Well done everyone for hanging in there, it's a tricky time of year and a lot of people wouldn't bother trying to lose weight until january so I think we should give ourselves a round of applause!!!3 -

I was again out of town, thus the lack of a data point last week. I haven’t yet achieved the number prior to Thanksgiving, but at least I’m moving in the correct direction. I am only 3.5 pounds away from entering into the “normal” bmi weight range and it is sooo slow.

Sorry to be so late in responding - I'm also on Tamoxifen. I know it is definitely messing with my hormones which in turn messes with my weight. Meds can definitely make loss much harder.2 -

Highest Weight Ever: 253 (2014/2015)
Original MFP starting Weight on this current journey: 235.0 (Jan 11, 2018)
Challenge Starting Weight: 174.0
Challenge Goal Weight: 154.5
Challenge Ending Weight: TBD
My Plan: To lose 1.5 pounds per week for 13 weeks (19.5 lbs total) and end at 154.5 on Christmas Eve Morn. Then I want to enjoy my Christmas Eve night with family, wake up on the 25th and listen for Santa’s sleigh bells. I will CAREFULLY enjoy myself between Christmas and New Years and reassess on January 1st and get busy with the final leg of my plan.
Final Goal: To weigh 155 by Valentine’s day.
DON’T FORGET TO SCHEDULE YOUR MAMMOGRAM!
Oct 01 - 174.0 And Away We Go! Good Luck Everyone. I don’t know what happened to the original person starting this challenge but I’m still in if you all are!
Oct 08 - 174.8
Oct 15 - 175.4 Oops I did it again.
Oct 22 - 177.8 Went to DBs to help him after surgery. Enjoyed big city with big food. Calories I controlled pretty well. Carbs got me badly. Next week I will attempt to post in the color red instead of the color green. I will be food prepping today!
Oct 29 - 177.0 I can’t believe I managed to pull off a small loss. I was up much higher this week after multiple traveling trips. I have gotten rid of the water retention I think, and now I can get down to the business of fat! My Mammogram and doctors appointments at the University Hospital turned out great. They did not detect any breast cancer so I am still in remission. I will see you all on November 5th!
Nov 05 - 177.2 Lots of travel this week. It won’t be pretty.
Nov 12 - 177.6 Okay, I warned everyone that it wouldn’t be pretty. I travelled 5 days this week and hit over 180 pounds! Getting back down to this by weigh-in day was a hard earned miracle. I am back home in my “safety zone” for a few days so it is slowily coming off as I stick to plan and drink debloating water. I hope everyone will have a great week!
Nov 19 - 178.6 Weight back up from traveling. Restaurant foods and their sodium kill me, but not my spirit! I will be doing lots of travel during all the holidays as I live so far from civilization and being in the cities is like putting a kid in a candy store. I continue to practice restraint.
Nov 26 - 180.4 Our family feast for Thanksgiving was held yesterday (Sunday). No weigh in today was just not good. Though the meal was carby and the dessert was super sweet (pecan pie), I found that I ate less than I did in the olden holiday dinners. This upcoming week will be very on point. Even restrictive. I’ve got to pull this puppy in before it gets too far behind me and bites me in the butt.
Dec 03 - 178.4 Not a bad loss considering 2 social engagements this week all built around lots of food. My new mindset for December is to be extra careful with my portions. I know I will partake in many festivities, so portion control will be the name of the game for me. Great in theory – Now I’m putting in to practice! Have a great week everyone!
Dec 10 - 180.4 Back to this weight again. Sheesh. Stress eating for sure. University Hospital appointment this week so I will be traveling for a couple of days. Lots of sitting and restaurants. Ugg. I fear a double mastectomy is in my future. I will find out soon. In remission now. Many options to consider. Anestrazole (spelled wrong?) is what I currently take since I am post-menapausal. Hormones for sure do not help with the weight fluctuations. I wonder if it is this drug that is causing so much hair loss, even while in remission. I am going to try to work as hard as I can on my steps and my food plan in December, However, Look out January, you better be ready for me!

Hugs to you. It sucks that what is keeping us healthy is also messing with our health Looking back at my weight over the past couple of years, I definitely noticed an uptick within a few months of starting the meds. I guess the good thing is that we won't have to be on it forever, right?1 -
Oct 1- 122.6
Oct 8- 121.8
Oct 15- 124.6
Oct 22 - 124.8 I appear to be going backwards. Not surprising, since I went to a food festival yesterday.... Gotta remind myself that just because it's a "special occasion" or whatever excuse I want to use, doesn't mean I have to shove food into my pie hole like the Apocalypse is coming. This time of year has tons of "special occasions" and that mindset is not going to help matters.
Oct 29 - 120.4 I am not under any delusions that I've actually lost 4 lbs in a week. The previous number was an early-morning weigh-in after an evening of, if not exactly gluttony, certainly eating with abandon. My weight tends to fluctuate a lot, (in fact I'm up a pound and a half today from Monday's weigh in), so I just keep reminding myself to look at the trend rather than individual days' numbers. That's why I like challenges like this, so it keeps me looking at longer-term results rather than being disappointed with day-to-day fluctuations.
Nov 05 - 123.8 Still fluctuating like mad, but at least I'm down a pound from the previous weeks of mid-October. Hopefully it will be steadier now, but my will power this time of year is nil, and the holiday treats are already out and about! It also doesn't help that today is national donut day and my boss brought some in to celebrate!
Nov 12 - 124 Ugh. Some bad decisions this past week that I had hoped the weekend of not overdoing it would balance out. Alas, no. As frustrating as it is, it's good for me to see this so I can remind myself that my actions have consequences!
Nov 19 - 121.6 Another big fluctuation, this time in the right direction, but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I haven't been feeling well and only warm fluids feel good on a sore throat. I've been trying to be really good with staying on track though, so hopefully it won't bounce back in the other direction once I'm feeling better.
Nov 26 - 123.6 Well, poop. I know Thanksgiving was this week, but I slipped back into old habits/thinking, like "Well, I've already eaten a ton, so I might as well eat more..." That's always gotten me in trouble. I thought being sick would curb my appetite a bit, but nope. Which is actually fine, since I know we need nutrients to heal, etc. But it still sucks to see that I'm at a heavier weight than when I started. Time to buckle down...
Dec 03 - 123.4 Tiny bit in the right direction. I still can't seem to resist the treats circulating this time of year. It's like I have major FOMO, even though I know it's okay if I "miss out" on the cookies, candy, and other snacks that are popping up everywhere. It's a moment by moment struggle.
Dec 10 - 122.2 Finally getting a handle on things, but who knows for how long. (And I'm still pretty much where I started )I've had to basically put a ban on Xmas goodies, otherwise I will never stop eating them. I've been actually finding some winter fruits I like that satisfy my sweet tooth and experimenting with some new recipes. Hopefully the momentum will carry me through the holidays. Good luck to everyone!

(And not in the skin tight, show off the fat folds form fitting clothes used to be for me) from 14-16 to 8-10. I expect to be 1 more pound down by xmas eve. Then gain some from cheating since it's xmas, comes once a year. ( expect mostly water weight since I'm keto and the carbs and sugar will hold water. Will keep track best I can to see how much is approx fat)
3 days for xmas, one for new years eve, one for birthday on 9th. In-between and there after I'll be on track again. Hope to hit the gym in new year.

Just wanted to say I've really enjoyed being in this challenge, I'd be up for doing another one for the first three months of the year, up to easter or april fools day or whatever.......It's nice to be in a challenge that you set your own goals.

Yay! I’m so excited to see this number. I would guess that I last saw this number was in the 1990’s. I am now only one pound away from being in the normal weight category. I have yo-yo’d many years, always within the overweight category. My weight at any one time fell in a range of 20 pounds or so. This is the last time of yo-yo’ing for me. Ironically, as I state this, I am envisioning Scarlett O’Hara declaring that she will never go hungry again. Perhaps somewhat concerning...

I fear a double mastectomy is in my future. I will find out soon. In remission now. Many options to consider. Anestrozole (spelled wrong?) is what I currently take since I am post-menapausal. Hormones for sure do not help with the weight fluctuations. I wonder if it is this drug that is causing so much hair loss, even while in remission. I am going to try to work as hard as I can on my steps and my food plan in December, However, Look out January, you better be ready for me!
Dec 17 - 180.4 Exact weight as last week, which is probably a blessing during this season of food and restaurants during shopping. Not much to say this week. If you need me you know where to find me.

……………………………..TOTAL LOST IN DEC:
3 -
Oct 1- 122.6
Dec 17 - 120.6 I was SO careful these past couple of weeks and it really helped. I hate having to be so mindful all the time, though. I've slipped the past couple days and am already up 3 pounds from this last stat. I feel like I have to be careful of every morsel, which gets old, especially around this time of year. But I guess that's just the life, huh? (Especially for us shorties.) Initially, I was bummed because I'll probably be close to the same weight as when I started this challenge, but that's actually not too bad, considering I usually gain a bunch during this season.
I'm definitely interested in another challenge after this one.

I am not disappointed at all. I've lost so much weight and feel so much better. Good luck and happy holidays to all!4 -

Highest Weight Ever: 253 (2014/2015)
Original MFP starting Weight on this current journey: 235.0 (Jan 11, 2018)
Challenge Starting Weight: 174.0
Challenge Goal Weight: 154.5
Challenge Ending Weight: 180.4
Anestrozole (spelled wrong?) is what I currently take since I am post-menapausal. Dec 24 - 183.3
……………………………..TOTAL LOST IN DEC: Gain 1.9 lbs.
Final thoughts: Wow! I did horrible during the fall & early winter season. I have a lot to do starting in January. A lot of work ahead of me on my weight. But I am up for the challenge.
Merry Christmas to you all!

CentaurusSoter wrote: »I set a mid-term goal for 1 January 2019. I figured I had 100 days until then, and my mid-term goal was to get into the 200s. Figured I'd dropped 40lbs+ in 70 days, I could possibly do 40 more lbs in 100 days. If I don't hit that goal, nbd. Just gonna keep chugging along with keto. If I hit 299 early, well, it would be a nice christmas gift to myself.
I never really figured I'd hit anywhere near my goal. I would be there already if not for my November turkey day and test before. Still, I'm chuffed to be so close to my pipe dream of a goal. When I first started with this, I was 154.13kg/339.8lbs.. Fast forward to now:
Sunday 07/15: 174.00kg/383.6lbs
Sunday 12/02: 144.30kg/318.2lbs
Sunday 12/09: 142.70kg/314.6lbs
Sunday 12/16: 140.61kg/310.0lbs
Sunday 12/23: 138.79kg/306.0lbs
Monday 12/24: 138.52kg/305.4lbs
Tuesday 12/25:
Today's Weight: 138.52kg/305.4lbs
Right this moment, I might actually hit my 100 day goal. It's insane to see the loss, but this is still just the start of my journey. I need to hit my goal weight and then figure out how to keep a normal weight for life.
Good luck and happy holidays to all!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! I didn't hit my insanely unrealistic goal of 136kg/299.99lbs. But I am at 138.0/304.2lbs, so who cares? This has all be a giant victory for my waistline, my confidence, and my general well being.
Here's hoping everyone else hit their goals, or got close like I did. Here's hoping we all find the will to keep on being awesome on our journey into healthy. Good luck and see y'all in the New Year!
