Jman, I believe another member suggested this as well, FB may be a good place for support. The easy answer is always "calories in, calories out" here, but if you have done your homework on IF you know it is bigger than that. Sadly there is no 1 size fits all approach to weight/fat loss, so we all have to find what works for us. This 50ish menopausal chick that is quite active (running/ weight training/ spin class/ yoga) could not shed the 20 extra pounds I had accumulated over a few years. I tracked my food, I weighed my food etc and it was not budging. I eat now just as many calories as I did with the extra 20 and I lost it and have kept it off for 3 years now. I let go of processed foods, reduced my sugar intake and bumped up my fats then added in some IF and it works for me.

I have done my homework, been personally doing IF 16:8 for decades now and I can definitely say that it really IS always about CICO. However you wish to achieve it.

I gained my extra weight on IF, lost it on IF and am now maintaining it on IF. IF, in and of itself, does not have any extra benefits that aren't governed by CICO.

PS: I'm 65, lost 75 lbs by simply eating less and moving more and have been in maintenance for several years now.
