MFP macros are fine to start with. What specifically do you need help with?3

If your goal is weight loss, calories are the most important. There is nothing wrong with the MFP default macro goals, but they aren't something you HAVE to stick too. Many of us look at the protein and fat goals as minimums to try to reach or exceed, and let carbs fall where they may.
One thing macros can help with is satiety. If you you find you are struggling with hunger, playing around with your macros can help, specifically focusing on one that is always low.4 -

If you find you prefer eating more protein, there's nothing wrong with going over that goal (assuming it isn't crowding out other things that you need). Humans can thrive on a wide variety of macronutrient ranges, it's one of the reasons we're able to live in so many different places and circumstances historically.2 -
Well the plan is weight loss and maintain a healthy weight while eating healthy0

At this time I wouldn't worry about macros as long as you are logging correctly and staying within a calorie deficit. The macros MFP gives you are by default and are typically minimums. Calories are what matters when it comes to weight loss.2 -

That's good. Aim to go over protein and fat and under carbs. At the end of the day though, as long as you're hitting your weekly calorie goal in a consistent way, you'll lose weight.3 -

Over protein is fine, as long as you're still getting a healthy amount of fat, and a good assortment of varied, colorful fruits and veggies. In a technical sense, generally people need a certain amount of protein (many arguments about how much ), a certain amount of fat (more arguments ), some fiber, and micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, other phytochemicals such as anti-oxidants, better consumed via food than via supplements when possible).
People with certain medical conditions may need to vary things, and certain unusual diets-of-choice may vary and still be healthy, but the above are the basics for most of us in general.
The MFP defaults are a good start. Personally, I'd suggest treating its protein and fat goals as minimums, and making sure you're getting veggies/fruits (some countries recommend 5 servings, some starting to recommend more). It doesn't have to be an instant thing; it can evolve.
Evolution has made humans pretty flexible as omnivores. These days, us first-worlders are lucky when we can try to optimize.4 -

Thanks. This is helpful. I’ve been trying to figure out how to count them as well.1
