Hi I’ve lost 60 lbs nearly and I walk 7-10 miles most days I’m starting dancefit classes next week but I need to start weights at home. I have kettle bells but found the beginners dvd hard so am looking for very basic beginners weights for ladies - I’m 49 so I know weights are good for me Thanks

Start out slow and build slow. I'm 50 now but I started at 45.
Start with body weight and if you enjoy strength training and want to progress, you can move on to a dumbbell beginner program. The link contains both body weight and beginner dumbbell programs.

Also after I started out, and adding to @Motorsheen suggestion, I got the Strong Curves "A Woman's Guide to Building a Better Butt and Body' book. Its an amazing resource and guide book with tons of useful information.4 -
Starting with exercise bands for a few weeks then moving to free weights is a good way to condition your muscles prior to doing any more intense workouts4

Here is an easy beginners intro programme for the absolute beginner. (Below)
It will get you started without overwhelming you.
Move on to NROLFW, Strong Curves, or any of the programmes in the link after a few weeks.
Cheers, h.

Focus on form and not the weight. Start with a few exercises then work up to more0

I started with workouts like 30 day shred, The Firm, Denise Austin 3 week boot camp (all use dumbbells and body weight)...Then gradually tried weight machines and then free weights. It just depends on what you like and what you want to do.0
