again. Shed a lot of water last night, so extra water helped tremendously. Tomorrow is the pool hall/pot luck dinner. I am very nervous and have not been there in 3 weeks because of something that happened last time. A juicy tidbit that I will share later tonight when I get a chance to type it out. Anyoneβs thoughts on the subject are always appreciated.
11/29 - 176.4 More whooshing from the water bloat. Pool/Potluck tonight. I tried to make good food choices without sacrificing the fun and the concept of trying other recipes. Hopefully the scale will not be too unkind to me tomorrow.

11/27 180.2 Not really worried about that .01. lol
11/28 178.8 I've made a good effort to not eat a bunch of junk late at night. So, I'm really happy with this number!

I want to say Thank You to all who responded to my last post. So many positive thoughts, great ideas and personal insights. I used so many of the ideas and went in with the frame of mind that you all have suggested because, removing the personal emotion from it, all your advice was clearly good stuff! I also took the advice by a couple of you to talk to Joey about it. He thinks I should keep an open mind about dating in the future and feels that my DH would be okay with it, would even encourage it.
The gentleman clearly made it a point to come near my usual table (his is pretty far) to, at first, be seen, then to talk to me several times over the evening. He was not flirtatious, but clearly friendly in an interested sort of way. Because of all the advice I did not panic, break into tears or run out. Clearly when I felt panic before going, I turned a possible meeting or even a possible friendship into a full blown affair or marriage lol. He seems very nice and just as Rose said, very health conscious with a very thoughtful and healthy diet (he spoke of this with me). Ahhh. something in common, I suppose.
Clearly, my body image has a lot to do with my insecurities which is exactly why I knew that all of you could help. Yes, I am much older (and look it) since my last date 18 years ago. Also, after the breast cancer, uggg. But one of the newest and biggest insecurities right now is the weight loss and the resulting skin. It could be worse, but some of it is bad, (like my arms!) And I haven't even reached my goal yet. This is something I know that some of you are experiencing or have experienced. I am proud of my weight loss and my commitment to a healthier life. However, I still want to look and feel good. Of course, I am hoping that some of it will "snap back" but at 58.5 years old, I don't hold out much hope for some of the areas. Especially the arms. So my insecurities talk for me sometimes.
There was not one comment that did not make Perfect Sense in one way or another. I honestly walked into the pool hall feeling much better about myself and my situation, though I am still a bit of a work in progress outside and inside too, I guess. Thanks for pulling me back down to a much better place. In many ways we are all becoming "new" with our plans and our better lifestyles. I knew you guys could help and that you would. I will continue working on building that confidence that I deserve.
{{{hugs to you all}}}. Donna16 -

11/24 - 241.4lb - slightly down from yesterday but Iβm ok with that, my lowest yet so not too disheartened.
11/25 - didnβt weigh -
11/26 - 242.8lb - slightly up from the weekend but I didnβt go over calories so will just be water retention (snore same old story). Today is a low calorie day, going for a walk this morning and then a food shop following that.
11/27 - 241.5lb - - a bit disappointed created a really decent deficit yesterday and was ever hopeful of a new low this morning but Iβm still ever so slightly up. Just got to keep persevering however do find it demotivating when the scales donβt instantly reflect my actions π . Hopefully I will see a decent drop in the next few days
11/28 - 242lb - itβs times like this that I despair and feel like itβs all for nothing. Yesterday was all tracked and again a deficit created, in the last two days Iv had a deficit of 3700 kcal and yet my scales are saying Iβm higher π©π€¦π»ββοΈ. I know itβs water weight because well science, but it doesnβt help me find motivation to keep on going until I see it reflected. Today is a low calorie day so who knows for tomorrow. *fluctuations are normal fluctuations are normal fluctuations are bloody f&Β£@#*β¬ annoying but normal π©*
11/29 - 240.5lb - - well atleast thatβs something, unfortunately the frustration taints any accomplishment I might have felt. π
11/30 - 241lb - - up slightly from yesterday but having a low calorie day today so hopefully will see that come back off tomorrow, stayed within calories yesterday so not worried. Today marks 3 months/90 days since I started trying to lose weight and in that time I have lost 26lbs, whilst it hasnβt been fast it has been fairly consistent. Feeling quite motivated for today.

GW for Round 60: 61 kg (134.5 lbs.)
Day/Weight/Comment
11/24 - 62.6 kg (138.0 lbs.). +800g from yesterday. Eat my favorite Italian salami. Did my strength training in the morning. Back on the track!
11/25 - 62.2 kg (137.1 lbs.). βSix-pack in 6 weeksβ in the morning. Planning my longer freestyle (running + walking) in the afternoon, aiming, at least, for 13km (8 miles).
11/26 - 61.8 kg (136.2 lbs.). Completed yesterday my 8 miles Freestyle and strength training today in the morning.
11/27 - 62.0 kg (136.7 lbs.). Somebody should eat less! βSix-pack in 6 weeksβ in the morning.
11/28 β Didnβt weigh today. Frustration from trying to find what to wear for the companyβs annual dinner on Friday was TOO BIG. I never thought that the feeling when the clothes are just hanging on you can be comparable with too tight fit. In everyday life I wear normally pullovers and jeans so the difference is not so obvious. Yesterday I tried the skirts and pants and jackets and all these looked so miserableβ¦ I think I should reconsider my strategy, meaning stabilize my weight in the range from 60 to 62 kg and concentrate on muscle building. I donβt think I have fat to lose anymore. I also have to find the way to increase my calories somehow, although 1200 is enough for me. I mean βgoodβ and not empty calories.
11/29 - 61.5 kg (135.6 lbs.). Ordered yesterday 3 dresses with express delivery for today. Hope at least one will fit. Had a wonderful 7km run today in the morning.
11/30 61.3 kg (135.1 lbs.).

Day/Weight/Comment
11/24 - 245.8..made cake and cupcakes for my sons birthday today, and got into the cupcakes. They were yummy! We're still both sick but excited for his party today. Definitely going to be another high calorie day, but I'm going to enjoy it and then get back on track tomorrow.
11/25 - 245.8..took the day off as planned yesterday and enjoyed my sons birthday. Back at it today though.
11/26 - 243.8...weighed 3 times and it was the same but I still don't believe it. I did not get back on track yesterday as planned and ate at probably around maintenance. Possibly dehydrated as I only had 50 oz of water I think. Still sick and wanting to eat bad things but I will not do it today!!!
11/27 - 243.8?...not really sure. I couldn't stop coughing last night so I wasn't able to get to sleep until 4:30am. Woke at 6:30 when my son woke and weighed in at 246.4. Went back to bed a little later until 2pm and weighed in at 243.8. Oh and I also ate a bunch of chips and cookies with milk when I wasn't able to sleep π I'm sure I'll be up tomorrow.
11/28 - 243.8...probably dehydration, didn't have much of anything to drink yesterday.
11/29 - 243.8...amazed to still see this number cause I haven't been doing great. This cold has really knocked all strength and motivation out of me. Not feeling as crappy today so I'm going to at least turn the eating around...still no energy to exercise though.
11/30 - 243.8..had one meal yesterday at around 5pm, it was a big one but still within calorie goal. I haven't been getting nearly enough water and I'm feeling bloated.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

11/24: 67.6 - Went for a run yesterday, was expecting it to be a short one as I was shattered, and then ended up running 5.5k (aka, longest I've run so far). It was tough to begin with, but after the first km I settled into it and kept taking the longer options. Even at the end I felt like I could've gone longer in my lungs, but it was my legs that were starting to feel it, so I kicked ahead and sprinted for the last 250m or so, just to tire me out. Food wise. It was good! Even without the run it would've been okay, but with it it was very good. And first mince pie of the season! Yum!
11/25: No weigh in
11/26: No weigh in
11/27: 68.3
11/28: 67.7 - Aaaaand back down again. Not a wonderful day's eating yesterday, I've started to feel a little groggy again, so I'm not sure that's helping. Yet another day eating over calories, and I'm sure that today is going to be going in very much the same direction (thanks to the work bake off that's happening today). Ugh, I'm feeling like my eating plan is starting to get a little away from me, winter tends to do this for me. I'm going to have to knuckle down and remind myself as to why I'm doing this, and what my goals are.
11/29: 67.2 - Thanks to the requirement to eat only very little bits of all the cakes I managed to not go too much overboard, my biggest weakness was the ginger and chili cookies. Gosh I love ginger. Probably should've gone out for a run yesterday, but it was raining really quite hard and I could not be bothered to run in the rain so instead I spent the evening desperately trying to get the dog to not run around the house like a looney, and generally lazing about. Somehow calories worked out okay.
11/30: 66.9 - And breathe. Back down under 67. Calories were good yesterday. Normally have a KFC before doggy training, but as it was just me, and I had MaccyDs on Monday, I honestly wasn't feeling it come dinner time. Although, looking at my dinner time calories, it worked only very slightly less than what I would've had if I did KFC, however, at least I know that the calories were what the calories were, and not under the limitations of other people's cooking (and it was super yummy too).

11/26 - 95.6kg/210.8lbs: Maintained this weight for about 6 weeks now but I'm now eager to push on and lose some more.
11/27 - 94.5kg/208.4lbs: Cycled 23 miles on the Wattbike last night, wanted to go further but Iβm working 16 hours today so took it easy. I will probably see a few lbs come off quite quickly - Would be amazing to lose 8.4lbs before the year ends - would love to say I lost 100lbs in 2018 (1 third of my total starting weight!)

Donna
So glad you had a good time and everything went well. I found this for you!

Day/Weight/Comment
11/24 - 146.5 - Well, the past week finally caught up with me. We'll finish up our leftovers today and I'll spend the next 10 days trying to undo the damage. I'm very relieved that I'm comfortable with my weight right now though. I'm also glad I have this challenge to keep me accountable and stop the gain before it gets out of control.
11/25 - 147.5 - Ouch, talk about a delayed reaction! I'm going to have to be pretty careful the next few weeks to make sure I'm back down before Christmas!
11/26 - 146.5 - Back to work, back to logging food, back to eating better, and back to drinking water!
11/27 - 144.5 - I was really surprised to see this number this morning. I didn't even drink much extra water yesterday. I'll take it!
11/28 - 145 - I changed my profile yesterday to a loss of .5 per week, instead of 1 lb. a week. I now have an extra 140 calories to eat a day. I'll see if these extra calories create a weight gain issue for me.
11/29 - 144.5 - I drank all my water yesterday and ate my extra calories in some cashew trail mix. I was surprised how full I felt all day.
11/30 - 143.5 - Nice surprise this morning! Before I left for work this a.m., my husband set out the canned ingredients for a sausage corn chowder that I used to make a lot in previous winters. He was so excited when he asked if I could start making this again. I'm glad I've got a few extra calories to compensate.
