Are you getting any data to track if you are retaining muscle?
You'll get a lot of woo's for "losing too fast" on here.
I did every 2 weeks tests on a latest gen. Inbody... always first thing a.m. after rest day, same clothes, etc etc
It showed 30 lbs lost in 100 days and only 0.7 lbs of muscle loss; which I am super proud of. 21 lbs of fat loss and 8.3 lbs of water drop.
Don't mind the naysayers, but you also want to be sure you're losing the RIGHT weight. Muscle takes 10 times longer to build than fat does to lose, so do the math and decide what rate of loss meets your really long term goal before you starve yourself.
I hope to God you're doing some kind of weight lifting routine.4 -

I’m not doing any weight lifting right now. I dont see how people can think I’m losing too fast when I’m 428lbs.2 -
428 lbs is a special circumstance. That seems like a reasonable rate of loss3

I thought I said it in my other post somewhere. Whoops.2 -

I don't think having a 2 year deadline is a problem. That's a reasonable goal.2 -
y'all are mean for just wooing something that i'm proud of so i'm just gonna forget this community and just use mfp on my own without any of your support0

Good luck on your journey...0

Wooing you can just mean that people disagree with you. Is that all right? I didn't woo you, but everyone wants you to think about how to lose weight safely--the right way. Don't resist all the good advice you got on your last thread. Good luck.3 -

I think you would do well to consider how you can approach your weight loss a little less emotionally. You have a large amount of weight to lose. It won't all come off this quickly. People are just trying to help prepare you for some of the frustrations that inevitably accompany long-term weight loss.4 -
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. But be prepared to fix it before you’re finished. There don’t seem to be any weight loss direct flights.
Not tech savvy enough for a link but if you use the search feature to look for GoaD (Guys On A Diet) you might like it there. I think there’s a drop down box to join the group.

Also a lot of people think the woo is positive, like woo-hoo. You really need to not fly off the handle and read everything on an Internet forum so personally. Most of the people here are just trying to help you.
There are hundreds of new posts everyday, we can't all remember the stats of every poster we've read before. It's always good to include relevant numbers in your new posts as a reminder.
Congrats on your success so far.6 -
How are you doing this??0

Round it to 9 weeks that's 3.3 lbs a week.
At 428 lbs that's a 0.77% loss per week.
So it's like a 200 lb person losing 1.5 lbs a week.
Its a standard loss by most calculations.1 -
At 7 weeks it's 4.28 lbs which is exactly 1% per week. Which is the beginning border of an aggressive loss.
Also consider that a 428 lb person loses far more water than a 200 lb person when cutting carbs.1 -

So how is he doing it?? what is he doing to lose the weight?0 -
Everybody does the exact same thing to lose weight
He eats less calories.0 -
How many calories?0
-
Approximately 2200 a day0

so when he stops losing weight at 135 kg if he's lucky how many calories will he drop down to?0

you might want to start your own thread with all these questions, instead of taking over someone else's. Just a suggestion.1 -
Silent_Soliloquy wrote: »Approximately 2200 a day
I eat around 1500 a day.0 -

Bear in mind you'd want to eat a little more than your BMR, since you BMR is what your body would burn if you were in a coma. This site uses NEAT, which is Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis and includes your day-to-day activitys minus exercise.0 -

He's eating WAY below his needs. When you eat less than your body needs, you lose weight. Plug your stats into MFP, pick a reasonable rate of loss (1lb/week is usually pretty good to start, 2lb/week is usually for someone 100+ overweight) and eat to that number.2 -
^^ absolutely, I was just trying to help him get a simple vaseline to answer his question. At the higher weight (150kg+) BMR overestimates a hair and we know his activity is not high. So it seemed a reasonable link0

The calories he eats will be different than the calories you should eat, and the lbs per week will be different. Unless you are also 400+ lbs and have the same activity level he does.
In short, I feel confident he's doing it by eating at a very aggressive calorie deficit. Because of his size, he has a much higher TDEE than average and can eat at a much higher deficit than most.4 -

I have read, per Kevin hall... you need to reduce caloric intake roughly 100 cals for 10lbs lost and hoped to maintain. Now this is not exact, my old weight maintenance at 400lbs would be 4200 for sedentary. I now eat 3000-3700. When you lose weight some of us become more active and burn more cals.0
