Kiwi seeds in smoothies

My mom told me kiwis are good for pre workout. I tried putting it in a smoothie but the seeds from the kiwi stuck to my throat and it really hurt. Anyone else have this problem?

Not sure where your mom got the idea that kiwis help before a workout but I'd just eat one rather than put it in a smoothie. Generally things with seeds won't work well in a smoothie.
On the other hand, if you eat a kiwi whole and your tongue or throat still hurt then you may be allergic. I love kiwis but eat them only occasionally because I have a weird reaction afterwards.0 -
My allergist told me to microwave fruit for 30 seconds and then cool it back down if you are allergic. This breaks down the protein causing the allergy apparently.1

I should add that my fruit allergy is actually a pollen related allergy.0
