JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~ ROUND 75

Goals:
I've been pretty consistent with logging, so I'd like to focus on working in more activity.
1) Walk 30+ minutes each day
2) Active gardening or household task 30+ minutes each day
3) 64-80 oz. water per day
10 days round 75
Day/Weight/Comment
04/23 – 202.8 – Gorgeous day! 60 minute walk on a moderately challenging trail, but gardening was limited to 10 minutes of deadheading daffodils before relaxing in the sun. Squeezed in some grocery shopping after the walk and got the dishes done. Not enough sleep last night, so my energy is flagging. Got my water in though. 😊
04/24 – 201.6 – Another beautiful day – blue skies, sunshine, and the lilacs are blooming! Too pretty to stay indoors, so I took the dog for a long walk in the park (75 min, paved trail). Enjoying the last of the daffodils while I deadhead like crazy. Perennials are coming in, but so are the weeds! Rain moves in Thursday evening, so I’ll double down on chores then. Extra water! Good day 😊
04/25 – 201.2 – Walking this morning (45 min before work). Trash goes down tonight, so I’d better get that fridge cleaned! (Got part of this done – threw out the stinky stuff. Then did recycling, composting, and some general straightening for another half hour.) Super salty dinner, so lots of extra water!
04/26 – 201.2 – A break in the rain this morning, so I managed to squeeze in a 65-minute walk and then lunch out with my daughter. The sky opened up 5 minutes after I walked back in the door! Squeezing in an hour of power-cleaning so I can concentrate on the neglected garden this weekend.

Welcome to Round 75!
Late start round 74: Lost 1.8
Round 75 Goal - 2.2 down
04/23 - 203.8
04/24 - 203.6. Had a good day yesterday, calories, exercise both in check. Thought I would have a better scale response, but down is good.
04/25 - 203.2. Admin professionals day lunch, I ate pretty carefully, but it was high calorie - couldn't resist the chocolate dessert. Balanced OK with a low cal dinner and evening walk. Trying to plan my weekend a little more carefully - weekends are my "trigger".
04/26 - 202.9. Back down, total so far this round is down .9. I would love to be down 1.5 by Monday, because that is my weekly weigh in day. I know people say don't focus on a number, but right now my weight is so high that is all I can see. Maybe when I hit my 10% goal I will be able to focus on fitness goals, but right now, the number is important to me. I'm not sad or anything, just really want to lose weight the right way, so that I can sustain the healthy lifestyle. These are my meandering thoughts on a sunny and windy Friday afternoon.

@quiltingjaine I've heard you mention that before & it's a great idea. However, my fitbit won't fit around my ankle. I'll have to think of another way. When shopping in multiple stores for 5 or 6 hours, I know those steps add up! Any & all ideas would be great!
Try fastening it to the belt loop on your trousers - I have to do that when pushing my baby grandson in his stroller otherwise the steps aren't counted !!3 -
33th Round for me: Female 66, height 5’
Back again! Had a great trip though came back last Thursday with a cold and absolutely exhausted. Stepped on the scale Friday and it said 157.8!! That was partly the result of eating very little when I was driving because my stomach was off but still a very encouraging number. Goals this round – stay in the 150’s and hopefully end with 157something, keep daily movement up.
I think the daily movement was what caused my loss while away. Meals were not low cal., although not too bad and almost no desserts, but was on my feet much, much more than at home. Lots of spring yard work to do so hoping that will do the trick.Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, -.2Day/Weight/Comment

04/23 – 159.4 – Still a bit stuffy in the head and coughing but feeling better. Not healthy enough for a gym workout but planning to get out in the sunshine and clean off perennial beds. One of my favorite spring jobs – seeing all the new growth and thinking of what I can plant.
04/24 – 159.4 – Feel like dragging around / sleeping all day because of the end of this cold and trip tiredness. However, I know how that will end – eating all the wrong things and feeling down at the end of the day because I’m still looking at all the stuff that needs to be done. Instead I’m going outside in the sun and clear off perennial beds. Not a high activity job but still getting something done.
04/25 – 159.4
04/26 – 159.4 – I was looking for a picture of me to create a new profile pic last night and came across one taken from the side where I’m sitting at a table – oh my! way to show the apple shape My mental image of myself is so way off. Good dose of reality so that I keep at it. You on this forum are proving that it can be done.

Goal: Last round was sad. I was eating what I would expect to be maitenence (since Easter and other events) with making sensible choices while eating out, and upping my exercise, to gain a whopping 2kg (I think. Didn't weigh the last two days). If this wasn't bloat from alcohol I will be very disappointed.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

So my motivation from yesterday went out of the window this eve. I worked much longer than planned as I was at home and then felt annoyed and sorry for myself and snacked... Didn't make my steps as I felt very tired and then it started raining in the eve, so there was the excuse I needed 🤔
Anyway, new day tomorrow and i'm super excited about my cats finally coming!

The cats are here 😻😻😻
Stressful day at work with loads of meetings and little time to eat. I didn't go for a run because I was expecting the cats earlier. Instead, I started building one of the Ikea cupboards while waiting, they were about 2 hours late. Food was ok, but late dinner and a couple of snacks afterwards while watching the cats explore.

What a day, I'm exhausted! I worked from home to be here when the movers arrive, they didn't show until 7.30pm!
Did have a productive day, despite stopping frequently for some cat cuddles. Went for a run after work and finished building that kitchen cupboard and unpacked a few things. More of that tomorrow.
Food was a mixed bag, within cals including wine, but also spent too much on snacks.

04/23 - 270.0 - Up a bit, but had a ton of sodium yesterday. I had my water, but still the sodium was over by 1/2 a teaspoon. I walked a lot and completed Week 4, Day 2 of C25K. I did two episodes of Zombies, Run! I did not walk for an hour with either one as the timing wasn't right for it due to people either using the room or setting up to use the room. Food was okay.
04/24 - 268.6 - Still up, but TOM started yesterday morning. Sodium is still up too. I walked about 2 hours yesterday. Yesterday morning was rough, but got through it without emotional eating. My Fitbit crashed, and the replacement Fitbit was having errors, got it fixed with the help of a friend. So, today I am supposed to do Week 4, Day 2 of C25K, we'll see what happens as my CSS is coming at 10. More walking later in the day.
04/25 - 269.0 (Internet wasn't up and unable to post)
04/26 - 269.4 - Still creeping up even though period is starting to come to an end. I don't know what's going on. Exercise has been good. Food has been good. So I don't know if I am going to post a loss for this week or not. I did try a new food in Nutrition 101 yesterday, a jicama. We also had it in a salad that was pretty good. Today has been a productive day.

Calling all low carbers & keto folks: Has anyone heard of subtracting glycerin from total carbs to get net carbs like what many do with fiber? Some say to just subtract 1/2 of the glycerin for net carbs. What is everyone's thought on this? I just tried an Atkins chocolate peanut butter bar & it was a bit deceiving on the label. It said 3 net carbs but when I looked at the back it is way more total carbs than I was expecting before any subtractions. I realize that it is artificial sugars so I would not make a habit of it, but what are the thoughts out there?0

@deepwoodslady, Is glycerine an ingredient in the Atkins bar? Glycerine is a humectant. I used to use it in homemade hair products. I don't know much about it as a food additive. It's a sugar alcohol, but only slightly sweet, really sticky. I don't know about carbs or net carbs concerning it. I would have to read up on that.1
-
@tiabirdie56 It is spelled glycerin. It does not have the letter E at the end. It is something that they say does not raise your glucose levels and therefore, does not need to be counted (just like fiber). I did check a couple of websites and they say to count half of the glycerin. Others say to not count any of it. Incidentally, they are saying the same thing of fiber. Some websites say to deduct all of the fiber, and other sites say to only deduct half of the fiber and count the other half for net carb. Many say not to deduct any fiber or glycerin at all if their counts are only 5g or less. So confusing. I want something sweet with a little peanut butter every now & then (I love it just like you, Tish). But I don't want to be eating 30 grams of carbs in one bar! Wowza! Let me know what you find & what you think.1

04/23- 165.8 Although it’s a slight uptick from the past 2 days, I am happy with this. It’s my TOM, so I’ll be happy to hang around this weight for a few days. I’m watching my sodium.
04/24- 165.8 I’m good with that. I worked out hard at the gym today, so we’ll see what tomorrow brings. I hate it, but I’m eating some pizza tonight.
04/25 165.8 Considering I ate pizza last night, I’m happy with this number.
04/26 165 Heck yes! Was very happy to see this number on the scale this morning. I’m a little afraid of what tomorrow morning will bring, because I ate a heavy meal for dinner tonight.

Goal for this challenge -3lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
04/23 187.1 lbs gained back a bit over Easter, but that’s ok with me. Goal for today: stay within limit, get in a good walk and finally track water intake consistently!
04/24 185.7 lbs did pretty well tracking water intake yesterday but my long walk was boycotted by my toddler. Goal for today: not as much snacking as yesterday!
04/25 183.8 lbs Nice! Mostly water, but I’ll take it! 😃
04/26 183.5 lbs slow and steady!
04/27 183.4 lbs slooooooow and steady ;-)

Ready for my round 12
Was on holiday for the last 2 rounds. In the past this would have meant a gain of 3kg or so. I didn't really try to lose (just did not want to gain) but managed to lose 1.9 kg over the 2 rounds.
OSW 88KG
RSW 73.7 kg (-14.3kg) or {-31.5 lbs}
04/23 73.6 kg a good start to the round and to going back to work. Started running again yesterday and did some pushups this morning.
04/24 74.5kg for no reason so I'm not worried as I always do this after a loss. Ran and tried some planks with the sunrise.
04/25 74.5kg and pushups done for the day
04/26 74.3kg 2k run and plank challenge day 5 which I will have to repeat tomorrow as it was a struggle!
04/27 73.0kg I think that is a woosh! But it is probably because I hardly ate yesterday and I feel dehydrated this morning. Day 5 of planks again and push up and squat challenges.

04/23 -- late
04/24 -- late
04/25 -- 74.5 kgs I haven't been this heavy since I was pregnant with my daughter, and Im not even sure I was this heavy then. However, I have eaten well so far today, and plan on sticking to this. I CAN DO THIS!!
04/26 – 74.2 Forgot to post today. Did pretty well, ate fairly healthfully and kept to my resolve to have 1 salad a day.
04/27 – 73.9 feeling strong today, but I forgot to bring my breakfast with me to a sporting event for my daughter. I am going to have to see what I can find to eat that wont kill my progress. I am actually liking having a salad everyday. That is not something I thought I would ever say!

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 75 (round 7 for me !) Lets go !!!
Female age 60 5' 4”
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – but I am finding it difficult!
Round 72 I saw my lowest weight since September last year, shame I just nudged up again on the last day . Never mind, this is a new day and a new challenge, so lets rock it !! Over all I'm heading in the right direction, just need to keep going.
Jemtred – I'm going to use your goal to weigh less at the end of the round than the start, if you don't mind!
End of round 69 134.2 lbs
End of round 70 133.6
End of round 71 132.4
End of round 72 133.2
End of round 73 132.8
End of round 74 132
Day/Weight/Comment
04/23 132.8 - walked 7 miles before we travelled back from the Peak District in the afternoon.
04/24 131.4 – yay my lowest weight since early September, lets hope it sticks!! walked 9 ½ miles yesterday, hoping to hit my first 1000 miles walked this year by the end of today
04/25 132 – an hours yoga class plus 10.88 miles walked yesterday which means I hit my first 1000 miles of the year.
04/26 133.6 – Oh man!! Went over the top yesterday on calories, carbs & fats ':( . Babysat my baby grandson, met up with daughter-in-law and baby granddaughter for lunch & had an enormous piece of carrot cake; why oh why did I not take half home for my DH? It's the old thing for me, if it's put in front of me I can't say no !!! And weather stopped us getting out for a walk . Must have a textbook day today !!!
04/27 132.4 - Well I did have a very good day yesterday; walked just over 10 miles, ate back less than half of extra exercise calories earned, all macros in green ! 97 oz water.

Sorry to hear your having trouble with your thyroid. Do you take thyroxine?
I was diagnosed with hashimoto's syndrome (hypothyroidism) 18 years ago. My problem is remembering to take it everyday!9 -
04/23 13,11 Reasonable day, good for exercise
04/24 13,12 Lazy day, not great on the food front, too much snacking (my usual downfall)
04/25 13,11 Hard workout at dojo, busy day so food kept under control
04/26 13,10 Nice to see the scales move. Rest day today so need to keep food under control
04/27 13,10 Half way through - even 10 days seems a challenge to me. Busy day with lots of exercise planned - but heading out to see Endgame with family so need to resist snacking at/after cinema
