Don't eat it. You can push your meals to later. If the problem is you don't like typical breakfast foods, just eat anything else.19

If you don't like typical breakfast foods, you might consider Asian breakfast.

If you don't like it, why would you eat it? Just skip it.2
-
There is no reason you need to push yourself to eat breakfast, unless you find yourself getting hungry or weak later and have no time to eat then. Even in that case, a protein bar, for example could tide you over.3
-
Just use the calories you would typically use for breakfast later in the day, it's fine to skip breakfast. The only people telling the world breakfast is the most important meal of the day is cereal companies.

You don't *have* to eat breakfast and even if you felt the need to, it doesn't *have* to be breakfast foods.5
-
Forget the whole "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" crap. It's true that filling up the proverbial gas tank before a long trip is useful but it isn't absolutely necessary as long as you fill up at some point.
That is more likely a better explanation for breakfast. Some people must have it and others do just fine without it.
Myself for example. I get up quite early, around 4:00 AM and don't eat something until around 9:00 AM. I typically don't feel hungry until later in the morning and that's on top of going to the local swimming pool and "water walking" for upwards of 2 hours 5 days a week.
My wife is the same. She's usually up around 6:00 AM and doesn't actually eat until after 9:00 AM or later.4 -
Breakfast is technically the first meal you eat, doesn't matter if it's 6 am or 6 pm or what foods you choose. Listen to your body and eat nutritious foods that you enjoy when you are hungry.5
-
Same! 2 cups of coffee and I’m good until lunch1
-
I hate it too! But if I skip it outright I always get hungry before lunch. I like to "drink" my breakfast by having Kefir (like yogurt) so that it's super quick and easy, and doesn't feel like food lol. If I skip that, I'll usually bring an apple or something to have as a mid-morning snack.0

What don't you like about breakfast? Is it the typical foods or eating at that time of day? If it is the foods, then eat something else like you would have for lunch or dinner. Eat whatever you want. If it is the time of day, then don't eat until later like others have said.2

^^ This.
OP, if you'd like to eat something in the morning, do it. Just because we label the morning hours of the day we eat "breakfast" does not dictate what the food is.1 -
If you are not a breakfast person, save your calories for later in the day. I hate eating early in the morning. A cup of coffee and I am good to go till noon. Don't fall victim to the "shoulds".... of weight loss. The same thing doesn't work for everyone. We are all wired differently, and what might be "right" for one person may not be "right" for you. Good luck on your journey!!2

Breakfast literally means breaking your fast...whatever your first meal of the day is is technically breakfast...that being said I don’t eat traditional breakfast foods - I may have chicken and vegetables; or barley (on my higher carb days)2

I've been told by the dietitian, nutritionist & doctors (pcp, gastastral & cardiologist) to "eat breakfast". UGH!!! 😣
I'm not a breakfast person. I like breakfast foods, but dont feel like getting something around when I get up, especially when I have "things to do" like laundry, etc.
Their suggestions were .....
☆ Protein shakes (way to expensive). Carnation Instant Breakfast (much cheaper).
☆ Protein 3-4 oz.
☆ An egg, even if it was hard boiled the day before.
☆ Yogurt.
☆ Best thing --> They said: "You don't have to think if it as 'breakfast' nor do you 'need' to eat as soon as you get up." Here's what made the difference for me. They said: "Eat something, that I like, within the first 2 hours if getting up. It don't have to be much, nor does it need to be breakfast food."
Our bodies need the energy (food) to burn throughout the day. It's best to eat 5 to 6 small meals to keep the proper fuel burning in our bodies, just like keeping a log on the fire to keep it burning. When we sleep, our bodies are at rest & the fire turns to ambers or goes out & needs to be rekindled in the morning.
Since my heat attack in December, I'm learning healthier earring & better earring habits. It takes time & a lot of it. I take my meds between 7:00 & 8:00 am & generally eat a low sodium yogurt. I never been a big yogurt eater, but most morning I've been enjoying Dannon's Light & Fit Yogurts (been on sale) the Strawberry & Banana & the Peach are my favorites.
😊 Sorry so lengthy ~ but ~ Hope this helps much better then all of the remarks to just skip breakfast or use those calories later in the day. 👍

Once a week I sit down for an hour and make 5-7 mason jars of salad
I use head lettuce - spinach - kale- bok choy - raddish- celery- carrots etc
and SOME TYPE OF BEAN Chic peas - five bean - kidney beans etc
I us and olive oil and apple cider home made vinegar
In order to keep everything crunchy put your sald dressing in the mason jar first - then add the ingredients you want in - make sure the salad stays on the top
When you are ready shake the jar so the dressing is mixed and voila
a tasty salad that is crispy and fast.
Usually I eat it for breakfast adding an egg - back bacon or some other type of protein Normally I am full till dinner

Your dietitian and nutritionists are stuck in the 90's... There is no physical reason to eat breakfast (outside of a couple of medical conditions). You also don't need to eat 5-6 meals to 'keep the fires burning' - our metabolisms are running 24/7 - if your metabolism stops running ('the fire goes out') then eating frequently will be the least of your worries. Our bodies have evolved to store fat when we eat excess calories and to burn fat when we don't - constantly eating does not change that nor does it keep the metabolism 'revved' up.7 -
Just skip breakfast. I have coffee and some creamer for breakfast so that I can have more calories for lunch and dinner. It helps keep me on track.3

I'm in the same boat, the thought of eating after waking up actually turns my stomach. I normally eat at around 11am but some days I may have a protein bar earlier0

Is it "breakfast food" that you hate, or are you just not into food at all when you get up? If it's the former, you can eat anything you want, prepped ahead of time if you are trying to get out the door and on with your day. If you're not into food when you get up, just eat when you get around to it. Some people find eating within an hour or two of getting up for the day helps with energy and also with portion control later on. Some find just the opposite. I've been in both places and at the moment, eating with a couple of hours of arising and having some combination of food that results in a fairly substantial protein, high fiber meal is working best for me for now. Could change when the weather gets warmer.0

Breakfast is important so don't skip it. Maybe just do a plant based protein shake or eat raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Just because you cram calories in at 1 or 2 meals and stay at your goal doesn't mean you're healthy eating. Wake up drink a glass of water immediately eat something light fruit or veggies if you don't want scrambled eggs and avocado go get ready drink a plant based protein shake and go start your day. Your fitness will thank you8

I feel ya- but I’m an RN on a busy floor, and if I don’t eat breakfast or SOMETHING, that means I won’t eat anything until 2 or 3 in the afternoon most of the time, and by then I’m crashing. (Cue all the reasons why my metabolism got jacked up). But those *early* mornings are impossible for a sit down breakfast even if you wanted it. I go with a breakfast shake or protein shake for in the car, and pre-make/freeze egg bites and Greek yogurt to pop in between patient care, whether I want to eat or not. Find something that works for you, but remember your body is a machine and needs fuel- don’t risk it by always driving with the fuel light on! ⛽️0

I love leftover spaghetti for breakfast. I don't like traditional morning foods either - no bacon, eggs, and prefer my French toast for dinner. I usually have a granola bar or an orange. On Fridays I get a bean and cheese taco.0

No, it isn't and it doesn't mean that you are not eating healthy either.3 -
I'm not really a breakfast eater myself. I usually just have a cup of coffee, black or with heavy cream, in the morning. And on the days I'd like something sweet too in the morning, I have a banana or a plain baked sweet potato along with my coffee with heavy cream.0

You dont have to eat breakfast if you are not hungry. Have some tea, coffee, or water. If you dont like typical breakfast foods, eat dinner foods or leftovers for breakfast if youre hungry.
Sometimes in the morning I crave sweeter foods and make overnight oats with apples, cinnamon, almond milk, and a little brown sugar.
Usually I crave savory foods and eat eggs or potatoes. Plus fruit, always1 -
Skip it! Consider it part of intermittent fasting?

What is it you can't stand? Time of day? Type of food?
A lot of people can't stand a traditional eating pattern because they no longer live traditional lives. Once it was normal for many homes to sit down and eat three meals together every day. The first one obviously was breakfast. Now no one seems to eat together anymore, nor to prepare any meals in their house.
So, what is it actually that you hate??0
