Hi all! Newbie here! I'm so confused as to which lifestyle plan to follow. Keto has worked, but it is too restrictive for me. WW didn't work. Is there a plan that does lower carbs, but not Keto or Atkins strict? Help! Please and thank you!

I ate low carb, under 100 gr of carbs a day and my calorie allowance and lost 30 lbs in 4 months.3

why not just eat foods you enjoy in moderation?
I lost all my weight mostly ignoring macros and having zero "no go" foods or categories of food. I ate at a calorie deficit in a way i could maintain for life concentrating on foods that kept me full

And this!
Forget "plans" and just find a way to eat less than you do now and that you can stick to. It will work, I promise you.8 -
You don't have to adopt a "lifestyle". Just start logging your food and make a note of how you feel, then learn from it. What foods fill you up, what foods are a waste of calories. On days you eat more carbs or less carbs or too little protein or tons of fiber, how do you feel?
Whatever way of eating makes it easiest for you to hit your calorie goal while feeling energetic and healthy is the way to go. :drinker:7 -
Any one have an answer for me. I have a soup recipe, that i need to enter but want to break it down to 5 servings? WW had this feature is there an easy way to do the same on MFP?

It might be best to start your own thread instead of detailing several others with this question, but have you tried the recipe builder or do you mean something other than that feature?2 -
Thanks for responding.
New at this, where is recipe builder?0 -

Lifestyle plan? Why?
Is your lifestyle so dysfunctional that you need to change it?
What aspects of that lifestyle are you considering need change?
(For health a reasonable amount of general activity and exercise would seem sensible.)
Or are you using lifestyle as a synonym for diet? Is your diet nutritionally unsound or are you just eating too much?
Personally I didn't change my lifestyle at all, I just ate a bit less of the foods that I was already eating as my diet didn't need changing - it just needed to be a bit smaller for a period of months.
If you want to make that calorie cut from carbs then why not just eat less carbs in terms of smaller portions or different carb choices?5 -
One that has worked for my husband and I that my husband's dr suggested was getting the book Sonoma Diet by Connie Guttersen, it does have waves to follow and it's based on a Mediterranean diet a more low fat diet. We first read the book to understand what each vegetable and colors mean and what they do for the body before diving into the diet portion. It has really good recipes that are simple to make and we really enjoy it.0

Honestly, for me.... none of them. I just enter what I eat into MFP and stick to the daily calorie allowance it gives me. The fad diets stress me out and make my head hurt. They just aren't necessary for me to lose weight. My future after weight loss lies in managing my ability to eat all the things around me within reason. So I'm going to keep them all in my diet while I try to lose weight.3
