  • I’m in. I need something to hold me motivated. I want to lose 40lbs (the sooner the better...but at least by my 25th birthday in August). I know if I get the first twenty off, I will be more motivated to keep going!

I went up by .8lb this week. Not sure, but it could be water weight because of TOM and recently starting back on strength training (super sore lately) or rebound from all the excess I lost while I was sick. I won’t find out until I can weigh in again the second week of January.

I’m going to do my best but it makes me a touch nervous to go so long without scale feedback. Maybe I rely on it too much. 🤔

I thought the uptick in my last weigh in was hormonal water weight and looks like that was just what happened. I did a lot better on vacation than I thought I did and running 3 times a week really seemed to help.

My weight will go up again next week because of the lovely hormonal trials of my gender (insert eyeroll here), but the week after that I think I should reach my mini goal for this challenge.

I bought a stationary bike to give myself more options during the time I can’t get outside and run as often as I want! So hopefully that will help me keep on target through the spring.

Hope everyone is doing well and surviving the winter with SAD. I’ve managed to avoid it so far this year and it’s usually a big issue for me. 🤞🏻

So interesting... I upped my exercise routine and found I'm MUCH less hungry! Check out this research that might explain it:
    https://www.shape.com/fitness/tips/exercise-makes-you-less-hungry-says-new-study

Not sure I'll make 20lbs by Feb. 1st, but I made it through the holidays w/o too much damage and I'm down 13.7 lbs. 🤗

I’m inclined to agree there’s something to that. I very rarely feel like eating for a while after a run. Even if I had to go out really early and skipped breakfast, I normally end up waiting and having a late lunch because I’m not hungry. I don’t get the same benefit from my walks, but I figure at least I’m not eating WHILE I walk so it’s got to be helping some right? ;-)

My husband, however, acts like a starved lion after a run. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Congratulations on your loss and successful holiday navigation! 😁

I made my 20! Now I am officially 20lbs out from 145, when I plan to reassess whether I should lose more or shift to recomp and maintenance. 145 is still on the higher end of the healthy range for me, but if I’m feeling happy there I don’t mind. 10 more pounds lost and I will be into the healthy weight category for the first time in at least 6 years, super stoked to be counting down to that now.
