Loose skin while losing weight

Hello Friends,

My weight is currently 107kg and my height is 168cm.

I'm trying to lose only around 1kg per week. And I intend to reach my ideal weight of 80kg.

Do I face the risk of having loose skin when I reach 80kg?

Loose skin is largely genetics but losing weight too quickly can contribute also. With only about 59lbs/26kg to lose total 1kg/2lb/week is a little too much. Drop it down to 0.5kg/1lb a week.

Genetics and age are big factors in how much or if you will have loose skin at the end. I don't really think losing weight slowly will help with the amount of loose skin you end up with in the end (after a couple years of maintenance), but it MAY help you look better during the weight loss as you are giving the skin more time to adjust.
Gaining the weight is what stretched the skin though, so any "damage" is already done.
Losing slowly is still preferable though and safer.
Don't worry about the possibility of loose skin because you really can't know how much if any you are going to have, and don't let the fear of loose skin stop you from losing the weight and being healthier.

i've lost 40lbs in about 14 months so far and I have loose skin, Keep in mind I already had loose skin on my belly from having a child, but I see loose skin on the back of my legs. I've done weight training throughout so I know my genetics are not helping me right now.
