@lesliewynn1 I missed your comment yesterday, "I’m now in a size 10 and dropped off all my size 12’s at Goodwill." No turning back--love it! I'm boxing up clothes to take into The Salvation Army as I shrink out of them.8

11/24 159.8 It’s great way to start a new round with a lower number than the last round! Thor and I walked 4.2 miles today. We’re slowly increasing our distance when my foot doesn’t hurt. On Monday I’ll see a podiatrist. I’m happy to be back for another round with you friendly folks! I pray it will be a great round for everyone here.
11/25 159.4 Nice to see, but, while my weight has gone down, I ate a little pecan pie and drank a little eggnog for the last three days, and my ketone level is down to less than .1. That’s my wake-up call—enough pie! I may have to put the last couple of slices in the freezer to give to my husband over time. He’s still working on the pumpkin pie, and there’s a lot of pumpkin cake left. It will disappear if he takes it to work tomorrow. To my credit, I haven’t even tasted the pumpkin cake. I give thanks every day, but I’m glad that holiday is behind me.
11/26 160.2 Whoops, I should have listened to myself yesterday. Last night, I made the decision that one ounce of pie and half a roll probably wouldn’t hurt me. Wrong! Beginning today, I will, once more, fully embrace the keto guidelines. What was I thinking? It’s cool out, so Thor and I can take a little walk and see if the pad the doctor put on my foot this morning is helpful. I still have time to get back in the 150’s before the end of the round.
11/27 159.8 I followed the rules yesterday and took a 3 mile walk with Thor. The podiatrist I saw yesterday thinks he can get me running without surgery. I hope he’s right. Today, I get to see what the dermatologist finds. My skin isn’t getting younger. I didn’t do a lot of sunbathing in my younger years, so that should help. Still, I’m fair skinned and had time in the sun, and I’m pretty sure a spot on my nose will be a concern. Fortunately, my soul is spotless, thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice on my behalf—that’s the critical issue. Praise God! I must keep everything in perspective.
11/28 159.4 Inching back down. Thor and I walked 4.8 miles this morning, without foot pain. We’re almost at the 5-mile mark, which I’ve determined is my cue to start C25K again. I was thrilled when my sweet daughter called yesterday and talked for two hours about keto/running/strength training. She started the keto WOE after my granddaughter told her I was losing weight with keto. She decided to try it and loves her results—15 lb. loss in 3 weeks and more energy. She cruises, often, with her husband and wants to recover her bikini figure. It will be a miracle if my daughter starts running. 😊 After I learned how to run, I enjoyed it. Maybe my daughter will, too. I had a spot on my nose burned by the dermatologist yesterday—hope that does it for a while.

@AJB1014 wooot for the NSV !! Giving up a KFC cookie is extremely difficult lol also great work on bathroom exercises. I love when people get comfortable enough with exercise that they begin to think of it as more then all or nothing concept. Doing a couple minutes here and there is just as good as setting aside a full half hour, especially with weight training,
@susiemcmac have fun!!!
@quiltingjaine I agree with everything you said. Keto is a change in lifestyle not a diet. I have seen people drop weight like crazy but gain it back even faster when they jump the bandwagon. If you do it right then you will feel great while losing the weight...but if it's some thing you think you can do on or off, you will potentially be putting yourself through an emotional roller coaster that matches your roller coaster of weight. I also had trouble with WW new zero point concept. I know people who ignore it and stick to the old routine. I am convinced it is just to remind people to eat more of the good stuff, not expecting an over kill. I kind of was turned off of it, personally when I noticed the issues but then again every body is different so whatever works for your lifestyle and health works for you. That is why I hate the "fad"diet trends, to work on your weight and body is to know your body, which takes time and care.
@deepwoodslady I will be waiting for your update. I hope you have fun!! I don't know what happened last time but I do hope this time works out better

11/26 149 I was able to maintain for most of the week last week but the last couple of days were the hardest in motivation, time and dedication. I am almost done reading everyone's post from round 59 and haven't started round 60 yet but I should be caught up by the end of the day. I like giving everyone's post attention, so when I feel as if I am not doing that I stop reading or else I would be done by now. A new week and a new round. I am not worried about the number because I wasn't paying any attention to what I was eating and I wasn't exercising at all so I know once I start back up today, the weight should come off pretty quick and I will start my downward trend again. I am just happy I am snapping back into it at this weight rather then waiting until I gain an extra 10+!! here is to a good round!!
11/27 148.4 late posting today, yesterday was a wash, I was all set to get some exercising in but then one thing lead to another and I didn't. today was better, got a jog in and 90 min of volleyball. I have my mind made up...I'm resetting mentally. I am starting at this weight and looking at it from a perspective of beginning again, that way I don't torture myself on the gain and the amount of days/weeks I may have wasted because of my bad week last week. Cheers to new beginnings and remembering it's only a number.
11/28147.4 I am proud of myself..a couple of weeks ago I would have seen this slow moving after a binge and get super down for the amount of time I put it on vs having to take it off in the first place...but I am at total peace, I know it will come off and there will be weeks it takes longer to melt away and there will be woooosh weeks where it seems to just slip off. I have been showing a loss trend since I started give me 10 days and at this point that's all I can ask for, regardless of it is .4th of a pound (my lowest) or 5.4 (My highest) it is going down and it works! This week I have decided to give up chocolate, I am not usually a person who believes taking some thing away but instead learning portions, moderation and balance throughout the week (which means not having your treat everyday) but I have been triggered and have been craving it a lot more then usual, so will do what I have too until I show some signs of control again

I'm right there with you on the chocolate. It's been everywhere I go since Halloween, really. I've been giving in and the scales have shown it. But this week, so far at least, I've stayed away from it everywhere. I really wanted some today, but reached for some lean turkey instead as my after work snack. Protein seems to alleviate most of my cravings.11 -
Did better this last round, but Thanksgiving ended me kind of high. Saw 152 and 153 last round but couldn’t stay consistent. Bounced around a lot between those and 155. So my goal this round is to get 152 consistently by the end of this round. No vacations or holidays, so I should be able to focus more the next couple of rounds. I know I still have to live life and half of this journey is learning how to live and enjoy life, but at the same time not over indulging all of the time. So here is to round 60, good luck everybody!

11/24 156.7 better than my 158 yesterday but still higher than I would have liked to see. I knew it was going to be rough this weekend. My son and his girlfriend are leaving today to go back to school. So we are having a fair well lunch at this bbq place in town. Going to try and do well today and hopefully at least get back under 155 by Monday.
11/25 - 158.9 ouch! This 4 day weekend was just about as bad as my vacation a couple weeks ago. Back on track Monday morning. Hopefully I can drink lots of water and do half way decent today. Still tons of leftovers though in the house. So glad tomorrow is Monday and I can get back on schedule. Had an amazing holiday though and that’s what’s important.
11/26 - 157.9 Did better yesterday but, not great. I was hoping to at least see 156 something this morning, but didn't. Brought my salad to work for lunch and will make turkey pot pie for dinner (crust-less for me) and that will be the end of our leftovers. I can tell just the way my ring fits on my finger, my sodium levels are down from this weekend already. Lots of water and will stay on track this week. November has been rough. I have been all over the place. I have seen 152 all the way up to 159. I'm ready for some consistency.
11/27 - 155.5 Did good all day yesterday. Glad most of the Thanksgiving and weekend weight has fallen off. Would love to see 153 again tomorrow or at least by Friday and end November with at least a couple of pounds loss, but we will see.
11/28 - 154.1 Doing good this week. Back down to my pre-Thanksgiving wait. Actually a little lower. Youngest called from school and she was sick. So I had to leave work and stay home with her today. Kept my snacking under control which was hard since I was at home doing nothing. Did have plans for a dinner date with my hubby, but now I don’t know if we will go. We may have to postpone. We will see what the older kids are doing. I may actually finish this round with a loss! Half way through and doing well.

I LOVE hummus and carrots and it FEELS so healthy to be eating hummus. But, those calories do add up fast and I could eat a whole container at one sitting if I weren't careful. I just cannot buy it very often. Same thing with peanut butter, even the LowFat JIF kind which I love. Those two items are just about as bad as chocolate for me.5 -
@UTMom81 --Thank you. I needed that turkey idea. When it is 8:30 pm and the workday was long and nothing seems to fill me up and I start in on the junk......It will be salty, cuz I will be getting the natural lunch meat variety, but hopefully the water weight will drop off eventually. I am going to put it in the car. It is cold enough here to be ok.5

For the chocolate lovers like me, I started working my way up to dark chocolate 70% with almonds or walnuts. Now believe it or not, I had to go with 85% or 90% now to not get those cravings. more. Maybe it is my imagination, lol????, but the regular candy seems to be everywhere lately more and more.5

I'm 37, female, from USA. Going to meet my long distance beau of a few months (though we've been talking for a year this month) in January, so very motivated. We're both out of shape/ overweight and both working on it, so this is more about fitness than weight drops. We're hoping for a Jan. 4-6 weekend, so I can do four rounds!

Did badly the past few, Thanksgiving leftovers, but stayed active. But I did some meal prep this evening so things should be doing better soon!
Confirmed travel plans with the boyfriend today, so that felt good regardless.
Just wanting to do a check-in. Got my hour of cardio today, but it was really hard. I like this thread and hope everyone's doing well, or just coming back to say hi, and stuff. You know, years ago when I had my most success at lowering my weight, I was on Calorie Count. But over the years they changed how their community features worked, and the support was gone. Only the most popular people really got any feedback, and it left you feeling alone. I actually attribute this to their eventual failure as a site. So I hope to be staying in these ten-day challenges for a sense of being part of a group. There may be days where I don't even log calories, but I'll always come here, I think.

I'm formally announcing that I won't be taking my weight every single day. I feel like the first, fifth, and tenth day are enough for me. Change isn't overnight and watching little fluctuations feels unneccessary. Right now, I don't think my weight has changed any, but I'm wearing jeans that I haven't put on for a couple of weeks, and they are distinctly, noticeably looser.
I am also doing keto. (Low carb diet was recommended to me by a doctor, and I've put it off long enough.) I'm not counting calories for the next two days, just getting through those first-three-days-to-a-week carb cravings the best way I can. Not gonna beat myself up over the meat and cheese calories as long as I can get that glucose burned off. A short term sacrifice for long term results. Then I will resume calorie logging/ restriction. Last time I did keto for a couple of weeks, the appetite reduction was great. I know I'll have no issue restricting calories too, once I'm burning fat instead of carbs.
Hope everyone else is doing well!
Only weighing on days 1, 5, and 10.
11/24: 245

Glad today to see a couple of pounds have come off. I only made it through half an hour of cardio today, due to interruptions from roommates and family, but that half hour was the full first section of Jillian Michael's extreme shed and shred. It's a beast of a workout if you're out of shape, and I am. (But not too much longer, I'm sure, if I keep doing it.) After an interruption at the end of the video, I was geared down again, heart rate had dropped, and couldn't talk myself back into doing more, even if it was easier. I think my body was like, YES, NOW WE CAN REST HOORAY! I'm sure everyone here knows what I mean.
Keto is going well. I've been wanting sweets, of course, but curbed it tonight with a good deal of cucumber and olive oil, and some cheese and salami. In spite of not restricting calories- again, just doing whatever it takes to get through the carb cravings the first few days- I'm actually eating less than 2000 calories. I didn't log or weigh to as great a degree as when I'm doing strict calorie counting, but I've done enough of that, that my estimate for today was about 1800. I'll round up and say it was 2000, which is REALLY good when I've done 30 minutes of intense cardio. I made a fathead pizza this morning and didn't feel the need to eat again until dinner. This is good. This is the kinda thing I need. I don't have keto odors yet, though, so gotta keep trying for under 20 carbs. Had around 25 today. Perfectly okay with me.
I feel good! Everyone else, I hope you all feel good, too.12 -

11/26-Super busy day! My grandson had a very bad cough, took him the doctors office, I never saw it so busy.
11/27- My full day has been spent with my grandson he is only five and he had to take 2 steroids to get his cough to slow down, I will get back on track when he is feeling better.

Thank you so much for the kind words. The Radiation doctor said last Thursday I have a 10 % chance that tumour will come back. He said to indulge over the holidays and go for a nice vacation. I am so fortunate that I beat and I'm here for my family that is my Christmas present.13 -
Sorry it took so long to get back to the forum. Long post, I’m afraid. But I know that through this forum I am reaching people of both sexes, many persuasions, lots of religions and belief systems, many races, many ages and many levels of understanding, so I appreciate the opportunity to post to all of you who have been kind enough to have me in your life for a few moments every day.
Okay, so here is my juicy tidbit but first a quick background: I go to the local Moose pool hall with my male friend Joey nearly every Thursday. He plays pool, I bring potluck. Joey has been a neighbor and friend to myself (and my deceased husband) for nearly 19 years. I am sure when I first started going that some folks probably thought we were a couple. Since, when people have asked, I have assured them “no.” I am only there as a supportive friend and that has always been understood by us both. While at the pool hall, I make sure I get up every hour and go outside (basically to the deck smoking area) to get my 250 steps in per hour. If I go out any other door I would be locked out as I’m not a member. I am sure many people thought I was a smoker going out for a cig, but not true. People have started to get to know me better and now know that I don’t smoke, I am just following my fitbit.
3 weeks ago, as Joey and I were leaving, a really really nice lady stopped us on our way out and said the following: “Do you see that man over there?” I said, “Yes”. She said, “He doesn’t eat any meat, not a drop.” So I am thinking, Okay, nice to know, right? Then she says, “You like doing healthy things, and so does he. I think the two of you should talk. You would probably have a lot to talk about.”
I suddenly realized that many had been checking the status between Joey and I. Lots of questions, etc. I’m now thinking that they were checking for him since he is part of the “original gang” and I am the newbie. Honestly, I had no idea what in the world to say! I said, “I take it he is single?” and she said yes and smiled……… I quickly left.
Now, I have been a widow for nearly 3 years. I am 58 years old. While it’s true that if I live another 30 years until, say, age 88, I probably do not want to spend those 30 years alone. But I have never even entertained the idea that I might be ready NOW. I don’t even know his name. I can say that at my age many men look old and withered or worn in my opinion (sad but true). But this is a very very nice looking man. Well dressed, clean, very handsome. Looks to be about my age, I think. Is he interested or is it just Rose trying to play matchmaker? Has he made comments to the others who’ve been asking me questions about my status? I was so scared that I skipped the following week and did not even go. It was the week of the event's Thanksgiving feast, but I missed it because of this. The following Thursday was the real Thanksgiving so the event was cancelled. This week, I plan on going again because I don’t want to stop going over this. But I am nervous as all get-out!
Horrible timing. I am just getting ready to see a Plastic Surgeon in December for the breast cancer issues. House still in renovations. In the middle of my weight loss journey (he never saw me full-fat). Maybe this whole thing is innocent. Maybe he’s never even noticed me. Should I ask Rose if he has ever said anything (which would be construed as interest}? Should I consider exchanging phone numbers or going out at some point if he were to ask? Is it betraying my DH (who is in heaven)? Should I just stop going so I can avoid the whole thing? What do I want to do? Bury my head in the sand, of course, and not be put in a position of having to make hard decisions. After all, what kind of man is he? Does he drink too much and do nothing fruitful with his time but play pool and get drunk everyday? Is he kind? Why is he alone at his age? What is wrong with him? Wait! I’m alone too and I’m okay. Truly, I’m so confused and my thinking HAS WENT OFF THE RAILS over something that could be very innocent. Have I broke down into tears off and on for the past 3 weeks for nothing? (Yes, I've been that affected). What do I do tomorrow? What do I do? Any thoughts, opinions, advice or words of wisdom? SOS, SOS.
P.S. I leave tomorrow evening at about 5:15 PM U.S. EST for the pool hall. I will anxiously read all posts tonight and tomorrow.11 -

11/24 weights session (legs and glutes) and did lots of meal prep to help keep me on track
11/25 no exercise but did manage over 10k steps thanks to doing a bit of housework!
11/26 stayed under calorie goal but did snack on chocolate a bit more than usual, need to keep an eye on that to ensure it doesn't get out of control (I'm a chocolate fiend 🙈😂🤷🏼♀️)
11/27 chocolate snacking got out of control again. Going to make a conscious effort to make better choices tomorrow!
11/28 I did not make better choices 🙈 skipped dinner and had a load of treats instead 😂 stayed within calorie goal though and did over 11k steps.

11/28 -181.8- This is my new maintenance weight it. It's been pretty steady recently. Did really well yesterday. Going to try to do the same today. I packed some hummus today with my carrots but I just realized that one little cup is 160 calories and, as a lot of you know, that's kind of a lot of calories for someone who's in a deficit! So I think I'm just going to save it for dinner because I know I'm going to get hungry otherwise.

Those two items are just about as bad as chocolate for me.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one lol! I will say that it did help me feel satiated somehow. I'm not sure if it was due to the hummus (maybe the healthy fat content?) or what but I thoroughly enjoyed it lol.5 -

11/24 - 241.4lb - slightly down from yesterday but I’m ok with that, my lowest yet so not too disheartened.
11/25 - didn’t weigh -
11/26 - 242.8lb - slightly up from the weekend but I didn’t go over calories so will just be water retention (snore same old story). Today is a low calorie day, going for a walk this morning and then a food shop following that.
11/27 - 241.5lb - - a bit disappointed created a really decent deficit yesterday and was ever hopeful of a new low this morning but I’m still ever so slightly up. Just got to keep persevering however do find it demotivating when the scales don’t instantly reflect my actions 😅. Hopefully I will see a decent drop in the next few days
11/28 - 242lb - it’s times like this that I despair and feel like it’s all for nothing. Yesterday was all tracked and again a deficit created, in the last two days Iv had a deficit of 3700 kcal and yet my scales are saying I’m higher 😩🤦🏻♀️. I know it’s water weight because well science, but it doesn’t help me find motivation to keep on going until I see it reflected. Today is a low calorie day so who knows for tomorrow. *fluctuations are normal fluctuations are normal fluctuations are bloody f&£@#*€ annoying but normal 😩*
11/29 - 240.5lb - - well atleast that’s something, unfortunately the frustration taints any accomplishment I might have felt. 😖

11/24 - 62.6 kg (138.0 lbs.). +800g from yesterday. Eat my favorite Italian salami. Did my strength training in the morning. Back on the track!
11/25 - 62.2 kg (137.1 lbs.). “Six-pack in 6 weeks” in the morning. Planning my longer freestyle (running + walking) in the afternoon, aiming, at least, for 13km (8 miles).
11/26 - 61.8 kg (136.2 lbs.). Completed yesterday my 8 miles Freestyle and strength training today in the morning.
11/27 - 62.0 kg (136.7 lbs.). Somebody should eat less! “Six-pack in 6 weeks” in the morning.
11/28 – Didn’t weigh today. Frustration from trying to find what to wear for the company’s annual dinner on Friday was TOO BIG. I never thought that the feeling when the clothes are just hanging on you can be comparable with too tight fit. In everyday life I wear normally pullovers and jeans so the difference is not so obvious. Yesterday I tried the skirts and pants and jackets and all these looked so miserable… I think I should reconsider my strategy, meaning stabilize my weight in the range from 60 to 62 kg and concentrate on muscle building. I don’t think I have fat to lose anymore. I also have to find the way to increase my calories somehow, although 1200 is enough for me. I mean “good” and not empty calories.
11/29 - 61.5 kg (135.6 lbs.). Ordered yesterday 3 dresses with express delivery for today. Hope at least one will fit. Had a wonderful 7km run today in the morning.

I’m baaaaaack! I’ve definitely fallen off since I stopped doing these challenges. We’ve had a few hiccups at home, with a family member visiting, then injuring themselves, so they’ve been in the hospital for over a week, and we’re a bit all over the place. Admittedly I used that as an excuse to eat poorly last weekend and while my weight hasn’t gone up too much, it hasn’t gone done either. I’ll still be logging on Lose It! but I’ll be here daily for my check-ins

11/24: 67.6 - Went for a run yesterday, was expecting it to be a short one as I was shattered, and then ended up running 5.5k (aka, longest I've run so far). It was tough to begin with, but after the first km I settled into it and kept taking the longer options. Even at the end I felt like I could've gone longer in my lungs, but it was my legs that were starting to feel it, so I kicked ahead and sprinted for the last 250m or so, just to tire me out. Food wise. It was good! Even without the run it would've been okay, but with it it was very good. And first mince pie of the season! Yum!
11/25: No weigh in
11/26: No weigh in
11/27: 68.3
11/28: 67.7 - Aaaaand back down again. Not a wonderful day's eating yesterday, I've started to feel a little groggy again, so I'm not sure that's helping. Yet another day eating over calories, and I'm sure that today is going to be going in very much the same direction (thanks to the work bake off that's happening today). Ugh, I'm feeling like my eating plan is starting to get a little away from me, winter tends to do this for me. I'm going to have to knuckle down and remind myself as to why I'm doing this, and what my goals are.
11/29 67.2 - Thanks to the requirement to eat only very little bits of all the cakes I managed to not go too much overboard, my biggest weakness was the ginger and chili cookies. Gosh I love ginger. Probably should've gone out for a run yesterday, but it was raining really quite hard and I could not be bothered to run in the rain so instead I spent the evening desperately trying to get the dog to not run around the house like a looney, and generally lazing about. Somehow calories worked out okay.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Date/Weight/Comment
11/24= 150
11/25= did not weigh; traveling
11/26= 149.6 New goal of walking for an hour at least 5 days this week; No Junk Food challenge begins today too. Good luck, everyone, on the post-Thanksgiving back-on-the-wagon (or maybe we should be running alongside that wagon) new mindset!
11/27= 149.6 I’m a little disappointed this didn’t change at all.
11/28= 148.4 Yay, headed in the right direction. Now to keep it going!
11/29= 146.8 Here we go! Much better! Back to pre-thanksgiving weight.

OSW: 271.8 (Oct 9/18)
UGW: 165 or lower
End R58: 261.2 (-2.2)
End R59: 258.8 (-2.4)
11/23 - 258.8 - My goal is to stick to 1500 cals more days than not.
11/24 - 258.4 - I would love it if my body could keep this pace for this round.
11/25 - 258.0 - Stressful day yesterday but I didn't succumb to soothing myself with food. That's a big win for me.
11/26 - 257.0 - I didn't do anything out of the ordinary to deserve this but I'll take it. This was my goal weight for November.
11/27 - 255.8 - I've been eating closer to 1500 most days this round and it's really helping.
11/28 - 255.0 - 1400 calories yesterday. I'm eating more fish and I find that keeps me full longer. Also, snacking on fruit is helping.
11/29 - 254.2 - 1567 calories yesterday.
