      Life hasn’t spent much time being kind to you, but you have not let it make you bitter. You exude a sense of kindness, strength and grace that I admire greatly. You have this ability to be kind to unkind people, but not at all like it’s a struggle or like it’s forced, but like it’s second nature to you. I think that speaks volumes about your character, and I think most often kindness is just what someone needs.

      My grandpa was the king of giving out compliments to anyone and everyone. I always psyche myself out thinking I'll just come off as creepy. Like earlier this week I was shopping for new shoes and saw a girl with a fantastic color job on her hair. I was just walking past her and i thought to myself, "Wow she has gorgeous hair." I always kick myself after for not just saying it.

      But please don't wink, linger there or touch her. Random compliments from the opposite sex need to be obvious that they are genuine and not a form of foreplay

      Southern folks were always my favorite to talk to when I worked various customer service telephone jobs. They always left you feeling better about the day and about life in general, even when they were calling because you shut off their phone because they forgot to pay their bill. It was always easy to say, "Sure, I'll get that turned right back on for ya!" All they had to do was call you sugar, hun, or sweetie.

      I use to think homesteading would be fun but after 3 weeks of no running water and no sight of it being restored soon, I've completely changed my mind. Homesteading would suck.

      I must be living under a rock! (Admittedly, I avoid the news cuz it depresses me). I live in Ohio (Cincinnati), but haven't heard about flooding in our state. Sorry you're going through all this - what area are you in?

      I was trying to make a left turn into McD's across two lanes of busy traffic. A guy not only stopped in his lane to help me cross over, but watched traffic in the other lane for me to tell me when it was safe to turn. Thanks guy!

      LOL I knew someone would be confused by this, I do live in the midwest but not Ohio, she was messing with me. The last 2 pics are really real though and it's devasting. The bottom pic is a town 5 miles from me, where I lived until a few years ago. We moved to higher ground with the last threat of a devastating flood that never happened. I do still have tons of friends and family that live/d there though and have lost almost nearly everything they worked their whole lives for and it's heartbreaking. I complain about not having running water, due water treatment plant being inundated by 6+ feet of ecoli infested river water but I can deal with that, I couldn't deal with having to start completely over. Keep in mind that the treatment plant affected is 10+ miles from the river, that's how fierce this flood was. I wasn't exaggerating when I said this spans for 100's of miles.
