Amazing job!!! Congratulations on almost 200 lbs lost!1 -
I finally hit the 200 lbs lost milestone this month and to celebrate I went Hiking with my brother and sister in law.
This was a hike that would have been impossible for me to make two years ago, 200 lbs heavier.
I am so grateful for the freedom I've gained and I'm looking forward to many more hikes in the future!

Hello everyone, just popping in to give an update on my journey as we near the end of 2019...
This year I got down to around 220 lbs lost. I hit that around May and at that time I had some life events that were pretty stressful including moving. I seem to not handle change well so it’s been a struggle since then with a lot of yoyoing and some return of old behaviours such as binge eating. I’m not hiding my head in the sand about it and I’m trying to work on the root issues that lead to that behaviour so I know I’m not back where I was a few years ago but it’s been scary to see the weight come back rather quickly compared to how long it took to shed it...
I’m currently at about 194 lbs lost so I regained 26 lbs. Currently I’m starting to feel better about my ability to really get back on track. But I’m trying to be reasonable this time around!
Gaining weight back and the way that made me feel with clothes not fitting and my physical and mental health just getting worse instead of better has been a good reminder why it just isn’t worth it to have that short term comfort in food and alcohol even when I’m sad or stressed.
I’m staying in MFP and tracking most days working at getting more consistent there.
My goal for now is to find a steady state and not to put too much pressure on myself to reach some number on the scale. Don’t get me wrong... I want to lose this 26 lbs! But I know that it needs to happen slowly and in a way that I can easily transition to maintenance and not feel starved and desperate once I reach that goal and then go back to the same yo-yo phase.
What I also realized this Spring and Summer when I was finally about 10 lbs away from my goal weight is that being smaller doesn’t magically mean I will have everything I want in life. That was hard to learn as I had some high hopes especially in the love department. I’m being brutally honest here because I need an outlet and I’m not sure if many people would see this but those who have in the past have been nothing but kind and supportive so it feels like a safe place. ❤️
Im sure most people who have been very heavy and then lose weight have some expectations or hopes about relationships. I’ve been on my own for a long time and I’d really like to find someone special one day. But that doesn’t come easy ever, for most of us, and weight loss isn’t going to magically fix all the other reasons I’m single 😅
Anyways, thank you for reading if you’ve gotten this far. I’m not giving up on myself and I guess I’m not done growing up and learning those hard life lessons! And you know what? I’m glad for that. I am still capable of growth and maturing and learning. This means that there is room and ability to improve myself so I am the healthiest I can be, physically and mentally.
I’m forever grateful for MFP and the ongoing support I’ve found on here.
Wishing all of you happiness, health and progress towards your goals in 2020.9 -
You have come so far—-in so many ways. Not only are you changing your body for the better, but also your life. Congratulations on all you have accomplished, and best of luck with all you hope to accomplish.1
