What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

One of my reasons is probably more mental than petty. Losing so someone would find me attractive enough to actually make me their wife.26

My reasons to maintain are to keep fitting into my extra small clothes and my size 4-6 jeans and miniskirts and minidresses and all of the skintight workout gear that I wear and to look good in all of it and to keep getting checked out. As long as men aren’t leering, disgusting or nasty about it, I don’t mind being checked out. I also want to maintain my flat stomach and thinner thighs. I have a picture of one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels as my phone’s wallpaper to help motivate me. That’s my ultimate body goal.
I also refuse to be the crap stereotype of the fat American.6 -
I want to be the “hot mom of 3” at the beach again...instead of feeling like a beach whale.🤷🏻♀️12

I’ve always felt chubby and struggled with self-image issues my whole life and as an adult it’s even worse. I want to feel 100% comfortable with me and happy with me.10

I thoroughly and passionately hate myself for weighing more than my husband does.18

Oh, and another one--I'm disabled from a car accident. I don't like having it assumed that the ONLY reason I use a cane is that I'm too fat to walk. On bad days if I have to use a motorized shopping cart, I don't want it assumed that I'm just being lazy and don't want to put forth the effort to walk around in the store.12

This was me too until my husband gained weight and then we both felt gross.
My superficial reason is to be able to shop at the local thrift store. Somehow all the nice clothes are size 6 or 8. The bigger you get, the more ratty and out-of-date they are. I think the Target donates new clothes so the size 8s still have tags on them.6 -
Sex!! My husband won't talk about it but it doesn't happen anymore and think my weight has a lot to do with no action. Pissed off about the situation.14

UGH I didn't weigh more than him when we started dating but now I do ! I am on a mission now to be smaller than him again6 -
I recently changed my goal weight from 150 to 149? Why? The scale at my gym is one of those old-fashioned Detecto beam scales that you see a lot in doctor's offices. You slide the bottom weight to either 100, 150, 200, and so on. Then you fine tune by sliding the smaller weight on top. I want to be able to move the bottom weight to the "100" slot. Now, that's petty!34

I have gone through several petty reasons to lose weight and none of them ever stuck. So my number one reason now is my health. But out of all my reasons, the pettiest one is so I can go in any store and pretty much know I'll be able to find everything in my size instead of being limited to a much smaller plus size section that still never has my size.8

This is the type of scale I use at home! It’s in my closet, I don’t trust those electronic ones, I prefer good old physics! Anyway just moving the bottom weight to just 100 and not 150 is not petty, when it happened for me I danced around the house for a good half hour!17 -

Congratulations on moving that bottom weight. I have a Renpho digital scale at home. A lot of times, I'll come home from the gym and step on it to compare to what I weighed at the gym. It's always on the money!

I want to look good naked. Plus, after having lived in California, I'm tired of being told "You're fat for California."
OMG—I feel you! I live in SoCal and it’s hard here as the beauty expectations are so high and so inaccessible for most of us. Don’t get me started on dating ....6 -
