Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: 12 hour night shifts are having the unexpected effect of lowering my intake on those days and briefly afterwards - finding the opportunity and appetite to eat was more difficult. I was still fitting in exercise and keeping active, which resulted in around a 3500 calorie deficit over only three days. My balance over the remainder of the week was also negative, even including a day in which I went significantly over to try to catch up a bit. It wasn't surprising to see this reflected on the scale. Moving forward, I think I'll add in some additional healthy, calorie-dense foods (another helping of nuts/seeds, maybe) to keep this from becoming a longer trend.
Success-wise, I've hit a 260-day streak of getting at least 10K steps.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Weight down over last week, finally recovered from the all nightery water retention.
Out of town business guest cause me to miss exercise for two days I normally due it and an extravagant business dinner one night. We also had breakfast lunch and treats served in the office for three straight days. I tracked and logged but obvious could not weight my food or portions. I think I did just fine.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I’ve been an endurance athlete for a couple years now. After my last Tough Mudder obstacle course race in October, I took my first real break from training/racing. Picked up again about a month ago and was very disheartened at how much my performance dropped - I struggled to do 2 miles on the treadmill...
Fast forward to this past week. On Sunday, I ran 8 miles and felt really good afterward! Yesterday, I ran 5 miles, biked 15 miles and walked the dogs 4 miles - I also got in a strength training session and yoga! Feeling good. Feeling like I’m back in the game, mentally and physically. Looking forward to my first race of 2019 at the end of March. I’ll be ready for it! Just had to keep the mindset positive and trust that with continued practice I would get back to my normal level of performance. I’m not there YET, but I’m well on my way!!!
(P.S. plus my weight went back down a little - hooray! Back in range!)

Did a couple of days with lots of walking though, including one day of hiking with about 20k steps, so I expect that my weight should trend downwards again next week. Not too bad considering I ate out for about half the week.10 -

Successes/struggles: Not too much to say about this week. Not been the most balanced food-wise (some days way under calories and some over) but that’s mostly been circumstantial as work has been super busy and stressful. One win from the week - managed to shave 3 minutes off my time running my long route and hit fastest 5k and fastest mile records according to my Garmin. This is huge for me - still can’t quite believe I’m running at all, let alone for 50 minutes in one go and actually making progress with my speed and distance! It still amazes me that I’ve been able to get into running at the grand old age of 40, having always thought I hated it.
Got a week off work now for half term (UK teacher) so need to make sure I keep up the activity without all the usual work steps and walking commute.

The weight "loss" is water weight fluctuation, I think, not a "real" loss. But. I will pay attention and make adjustments as necessary as I really don't want to lose more.
So far maintenance has not been a problem. I am slowly (maybe too slowly) adding back calories, but still focusing on eating healthy. Major focus niw is fitness. Hit my goal of three 2-min planks (oh my, they are a challenge) and am meeting with a personal trainer on Wednesday.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I didn't gain weight on birthday! That's a huge success for me cause I ate a LOT of cheesecake... On Thursday I donated blood for the first time in my life The bad part of this that later that they I fainted cause I didn't drink/eat enough after it... So it was quite a bad day for me, I didn't do any workouts since then cause I've felt very exhausted and weak, and I also didn't track my calories this weekend, so I probably ate over my maintenance, but I don't really mind gaining a bit of weight cause the last 2 weeks my weight was a bit lower than it is comfortable for me.13 -
I understand the worries going in to donate blood, hippiesaur. I've had success by always getting in my workout earlier in the day (since you really ought to have a 24-hour break afterwards) and making sure to have some simple carbs before and afterwards. It's a good excuse to sit at the table for a while and have some cookies as a well-earned reward.4

Successes/struggles: My weight is maintaining/decreasing - hooray! My struggle is still overeating sugar items when they are in my house. I made brownies for a dinner party for friends and ate reasonably during the party but continued to overeat them the next day until they were gone. In the future, I think I need to give away or throw away the extra treats once the party is over.9 -

Success of the week: My scale stayed within my maintenance range four days this week. My trending weight has continued to stay in my maintenance range for over three weeks.
Struggle of the week: My scale weight was over my maintenance range three days this week.
In reality, the trend since June has looked like a modified sine wave that is moving around the top of my maintenance range. So in one way, I am maintaining quite well. It's just that it's a few pounds more than I want that maintenance to be.
In the shorter term (month), I am ever so slowly losing, so I will be maintianing closer to my goal and soon never getting out of my goal range.

Just a heads-up to everyone who posts their updates, I'm coming to join you beginning with the March 2019 topic thread. 173 days since beginning my current fitness, health and wellness journey, I'm proclaiming victory and have crossed my finish line. 33 lbs. less although 0.8 lbs. over my initial weight goal, I'll be there and extra by March 1st and am setting a 5-lb. maintenance range.

Success / Struggles: Good week overall. Using the exercise bike as walks are not really possible with the ice here right now. I've been working out before breakfast for a change, and I find I am much less likely to "eat back the calories" with the morning workouts. I've been much more careful with my food choices lately. I did indulge in some Valentine's chocolate, but I didn't go crazy with it.11 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Want to drop a few pounds? Get a root canal with a wiley temporary crown! Eating will be such a bother....so my weight is down this weekend, probably due to my dental issues.
Life has been fighting to keep me out of the gym. Dental appointments, colds, kid's illnesses, kid's appointments, schedule issues...I decided to fight back today, I made it. I made it work. Still not enough days in the week though, with rests between full body workouts and whatnots.11 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: It was like the homerun derby at work this week - I was hitting all the balls out of the park and came out looking like the best player on the team. Used that opportunity to have a fantastic 1:1 with my boss about new opportunities on the horizon.
Share all this because my eating habits and exercise routine were also absolutely amazing this week. Not sure if it’s just that the stars were aligned or that the three things are related (betting the latter), but I know I feel like a million bucks right now. Have it on calendar tomorrow to run my first 10-mile run since October and I’m actually EXCITED for it. That’s a good sign that I’m back in my own good graces. I was in a really funky headspace back in December and half of January. Don’t miss it at all!

Success: Eating pretty close to maintenance now, after gradually adding back calories. Am considering "banking" a few calories 5 days a week to allow for a couple of special days a week.
Struggle: headed off today for a week at my sister's which means increased stress and decreased exercise. Will be a challenge to stay on plan, but an excellent learning opportunity

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Night time will power in general has slipped over the last few months. Was maintaining at 200 for 3 months, would slip under occasionally (goal was 199 originally from 232). Did most of the weight loss with Nutrisystem breakfast and lunch and Home Chef dinners early evenings and staying away from night snacks. Now that has become a BATTLEGROUND again. Want/need to get back to 195-200 instead of 200-205.10 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Successfully nutritionally navigated a trip out to see eldest son at college last weekend. Otherwise, it was an average week - which I'm enjoying. It's nice when habits become ingrained and become the new normal.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I would call this past week just consistent. Not sure why the weight is up, except I did 90 minutes of exercise Thursday and then lifted weights last night. Could be water. Still at the bottom of my range though I am adjusting range now to 150-160 pounds. I decided I don’t want to go over 160 and really haven’t since September 2018.
