Hi!...That is great motivation to get your life back. I'm at 274 currently and looking to lose about 124 lbs. My only motivation is to live better. I live constantly worrying about my appearance, my back, my pain, my lack of comfortable sleeping, and the fear of not being able to take care of my sick husband. I have to do this. -- What sort of diet or exercise plan are you following? I'm doing Keto. I had great success with it a few years ago. I had lost 45 lbs in 4 months, but then he got sick and I just quit taking care of myself. Anyway, I would love to do this with you!14

We can do this!!!! I’m so proud of you!!!! It’s a lot to take care of a sick loved one and still care for yourself. I’m here for you! I have a week in and lost 9.3 lbs by doing Keto and intermittent fasting. We CAN do this! My goal weight is 155 lbs and I will get there. I’m hoping to lose 50lbs by my birthday (3/11). You will lose 124 lbs.... I have not started any rigorous work out regimen yet. Just walking a lot and taking the stairs. I barely did any walking yesterday...😭 but I’m still feeling good. Reach out to me anytime!7

Hello. I'm a single mother of 3. 48years old, 165 current weight. I've lost 20 so far, but it's been super slow. I have torn acl's (yep, both knees) so hard core exercise is not an option for me. It took months just to get knee braces. I can walk ok now, but not for long. As far as diet goes, I'm looking for a blend of info from different sources. For example, I like some green juice recipes, so I'm using those for snacks sometimes. I really like some of the whole 30 /paleo meals so I plan those for dinner. On occasion I'll have a smoothie or protein shake for lunch or breakfast. And am reading about good carbs vs bad carbs. Since you can't just cut all carbs, your body needs them too. What's working for me ago far because of the lack of exercise is planning and sticking to 1200 calories, higher in protein but still a good%good carb. Adjusting family meals is why I have to plan. We all eat the same things, I can't afford to do anything else. My luxury splurge was bone broth protein mix and marine collagen. Other than that it's all store bought foods. Oh, and gluten free since I have one child who's celiac.
So I'd love to face this daunting challenge with others too. So hard to do it alone.7 -
I am in. I need to lose at least 60 pounds. I have been trying since January 2 but have only lost 3 pounds!! I have really cut way back but still not hitting all my food goals per day but not terrible. I have been working out most days but I don't count those calories because I want a deficit. but still no budging. I am 5'3" and 198 my highest was 215. I had gotten down to 177 last year but gained it all back in the lat 8 months.5

@Reine2019 we have the same weight loss goal! We are going to crush this!!!3

@Jelly8035 wow thanks for sharing. You can do a search online for exercises you can do while sitting down. You can do leg raises, arm raises, side bends, etc. when I find it I’ll post the link. We can do this! Just take it one day at a time. What is your goal weight? How much are you looking to lose? We have your back!0

@Butterball4679 a good idea is to keep a good journal for everything you eat and drink (like what we do on here but make sure your are looking at all the macros) That way you can catch those extra pesky calories..... switch up your workouts to “trick” your body... to get more results.... you can do this!2

I’m turning 50 in a few weeks and don’t recognize myself. I’m glad to have this group, hopefully we can all inspire each other and destroy our goals!!3

Count me in! I'm 46, now at 211 and trying to get down to 130, although it's really 'healthy and feeling good,' whatever that ends up as. For very similar reasons - single mom, don't know if I'm gonna be here for my kids if I don't start taking care of myself better.

I was doing Keto but it didn't work for my body. Going back to Whole30 where I was able to keep off 18 pounds from last year. I am 37 and 276 pounds. Going to get down to 190. I have to work on portion control. I can workout with the best of them.3

I’m 32 and weigh 262. I’m a mom of 4 and want to lose weight to be able to play with them outside more. Just bending over to make a snowman with them made me short of breath and I had to leave it to my husband to do. I work night shift and it’s hard not to snack while working. I started this journey on 1-09 and I’m hoping to lose some good weight before our anniversary cruise in August. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I take the stairs at work as much as I can but I’m always winded and I thought after 2 years of doing it that it would get easier but it hasn’t. I’m doing this alone and it’s already starting to get hard to keep on track, Im hoping being in a group will help more.5

@devriesna I totally understand.... my biggest issues were no time and no energy.... The two most important things needed to stay disciplined and prep your food. We will all lose weight together. You’re not alone on MFP. You can do this! Very soon I will start posting messages and pics... stay encouraged!2

@RoxyWhoShrinkyDink and you will! I have 120lbs to lose and have already shed 9.3 in my first week! We are on our way!3

Hi. I'm suffering from stupid smart phone lol. I'm having trouble posting... it could be me though. I'd like to be 165. I don't know of I can go lower but I'd be happy with that. This week I hit the "maximum" recommended weight for an exercise ball. 264. I've got a set of stretchy bands so I'm now doing a sit fit routine. I have been able to do limited tai chi. Can't hold the squat without braces, so I stand mostly.
Thanks for the encouragement. People who've never had to lose over 100 just don't understand how hard everything is, without injury.

Hello, Escape Committee: Here is my plan- take as long as I want, but never, never, no, never ever give one ounce lost, back to this house I live in. That’s it. That’s my plan. I’ll nibble, lick, drink, sniff and savor anything I want anytime I want - but I will not go past the day’s food diary, calorie goal. Ever. Just one more. Just give me one more ounce lost and I will never let it back in, until the day I die. Pinky Swear.2

Interesting philosophy! Everything in moderation.... you speak to my belief that we should never diet because that means when it’s over you resort back to what out the pounds on in the first place or you’re confused as to how to move forward. A healthy lifestyle is just making those wise eating and exercise choices, never depriving yourself but never indulging .....

Hello all, I’d love to join your group! I’m 42, mom of 3, and I currently weigh 267. This is the second time I’ve reached this weight... my highest. Last time was 18 years ago. While it was not good then, it’s certainly feels worse with age. I’ve always struggled, lost some weight, self sabatoge, and repeat. I’m currently under a lot of stress (like most people) and food is my go to. Of course, we all know it only makes you feel worse after, but I can’t seem to get it under control. So here I am. Trying to take control of my life back, and maybe even make some new friends along the way! 😊 My goal is 160, which I haven’t seen since high school, and I really don’t have a set time frame. I just want to feel better in my own skin.3

Think of it as Food Storage. Use a little of it everyday. Just a little. Where you are, isn't as important as, who you know you are. I know lots of thinner folks that I would not want to be like) You and I are not hungry; we just like chewing, and chewing all the time. So chew. Just chew on anything that you can have a whole lot of and before you know it, you are off to something else in you life. We can do this. Ask PecaBonitas; we can do this. Onward!1

Flavor Explosion- from Costco, Tassa Red Roasted Peppers. About three, Julianned. Ten assorted Baby Bell Peppers...couple or three little broccoli and three egg omelette. Fixed in this amazing pan- Cooks Companion. Nothing burns! Sensational! Going to bed with 200 unused calories in the food diary. And that’s after an Ensure/Canada Dry diet Ginger Ale ice drink. Ahhhhhhh....!! Let’s go! We can do this!!...1
