What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

I wanna be hot.4

My boyfriend got together with me when I was only a few pounds lighter than now, 3 years ago, morbidly obese, BMI over 50, and he makes me feel attractive and loved. He's been with me through my worst, physically and mentally, I'd like him to get to have me at my best too. He's been an amazing support to me, I know he loves me even at this size, but I know me being smaller would be nice for him!
If we do end up getting married in the future, I'd like to be smaller. I don't care about being slim, but there's fat and there's super fat.
On a non-petty life planning note, if I ever have kids I want the obesity cycle (most people both sides of my family) to stop with me. It's the 1 thing I feel my mum failed in as a parent, so it's the one thing I'd want to do better. I think you can do that when overweight, even obese, but it gets harder the bigger you are.28 -
Ooh, another I have is that I am currently having to buy size 16 (UK) clothes.
I am absolutely NOT carrying on with that!!!!7 -
I want people to see I have self-control. I want them to envy me and wish they could do it. Right now I'm the one without self control.11

Petty reason: To be a hot wife!! I want my husband to be proud and love showing me off to his friends/coworkers. I want to look good at family functions, "Yeah I have a toddler, a baby and work full time.... still rocking it!"8

I want to know what I am supposed to look like. I have no idea what I look like as a fit adult. I was fit for like 10 minutes when I was 19 and now I'm 32.
It's not the most petty, but it feels that way because my much more wholesome reasons don't motivate me nearly as much. That's the one I hold on to.13 -
I want to be able to wrap a normal towel around me after I have a shower! Such a stupid thing but the last time I could do that I was in college 18 years ago17

I want to be the hottest mom at the pool this summer 😬11

My name is Val and my younger sister used to call me "The Big Valley", when we were kids, mostly because of the TV show but as an overweight adult it isn't funny anymore and I cringe whenever I hear it. Yeah it's totally a mental thing but I'd like to brush it off someday. It's not as much petty as it is a Peeve.10

This one is actually pretty petty, but my mother-in-law likes to make remarks about "being fat" when you're not doing some crazy diet like whole30 (she means not eating "on plan", I think) and I want to prove to her that counting calories is much more sustainable and reasonable.
She has regained 20 pounds since her rounds of whole30, but I've continued to maintain and have started losing again since the holidays. (7 pounds to go to goal, woot!)
It's also hard to live with someone constantly watching for you to regain the weight you worked hard to lose, just because that's how it's been in their life. She likes to casually mention, "it seems like if you're not losing, you're gaining."
I should, and probably will, just let it go. I try to not talk about diets around her, but she likes to bring it up.22 -
Super petty: my spouse is insanely attractive (people give him their numbers all the time, even when I am sitting with him). I don't want people to wonder why he is with me.32

Im never a jealous person, but for some reason theres just one girl who (she doesn't know i do this) but i constantly compare myself to her and am competing with her in my mind. If she got fat and sloppy i dont think i would care about my fitness 😬9

I had a baby 5 months ago and ate my fair share of junk during my pregnancy and would joke about it at work. I haven’t seen my co-workers since I started trying to loose weight at the beginning of Dec so when I see them next I’d like to have lost the weight and maybe have some nice tone from going to the gym. I also want to rock a 2 piece bathing suit this summer, I never thought I’d wear one again.9

Oh this is me!
Baby #2 is almost 5 months and Id love to return to work looking good and feeling assertive - I feel like I can achieve more when I feel attractive and strong/fit.
Also my coworker (and his lovely wife ) are both v high achieving and attractive and it’d be nice not to be the dumpy one.....

Not sure how "petty" this is, but I don't think I've ever been thin. Ever. Even when I was born I was a little over 11 pounds, and as a young kid I was maybe a little chubby before finally really starting a large weight gain around age 9 or 10. I'd like to see myself at a normal weight range for the first time in my life. I'd also like my dad to see me at a normal weight, because sometimes I think he silently worries about me being so heavy.17

I want to rock a Power Ranger outfit17

To make my butt look good in my wedding dress to spite my mother. I have wide hips and thighs and a narrow waist. Always have. My mother, heavy herself, always has berated my hips, thighs, and butt. I bought a mermaid ish style wedding dress, which the rest of my family and I love, that she does not. So I am working to get healthy and make sure my butt looks good in that dress.20

My petty reason is that the guy I'm dating is tall and slim and I hate looking like a short round thing next to him.8

Lol..That's so sad and pathetic. I mean.. That's a great compliment for you, but pathetic on their part.5 -
To spite the heck out of my ex boyfriend. Who never wanted to get married unless I was a size 6. I am now married to the right guy and I'm loosing weight so he can have the woman the ex wanted. (He cares nothing about size but I want the right guy to be proud).23
